How' s. That Blood Pressure Doing Now?
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of my bugaboo is showering. Tomkittten gets peeved with ME, see he belongs to the Shower of Day Club- I try to tell him people my age dry their skin out doing it too frequently, but that's NOT the Real Reason- Truth be be TOLD- I get so dizzy and light- headed that I use my shower chair once again- kind of a set- back when I'm trying to prove I can handle everything Life Throws My Way. Although I weigh much less than Once-Upon -A-Time I still could make an Loud Noise falling! Plus I'm not sure, with Osteopenia do Your Bones still break or splinter like a Greenstick fracture? Better had better not go out of My Way to find the Answer, should I?👈😣👉 -
🍽️ 🍽️ What's on the Menu? 🍽️ 🍽️

You know, I think I just might! I'm likely going to finish today around 550-ish, and already plan to eat "normally" tomorrow. I could go 500 again on Monday since it's a travel day, and then its time to cut loose -
Thanks, but trust me its there, its mostly above my belly button (but putting my arm up pulls it up and stretches it so its less noticeable) in upper arms, and my saggy butt. I will say though that the extra skin looks less like rolls now and more like wrinkled fabric...lol.
-
For reals My think my skin alone would fill out those jeans right now. 🤣🤣
-
Where are you packing your extra skin? These pics are just amazing!

thanks! I'm just lucky that my skin elasticity is very good...

Lookin' good! Your top is a little loose, but it's hanging well. Your pants however, are too big. Your skinniness is making you look taller!

Any August 2019 people out there?
mr.sean replied to big_ange's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My loose, sagging pants and billowy, too-big dress shirts are making me anxious. I'm going to DXL to buy a couple smaller shirts and some pants and jeans, but I'm also pissed because they'll probably only fit me for a few weeks. -

How long was recoup time for tummy skin surgery? Going Oct 3rd don’t know what to tell work. -
I'm one year post sleeve surgery and am ready to start looking into having some plastic surgery to clean up the horrible excess skin. Although I'm happy with the Dr who did my sleeve, I'm not really impressed with the plastic surgeon he has teamed up with in his office. Any suggestions on how to find a good plastic surgeon? I would think I want someone who has a lot of experience with bariatric patients, right?

Can you take CBD products before surgery (no vaping)
Bastian replied to Cherylmilla's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ir doesn't need to be injected it is absorbed very well through the mucosa and even through the skin Hence it being in so many forms. Best absorption is to inhale or under the tongue, hence people vaping or using the drops. -
Arrivederci!!!!!! That sounds awesome!! You have done maintenance very well, I've been enthralled by your posts. From what I've seen, I doubt you would have any problems!! I need help I want to know what Exercise I can do to lose my stomach
NurseMichael replied to reedkib's topic in Fitness & Exercise
So here is the question. Is the remaining belly adipose fat tissue or left over skin. If its skin....no amount of exercise will remove it...you may need plastic surgery. If its still fat thats remaining...some of my colleagues are a little mistaken. A flat belly starts in the kitchen. You can do all the situps and crunches you want, and trust me, you will build up an amazing six pack belly, but it will be covered by that layer of fat. You have to eat the right foods and do general whole body exercise to remove fat. There is no such thing as targeted fat loss, i dont care what you tube video or "fitness expert" you see out there. Make sure your diet is right and increase your exercise, and that belly will slowly dwindle (and keep up the crunches and situps). -
one year surgerversary
Podgeylass replied to Podgeylass's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Once again beautiful people thank you all, This past year has been a bit of a roller-coaster emotionally, mentally and of course physically. Although the scales were moving downwards my mind still saw the 249lb, I would shop for clothes with one aim … is it black and can I fit into it. Shopping is still a challenge but instead in a good way, I have choice. The best thing I did was get a personal trainer who I started with as soon as I got the 6 week all clear from the surgeon. I think this is why I have been lucky with the excess skin, although I am sitting on the fence about having the excess skin removed from my abdomen. -
not at all. Plus then you'd know how much of your "excess" weight is fat and how much is just loose skin. I had a ton of loose skin on my abdomen (I've since had it removed) and thought I had at least 10 more lbs to go to get rid of all that "fat". But it turned out it wasn't fat, since my fat composition was 22% - which is considered lean for women. So all that excess "fat" was actually loose skin.

Feeling like you look like you haven’t lost

Congratulations on your progress! I know the feeling. I tend to have body dysmorphia and although I've lost 81 pounds since my high weight, when I look in the mirror I look fat to me! As your clothes get loose you'll feel better. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

February 2019 weight loss buds

I am disproportionately skinny now. I guess I’m skinny-fat. S**t, it’s awesome that I’m “skinny” at all! I wish I could lose enough weight to get my waist thin but my legs... My legs were always the thinnest part of my body so it stands to reason that the same would apply now.... My husband thinks I’m crazy but I do want a tummy tuck to tighten the skin on my stomach. My butt is in pretty dismal shape too. It is saggy! I don’t have any money left for elective surgeries but I have been researching butt lifts. Going to try to start doing some resistance training to see if I can build the muscle up to fill in this saggy “butt bag” I’m caring around. Maybe in a couple of weeks I’ll make an appointment with a plastic surgeon and I will give you guys a report on what they say. I am very blessed not to have a lot of excess skin but I had a lot of volume loss in my stomach and rear end. It’s kind of sad because I was excited to lose weight to wear a swimsuit and I have now found a new insecurity. I’ll just rock a one piece until further notice. Clocked in at 106.4 this morning. I am not trying to lose weight but honestly I just kind of CRAVE healthier food now and getting in more calories has proven to be challenging. I suppose this is a good problem to have. Something I thought I would never be saying in my entire life! Here are a couple of pictures from this morning, Along with a picture of an apple pie I attempted to make on Sunday. I did not eat any of the pie by the way. So I do not have make up on so I am deliberately hiding my face in my selfies. And here are some turkeys that are eating bugs out of the grass behind my house. Throwing that in for entertainment purposes. Enjoy -
Honestly, I prefer this forum over Facebook groups. I haven't had good experiences on Facebook. Very judge-y and love to tell you crazy things like "you aren't loosing weight because you aren't smudging yourself with enough sage!" 😂 The majority of the people here are expirenced and have truly good advice.

Let me start by saying I would do it all over again. It’s been 2 1/2 months and it is hard for me to remember with emotion the recovery. What I can tell you is it was ugly. I know this doctor I trust this doctor the procedure has a 50 to 75% complication rate. I believe if I followed my doctor’s instructions I would be in that magical 25 to 50%. it was my third and final PS Surgury time 5.5 hours with 2.5 lbs of skin tissue removed. Plus a touch of fat not included in skin weight. I went home that day. I followed all instructions. 2 drains for about 20 days. but noticed a wound separation after 1 week. Hard to keep the groin still. I mean a person has to get up. Use the toilet and such. Urine did not help. A female can use a funnel or a female urine device... A hole opened that was 3 inches by 1.5 inches and a couple inches deep at its largest. It could not be closed with stitches or glue. Multiple MD visits and an ER visit. Packed it with saline gauze it closed at 7 weeks. It was scary I freaked. So compression gear was out because of chaffing I developed 2 areas of fluid build up and one became infected I took oral antibiotics for 8 weeks. My MD placed a small hole so that side could drain and another whole would not open along the incision. It was super uncomfortable it wasn’t painful but super uncomfortable. hot and hard an weeping It freaked me out. I missed like 6 weeks of work but did a small bit from home. Thank goodness I trusted the MD. Here is the thing - no skin hitting me when I bike or run It is pretty awesome. Nothing t rearrange. I have lost of what gained when home and on a high protein diet. My age - 46 could have placed at a higher risk. I think though mostly I was just unlucky. Now though I am pleased. Plus my health nsurance covered the ER visit. -
If they nicotine test you, they may. My doctor didn't nicotine test me. I quit before surgery, but started up again. Struggling to quit still.... and I am in a similar boat because now I have upcoming skin removal surgery and if I don't quit, it can affect blood circulation and cause my incisions not to heal.

Does anyone else have these workout pants? I can’t decide if I like them or not. I’m not used to having anything loose on when I’m exercising but they are very comfortable and have pockets! Under Armour
