    4 weeks out

I stalled at 3 weeks. It was so frustrating especially after watching weight fall off first 2 weeks. About a week later I started loosing again. It’s just your body getting use to the changes. Hang in there

    Lower body lift APPROVED!

Yes. I had a few things, documentation from my bariatric surgeon, documentation from my OBGYN (sorry if TMI but my loose skin was causing irritation in my public region), documentation from my primary where I had 2 yeast infections inside my belly button due to the skin fold. I had visits spanning from about 5+ months before I decided to see a plastic surgeon.

    Scar Tape or Cream?

Actually going to order it now as a trial run on the "side boob" skin excisions before the "big day" coming up. See if it makes any noticeable difference with 3 weeks of use.... edit: unf. may not arrive until november 13th. ah well. still going to try it.
  4. Insurance approved my lower body lift! I can't tell you how happy I am. I literally cried tears of joy! Sometimes insurance will only approve a portion of the lift, usually panniculectomy (sp?) but they approved everything for me. I had a history of rashes, boils, repeated yeast infections in my belly button. My belly skin sagged to the pubic region, which is probably why they approved me. Not only will this improve my look but my quality of life! I won't have to move my skin around to do things, like pee, or putting on clothes or shower! So now... What do I need? I need a shopping list of things for this surgery. I might only have a month or two to prepare! Top items on my list: Power Lift Recliner Lots of pillows Walker Pre-op Skin Wash Medical side table on wheels Compression garments come with the surgery but probably need more post-op

    3 week stall

I had vsg May 15th. I’ve lost 72 lbs. however I have stalled several times for weeks at a time. Ignore the scale numbers. I’m shocked to see I’ve lost 72 lbs after ignoring scale. I’m losing weight so slow now. I do spin class 3 to 5 days a week and lift weights. I’m lucky if I loose 1lb a week. It does come off eventually.

My favorite button up sailor dress jeans revealed! I purchased them on sale this past summer in a very extra small size 8, at least for me. I can hardly believe they are fitting today, and a little loose in the behind. The belt much too large - took to the cobbler's today. My attempt at a Fall outfit (still in the 90's here) with a twice taken in blouse wearing my great-grandmother's cameo. Sort of an Out of Africa movie state of mind... For those in cooler climes do send a colorful leaf peeping picture with yourself. Really miss the crispy Fall change of season. :[
  8. So, I am using some scar cream on the scars from the bra-band skin excision I had done several weeks ago. It really doesn't seem to be doing anything, but I am continuing with it anyways. BUT, 1oz was 30$. I am having a TT and arm lift in 3 weeks and 1oz will NOT last very long and I don't want to spend God knows how much on cream! I hear the tape is a good option, so I may go with that. I have been reading that you can use the tapes for 3 days, take it off, wash it, and reuse it. Is this true??? Seems gross. How does it continue to stick and how does the silicone remain effective? Any links to good tape? I gots questions. lol.

    I don't want to/forget to eat

I agree with you Like Mom said - Eat right and you will be healthy. The only problem is I played way to hard so going to take a while. With only 22 pounds to go Not really worried anymore about the weight - Have to get there soon because my kids are going to kill me if i don't end this Party. Not sure if you saw my post but i refuse to buy new clothes or get a hair cut till i hit my weight. I look like a Homeless guy. Doing it just to have fun, Have not had long hair for years, Kinda funny. Girlfriend is supporting the party time but refuses to go out in public, Good I cant eat out anyhow, She is a great doctor and she is the one who switched me from focusing on the weight to Focus on Nutrition and the weight will just happen. Who knows maybe all the bangs, bruises and medical defects will fix over time. - Nothing to loose at this point.
  10. Wow! What a great result! I also agree with you that movement will help. Not only with your weight loss but it will also help your skin to bounce back as much as it's going to. That's at least my theory. But like everyone has said, this is your journey and your body will behave in the way it was meant to. Keep up the great work. Keep positive and get active.

    I don't want to/forget to eat

I did a 10 program - if you look at my post i did a layout - I hired a Nutritionist and i also us a app for calories, Bottom line is I don't eat very much, Just don't feel like eating. I will say that i lost 10 pounds during the fast but after bumped back 3. I think it was water weight. My average is 200 calories a day and most days I just do shakes or veggies smoothies. I beat the hell out of myself for 52 years so really focusing on the Vitamins and health end of it with conjunction of the weight loose. I slip a lot with the vodka but the food thing is easy to me. I think they yanked all the hunger nerves out of me when they took my 85% of my stomach. I also Hate water so this is a major problem for me, I drink the protein waters and i convert water to some sort of flavor drops. I.m a big dude and and I am lucky if i get in 30 oz of water a day, I know that is bad but it makes me feel like hell and blots me. My main liquid is the real low calorie sports drinks or baby drinks I will say once you get the nutrition end under control you will never feel better. Something weird happened i went in to get a eye exam, Been 3 years. My eyes have improved? Not sure if the nutrition had anything to do with it but they really improved. So to wrap up the question: I think the 10 day flush is priceless and i do think it moves your body to healthy and starts the body burning again, but i am not a doctor just saying it was worth it to me

    Results with a 35ish BMI

Seems like you are on course I have not lost consistently - I really feel you should not do the weigh thing daily - I weigh myself each Sunday once a week and shoot for 4 pounds a week = 208 pounds in a year! The main reason I am doing that is to not look like a shrinky dink with the skin and also I have been told it is easier

Ok. Do y'all have the mental space to let me vent about a completely ridiculous WLS first world problem? Yeah? Great ! I *needed* a new coat. (Long-ish story but my wonderful Cole Haan coat that is dry clean only - I washed/dryed multiple times which is not usually a problem but ... I left it in the dryer too long and it shrunk. Oops 😔 So one of my daughters will get it unless I lose 15lbs) I went shopping and these are the coats/sizes/ranges I tried on: Smalls- which were just right or too big Mediums- which were too small or too big. Larges- which were slightly loose or too big No rhyme or reason to sizing these days Here are are some of the abysmal results: Side not: why the **** does this fitting room have a Michael Westmore FX lighting budget... I look like a Ferengi?!?! Whatevs 😒 So I went to a different store and did finally find something to make sense of all this sizing madness. This is a medium, which is my true size these days. I also bought high riding boot because FOMO 😂

    Hair loss

I take natures way Alive! hair skin and nails formula gummies. Looks like little strawberries. Tastes good and seems to help. The longer your hair is the more drastic any loss will look. I have my hair very short, in a buzz cut pixie. But I like it this way and easy to wash. I also use a massaging shampoo brush. Like a scalp massager. Healthy scalp healthy hair. I don’t brush my hair anymore. Also wrap my head in a microfiber hair towel after showering.

    My Plastic Surgery Thread

so many women wear too large a band size and too small a cup size since we are so accustomed to the standard sizes being 34-36B. My underbust measures 28 So Depending on the bra I might wear 28G US 28F UK, or 30F US 30E UK. Sports bras naturally run very small depending on the brand so usually you go up a band size in sports bras ie. Target champion c9 runs small. Freya that is a up brand makes good bras, I like the Freya deco bras. I’ll probably need new ones soon I’m wearing my old 30F UK, it’s big on the band and a little big on the cup. I don’t look big chested at all but it is my accurate size. I have a lot of chronic pain yet I find when my bra fits best it’s actually more comfortable than a bra that is too loose. If you can fit two fingers in between your back band and your back and or doesn’t sit straight across it’s too big. I know some American brand bras run a little small on the band so some brands you might work with 32 band but it should run snug on the loosest hook to leave room for tightening as the bra stretches. also the style of bra you will need will be different after surgery and you adjust the cup size based on style. I usually need a Demi cup since I have a long torso but full cups are too tall and I don’t have anything to fill the top part. The Freya deco are a plunge bra and are a molded cup. You might find after surgery that you only need lightly lined bras. i check amazon or www.brastop.com and sometimes Nordstrom rack but I haven’t looked lately. i don’t even remember when anymore but let’s say over 20 years ago I had breast reduction surgery. I had very solid, dense heavy breasts that were sagging to my belly. You might get a surgical bra post op from the doctor but for extras (for washing) you don’t need to buy the expensive surgical bras the fruit of the loom will work just fine. I wasn’t supposed to lift my arms too much after surgery but at the time I had a loft bed ... I don’t know what types of surgeries you might have had in the past but a tummy tuck will be similar to a hysterectomy. Have a small pillow to hold against your stomach, especially if you need to do anything like cough, sneeze or even laugh. Ouch. i had to have surgery recently and have stitches where you don’t want stitches. I think I lost track of how many over the years. But I would do it again if I can for the extra saggy wrinkly skin especially my thighs. My stomach is still abnormally large compared to my other measurements you will be so happy with the results of your procedures once you get past the initial recovery and get into the healing phase. Just watch for any signs of infection. After my reduction I had an infection in the incision, I cleaned the area out ointment and bandaged it the doctor said I did the right thing and was given antibiotics. Other than that it wasn’t too bad. you can buy scar creams and special silicone (I think?) sheets that you put on scars overnight if you want to reduce the appearance. Might be called mederma. it will be interesting to figure your bra size afterwards, you might be 32H or even 30I post surgery. Which would be 32FF or 30G in UK bras. I tend to like UK bra fit though I wish I could just buy bras in target. Sometimes if lucky you might find in Marshall’s or tjmaxx. i had a bit of an obsession phase learning about true bra sizes and styles and all that. enjoy the process, you’ve come a long way

    My Plastic Surgery Thread

Had my fitting last week, and my first in person meeting with my surgeon and his staff. I'm more excited than a kid going to Disneyland! I'm even more impressed with my surgeon in person than I was before. He seems very down to earth. Same with his staff. (One surgeon I consulted with, his staff all looked like they were from Real House Wives). They answered all my questions, and went over the surgery and general process in detail. My surgeon says I am pretty much the perfect candidate and expects me to be very pleased with the results. He seemed genuinely excited to do my surgery. Couple of interesting things came out of the consult. Contrary to my original plan, he believes very strictly that patients should maintain their post surgery weight long term. So if I weigh 130 surgery day, and he removes 4 lbs of skin, I am supposed to maintain 126 indefinitely. I honestly feel a little too thin at my current weight, so I'm not entirely comfortable with that. I also am going to ask for the 2 lb credit for the implants! 😂 He believe I can skip the muscle tightening portion of the tummy tuck. It doesn't appear I have much diastasis recti. (I have never been pregnant) It would save me a significant amount of pain. Approximately 80% of the post surgical pain is from this part of the procedure. I am still going to have it done, cause I figure I might as well maximize the results even if the difference will be subtle. I ended up choosing much larger implants than either my surgeon or his staff expected. I'm going with 450 cc high profile silicone. I heard the nurse and my surgeon talking after the fitting that they were surprised at how good the 450's looked 😂 Here is with and without the sizers in. This is droopier than final results should be, I couldn't pull up on my bra while taking a pic at the same time. 😁 I'm 6 weeks out! I cannot wait!!

    I think I dumped

I'm 7 months out and have been doing well I've lost 100lbs. The other dau I went to blaze pizza and got a keto crust pizza with no sugar sauce and smoked ham with a few veggies. Ate 1 slice (I've done this several times before) the next day yesterday at lunch i ate 1 slice then some watermelon of which I've had before. 2 hours later AT WORK my hands started to shake and my heart rate went to over 100 I felt so weak almost faint I was able to get home and I fell into the bed TERRIFIED. I never had pain, nausea, or loose stool. I laid there in a stupor for about 2or3 hours and it went away. Okay family. WTF was that? Was it the watermelon juice pushing the food thru to fast? What? Please put your thinking caps on because now I have ALL food anxiety!

    Tummy Tuck 8/21

I'm a little over 11 weeks out and healing really well. More swollen on the left than the right. Extremely happy with the results so far!! It's totally weird not having my gut or loose skin someones. I was so used to it. I wake up and feel like I'm missing something, go figure. 🤷‍♂️ Although, it's awesomely nice tucking in shirts and wearing belts without stuffing fat or skin in! [emoji23] HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]
  22. So, I still have just 2 pairs of long pants (black/grey) and 2 pairs or capri (navy blue/tan)... again, stretchy but slightly tight for now. I don't think I will buy more work pants until I have to. I just decided to order a bunch (well, not a lot but enough) of Tunic style tops that will hopefully be long enough to cover most of my hips/bottom. I figured they will fit perfectly now, but wearable as they get loose for a while, and cover up my hips/bottom enough that it won't matter if I wear pants that are tighter or looser lol. I am also thinking I can wear some of my workout legging under them to help fill in my work clothes wardrobe. Hope it works! I work in a professional building when I am in my office, but I roam around when dealing with the staff/patients under my care. Can't look too frumpy! I am down to a size large for shirts now, and really will probably only go down to either a large/small or small/medium at most. Hopefully I will get there fast, but not too fast as in wasting money on clothes. I have quite a few pant sizes to go though, but that is why I am buying tighter stretchy pants so I they can shrink with me. I wish I could get away with just wearing everything baggy... but that would definitely be frowned on by my bosses and co-workers! That, and I want to show off my weigh loss! I can't decide if I am going to break down and buy jeans... they are less forgiving when I lose weight. I want some, but don't want to go through multiple pairs that I only wear for a short while.

    Panni vs tuck

I would go with the tuck. The panni is just administrative there is no artistry and if you ever watch skin tight of 600 lb life they only show them after with clothes..that's because their only job is to remove the skin, not to make it look good. ....why get it and then get another surgery and put your bod through it. because there would probably be a deductible or co-pay. You have worked so hard and you want to feel good about your body. would suggest just the tuck. I've been following Dr. Omar Lazos on facebook. He specializes in those of us who have lost a lot of weight from weight loss surgery. Talk about Artist. Google him @Jazzy1125 I follow him and I just had my weight loss surgery so i have over 100 lbs to go but I plan to go to him after. He fixes everything. The thighs, the fupa, (fat upper pubic area) the everything!!! https://www.facebook.com/groups/dromarlazos
  24. WHAAAAAAAT??! You are a grandma?!?!?!? You. Look. Amazing. (and your skin is fab) ❤️ Nice job, lady.
  25. I am at maintenance now at 8 months out. But I was only getting 500-600 the first few months then months 4-6 closer to 700- 800 with less than 30 carbs. I was loosing too fast (for me). I started at 35 BMI. Every surgeon is different if course but that sounds like it aligns with most of what I have read. I still do a protein shake every morning to make sure I’m getting a good amount of protein and vitamins. My paperwork said to transition to food from the shake by now but that was to make sure people didn’t get too high of calories. My MD and nut are fine with me on a shake a day indefinitely. Ideally in 6 months when I can eat more I would like to decrease that to maybe only every other day and get protein from real food but not in a rush now.
