My mother said she no longer wants to talk or see me anymore.

She's very good at playing a victim. So I wouldn't ever lay a hand on her. I would be the one going to jail. I was sitting here remembering as a kid how out of nowheres in front of my aunts or her female friends she would kick me in the nads and start laughing. This went on till I was around 12 every now and then, never knew when. Could be weeks apart or months apart. When she did it in front of my friend, I pinned her to the wall and told her I would strip her of skin the next time. She stopped. But not before calling the cops and filling a police report on me abusing her with tears in her eyes. My friend was the only reason I didn't go to a boy's Ranch. Even one of her friends testifying that she has kicked me multiple times in front of her. The case was dismissed with the judge telling her that she was never to kick me there again. That wasn't discipline. That was it. -
She Wants double the food intake Good healthy food and 2-3 hits of the shakes and this MRE - Right now i am doing about 3 shakes a day Min - Also having trouble making time to eat so this is a easy quick sub for a on the road meal. Its season here so busy as hell - It also will allow her to zero in on the calories and what is the amount i can put in and still loose weight. Cross fit is messing me up running out of juice and energy quickly and then trying to work, So looking to add a little fuel to the gas tank to get me thru the day. But basically i have no clue

Oh, Just Another Plastics Story

I can understand not wanting to jump through all of these silly insurance hoops and feeling like a piece of meat that's inspected by some stranger. I will for sure try to get at least partial coverage but that "6 month of stable weight" alone means at least another year of waiting for me in the end. And I have crazy loose skin on the front of my body... and also some lumps of fat on my upper inner thighs that really look out of proportion there. I wish the rest of my body would look as defined as my back. 😞 -
I’m going into work today, our new term starts tomorrow. I am not keen on my pouch of belly skin/flesh, but I’m trying to not let it dictate my wardrobe choices, you know? I’m DONE hiding behind loose clothes and long tops.

I am super happy with the Tummy Tuck, as of yesterday I could put my belt on the pre tummy tuck notch, so a lot of the swelling has gone down. No more loose skin, so no weird bulge below the belt line. Plus my belly button got chopped off when they did my gallbladder surgery and now after reconstruction I think it looks more normal. I’m 49, so wearing a bikini isn’t the most important thing to me, but now I feel like I could wear a bathing suit and not feel self conscious. I am ready to be done with the abdominal binder, but I am going to follow the Doctors advice and wear it another month.

Has anyone tried tattooing to hide the ugly look of the upper arm? What did u think? did it help?

I just met with my Nutritionist last week and brought up the fear of putting weight back on. I do not think you need any new surgery, I think you have a eating disorder like the rest of us Fat People who are here. Simply put i agree with above - Stop Eating junk and get on a healthy plan. There is no way for you not to loose weight if you keep your calorie count below 800 and follow the protein, veggie plan. All this other bully poop about new surgery and sleeve stretching is a excuse. It wont matter if you get 19 more surgeries if you keep taking in more then your burning. Alot of us including myself have had metal issues with this surgery - i would start with the Head then the Plan and see how that goes. You already have the tool now use the tool with all the other tools in the shop and get back to losing again!

I was told to stay away from skins and seeds as they can get stuck in the "seam" that is healing . It has a potential to cause infection among other things.

You are fortunate not to have crazy loose skin and I'm jealous. Honestly the pain of the tummy tuck supersedes the breast... I barely feel that I think insurance would have covered it but i wanted it done immediately -

ROFL. I guess I will be a self-pay, too. I guess it's not "enough" loose skin for insurance to pay (ok, I won't exclude being lucky so lets wait and see, I'm financially prepared already for the worst case though). I'm looking into the Avelar technique and would have to go to Austria then but I essentially cancelled all the thoughts about plastics (well, almost all thoughts...) when surgeons recommended a revision and told me to expect another 10% weight loss. 6.something kg doesn't sound that much but at a height of 167 cm it means more than two BMI points. However, I can have a mommy makeover myself then when the time comes around. Surgeons in Germany usually don't do breasts and tummy in one sitting when insurance covers the procedures because of how hospital stays are paid. (Germany's health care system is sick in its own special way.) ETA: Yes, gotta see the bright site of being a self-pay. One can get what's medically safe and not what some insurance company thinks they're going to pay for. -
A Tale of Two Arm Lifts (rs & ms.sss)

All the pics look great! The belly button pic was cool, I was never really sure what mine should look like, but I am happy with what they did. I am able to do more intense cardio without the rubbing of the incisions being bothersome now. I do have some peeling dry skin areas in between my belly button and incision line. I am putting extra lotion, but I guess not scrubbing hard is contributing as well. -
I ate hummus a lot the first few weeks and never "skinned" the chickpeas (I always make my own). You should be fine.

Lol, I think there’s a lot of us rowing that same boat. At the beginning of my journey my highest weight was 315 pounds and due to financial and other challenges, I spent over two years losing weight on my own and lost 35 pounds on my own . Since my surgery on August 21, 2019; I have lost another 66 pounds for a total of 101 pounds. I’ve lost my double chin and discovered my clavicle but because of my age (67) and the length of time I was obese, I have loose skin everywhere. I am retired and have enough money saved to live comfortably and frugally but there’s no way plastic surgery is in my future unless I hit the lottery. I see the pictures posted here and think that there’s no way that’s in my future. But I began this adventure for my health not to try to be sexy at seventy so I will leave it to the power above and attempt to age gracefully (if there is such a thing). I am more excited that exercise has developed into a nearly daily habit and for the first time in my life, I believe that I can overcome what I considered my greatest failure; unable to keep the weight off.

I'm 60 and my 83 year old mother has been absolutely horrible with me about how she perceives me post-surgery. She says I now have a wrinkled face (she spends a fortune on special facial treatments and creams so she gets constant comments about how great she looks) and if I don't "do something about my skin" I will really regret it. My face *is* more wrinkled as is my neck but I just intend to accept the aging process. I don't have the expendable funds to do all sorts of dermatological calisthenics that she does. I'll use a cream and hope people just accept me for who I am. When I was obese, I looked much younger than my age. Now I guess it has caught up with me.

January 2020 Surgery Date
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For those of you having surgery on Monday, I've been reading that your anxieties are into overdrive. Practice slow deep cleansing breaths and sleep in your most comfortable positions that you know you aren't going to be able to sleep in for awhile. Take a long relaxing bath (because we you are going to be relegated to showers for along while), go get a nice pedicure tomorrow (those include a foot massage), change your sheets and before you leave for the hospital make your bed up nice and pull the covers back (leave a gas-x instead of a mint on the pillow, lol), buy flowers for your room for yourself and a nice card with kind words reminding yourself why you are proud of you!!!! Make a basket of things you need and put it by your bed within your reach, lay comfy loose pajamas on your bed & put your slippers by your bed, put a fresh towel in your bathroom, change your toothbrush just because, get new batteries for your remote controls ( I assume we all will be watching lots of TV in between naps & walks in the house), get a new journal and pens to write, borrow some books and etc... There's plenty of ideas above to keep you occupied until Monday and you can always pray or meditate, download the calm app or go on YouTube and find the Honest guys, I love the meditations offered : This is my favorite one, they offer many. Stay busy pre-pampering yourself, because you deserve it. -
Hi everyone! hoping for your help! I am one day away from being four weeks postop (VSG Dec 16, 2019) and I made myself some hummus today but the consistency was very grainy and I only had a couple of teaspoons but then I got super scared that The grains or the skin of the chickpeas might get stuck in my stitches and cause a leak or something...so I stopped eating....but now I’m freaking out!! Help!! Thoughts? Should I call my nurse tomorrow? Thanks! Neda Vancouver, BC

Yes I was too. I upped my water intake from 64 oz to 100 oz a day and I use Nivea skin firming lotion after every shower. It seems to work because I am no longer itchy and my skin looks and feels amazing.

Has anyone tried using weight lifting/muscle strengthening for a better look for your loose skin? How well does it work? how long does it take to notice a better look if u go semi aggressively, and what amt of weight is good for muscle building?

Moisture under stomach flab
Uomograsso replied to Bianca S.'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have a bit of over hang and have some of the same issues. I have gotten some prescription powder, Nystatin topical powder, as doctor said I had yeast infection. If you can get to your doctor and have them document your skin issues. If you ever consider plastic surgery to remove excess skin insurance may cover part of it if you can show it is medically necessary. If doctor isn't an option I have used diaper rash cream and when rash healed I used Gold Bond powder. -

Me too. I use a powder, don't laugh, called, "Monkey Butt Powder" that is like a talc but better and to keep skin folds from getting moist and rubbing or getting yeast in them. You can get it at WalMart. -

Lotrimin spray for jock itch (not the foot one). Walmart sells their own brand which works just as well. Not to be used on open skin tho so if you have that you should wait until it heals. I use this after every shower and since I have I haven’t had any issues. Good luck! -
I have always had a hanging stomach before surgery but recently have been struggling with moisture at the crease. What do you put to help the moisture to not cause itching. All I want to do is scratch but I’ve broke skin a week ago and I don’t want to do that again.
