I went 90s rocker yesterday. I found a thrifted Mens tweed blazer, complete with elbow patches, that I wore with it. This was the day before. I love black and white stripes. OH, and my pants were pleather leggings. I’m not 100% convinced that this was totally work appropriate, due to the pants, but there are perks to being in a creative field. AND THE BEST NSV! I knit myself these wool socks almost a decade ago, they were soooooooo small that I couldn’t wear them. I almost got rid of them, but couldn’t bring myself to. They are now able to comfortably go on my toesies.

Definitely one of those Non-Scale Victories (NSV's). Congrats and good luck on your weight loss journey.

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD

Also, always a good idea in my opinion to check in with your surgeon/nutritionist when concerned about weight loss. They know your history hopefully extremely well and any challenges you are facing (i.e. illnesses, diabetes, PCOS, menopause (peri, during or post), injuries etc. that prevent regular exercise)....they should not be just a team that does the surgery and goes away. My surgeon, nutritionist and I already kind of knew ahead of time that I was likely to be a slow loser and I had been an extremely slow loser in any method I chose after years upon years of yo yo dieting. So we knew I was going to likely fall somewhere in the middle range at best but we all hoped for more. They have termed me a low average to slow loser and that is fine as I know it just means I need to be more diligent on the things within my control that will take me from slow to 'no loser'. We made adjustments and tweaks along the way working our ways through stalls, through possible other issues. Like I mentioned before, I had been given, when 2 months out, my target calories and I had to push a bit to get my target macros as I favor a low carb/low fat diet. After 4 weeks, even being under 20-30 grams of carbs, things just seemed to flatten. Then they switched my macros around and increased my carbs which had me tripping out but the weight started coming off again. Sure we can come here and vent and hopefully what this leads to is productive behavior which means continuing to stick out the journey, to step away from the scale when the frustrations threaten your journey, to look at other NSV's, to check and see are their basics we are letting slip (i.e. I stopped logging food in my fitness pal for 3 days so I had no hard data when something changed)...are we choosing a 'good/valid' entry in our trackers...do we have firm understanding of some of the things we are concerned about. If ppl ask you to post your food, don't think it is that they don't believe you...there could be something you are missing or it validates what you are saying, you get others who have been down this road...their very valuable input...and then ppl can help tackle troubleshooting other things. What I hope we get the MOST from threads like this is when we are open, and...maybe a bit more careful with tone (not saying things should not be challenged or debated that are actually wrong...I just don't want to alienate someone who doesn't understand how we got to xyz reply and frustrated tone..to not post what they are doing because they are afraid. In the end we want to all help each other REMAIN on our journey whether losing 20 lbs, 10 lbs 5 lbs a month..or sometimes even 0...yes, that can happen...because we know in the end, patience and persistence will win out.

    NSV!!

So I’ve had 2 NSV this week...the first is I pulled out my brand new nursing scrubs that I bought 2 years ago and have never been able to fit into them. Well now they fit perfectly!!! Also pulled out some jeans that I haven’t fit into for a long time and they fit too! This is a 2nd NSV because they do not have an elastic band!!! For the last couple years I’ve been living in yoga pants and elastic wasted jeans because that’s all that has fit me comfortably. I’m 7 1/2 weeks out and 32 lbs down since surgery
  7. A NSV today! I I can wear some 12's but there is one pair of 12's that I have tried on every few weeks for awhile now and they have always been about 2 inches from buttoning Today they buttoned, yay!

    Cleanliness after surgery

Cant believe we brought back a thread about sht (literally) from 2016. Anyway one of the best NSV's was being able to wipe sitting down for the first time in years after losing weight in the belly.

Welcome to 2020. No NYE for me last night though. We had an early start to the airport for flight to Melbourne this morning. Went comfortable - wide leg pants with draw string waist & t- shirt with puffy sleeve (actually a puffy flap over the sleeve). NSV on plane - put on the seat belt and pulled and pulled and pulled to get it tight. Could have wrapped the loose bit around me twice. Plus so much room in the on board toilet. 😁 I hear your pain re the wardrobe crisis @FluffyChix. Like the black jacket - lovely neat fit. I did like the soft pink colour on you though it did look a bit too floaty.

    Happy Chanukah!

    Happy Chanukah!

Wishing all a happy Chanukah and a happy New Year. My NSV was being able to get down on the floor and play the traditional dreidel game with my kids.

    Person of Size

Most of these so-called NSVs people report in the NSV thread bring up feelings of disgust in myself. Did you call him out on what he said about the "fat farm"?

@Sophie7713 you and Mr. (and puppy) are A.DORE.A.BLE. I wanna go make an Xmas card now! Also, thumbs up with Mr.'s office decorations...love it @shanza the jeans are another score from the Kid's discards pile. Honestly, I am getting more mileage from her closet than the mall these days... @KaysMommy: You are looking positively skinny. The cut of that skirt makes you look so tall and slender. Also, yeah, being able to double my wardrobe by sneaking into the Kid's closet is a definite NSV!

I have my performance review today and decided to dress professionally. And I figured out why my selfies here were so bad - I was standing too far back from the mirror and it was goofing up the perspective. I used to have to stand that far to fit into the mirror. NSV!

OK, serious NSV alert. I've never in my life owned a pair of full calf boots. Why? Cuz from age 6 when white boots became popular (thank you Partridge Family), they didn't have any that would fit over my big fat calves. My sissy cleaned out her closet this weekend and gave me some stuff that's either too small for her or that she doesn't wear. Beautiful super high end stuff. The kind I couldn't afford. And her boots were in the batch! And they fit! They fit! Normal size calf boots zipped with room to spare!!! *swoon* Here I am dressed for Tuesday date night (on account of mah new boots).
  20. November 11, you are just beginning to see how differently the men are going to behave. Women as well, enjoy your journey lady and don't start any riots, lol. This is a NSV.

Errrrr. I had to look real hard to figure out who this was 😳 IDK but your selfies aren't doing you justice. You look a completely different size when photographed by someone else (who I imagine was also taller and happy to see you happy 😬) Massive CONGRATULATIONS 💚 big NSV

It is a BIG DEAL. Borrowing “normal” sized clothing and being fit/healthy to enjoy the day in the snow. Did you ever think this would feel so fantastic? Enjoy this moment and NSV.
  25. congrats - thats a major NSV and a great goal! I went 1 time about 10 years ago and it is terrifying and exhilarating. Hope you love it!
