I’m at almost a decade post op and moved away years ago from where I had RNY surgery. Over the past six months I e had repeated abdominal pain that my Dr keeps trying me on Pepcid for and is referring me to a gastroenterologist. I’d like to find one with experience/interest working w post- bariatric patients but most bariatric specialists are surgeons. Anyone else dealt with this? Particularly in the Phoenix area? Ty!

10 years since Gastric Bypass, and putting weight back on !
Maria Hamilton posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi I had a gastric bypass just over 10 years ago. I did fantastic and lost over half my initial starting weight. I have kept most of it off but 2stone is creeping back on and I am scared I do not want to go back to that place. Has anyone else had this challenge and what have you done to get back on track ? -

10 weeks and I'm still struggling with appetite
mamoosbabes posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
How many struggle with eating after gastric bypass surgery? I've followed all the instructions (ie chewing well, waiting between bites, etc), but can't hardly stand the taste of most foods I eat. I've particularly had problems with protein shakes, protein water and protein powders. Some days I feel like I don't even want to eat. I'm concerned because I never reach the amount of protein and water recommended. Will this ever end? Good news is I've lost 48 lbs since November 23, 2022. 10 years now having VSG to Bypass in 2 weeks
Dan1131 posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I’m having my 2013 sleeve converted to bypass on 1/9/2023 because of GERD. I’m not too happy that I have to go through with this as I never wanted a full bypass and have enjoyed being able to still eat a some what normal diet (albeit with less volume than pre sleeve). I’m down between 60-70 lbs from my top weight pre sleeve. Not as much as I really need to feel good in my body but certainly healthier. a few questions: Anyone done this and can share their experience? Will I ever be able to eat again? I know I will but the sleeve was pretty forgiving, everything I read about bypass with the emphasis on protein, chewing 20x, not drinking 15 min before or after eating, makes me think the little enjoyment I got from a good meal after VSG is over, even that is gone. What was you weight loss when you went from sleeve to bypass? I’ve heard I can expect maybe 10-15%. beyond where I am now Any tips or things to watch out for? I’ll be glad to get rid of the GERD and hopefully avoid all the bad things that can come from that but I’m super worried I won’t be able to follow the bypass regime and have other health problems from not following things as directed. -
Hey all I seem to be vomiting up food after I try and eat anything solid , for example I tried a cheeseburger , ate 3 bites and vomited up the 3 bites. Is my stomach still ajusting to my sleeve ? For some reason I can eat crisps no problem cause they disintegrate into a small size I'm my mouth I also can eat fruit bananas or grapes but anything solid I seem to be getting sick Sent from my LE2123 using BariatricPal mobile app

Hello I’m new to this forum definitely glad I found it. Sx date 11/1 got lucky someone cancelled. Had the most pain day 2-5 but now doing a little better. The main incision for me has been itching and a little hard but overall no complaints. I was previously use to just going to the store and picking up anything now I’m really reading labels . This is a life changing experience and journey and hope and pray that everyone gets through it and start to embracing this new healthy life style

I had VSG on 1/18/2022 SW 281 LW 219 CW 224 I am feeling so defeated, I feel like by now I should have lost more… I eat right, workout 3-4 days a week, I work full time as an RN in a busy emergency department 3-4 nights a week so my job is pretty active as well… I’m just pretty lost on why I’m such a slow loser. I haven’t lost anything since May, actually gained 5 lbs. I have met with my doctor and they referred me to a nutritionist which said to track everything and told me food wise I’m doing what I need to be doing and really didn’t offer much more advice. I do have PCOS and that’s always been a struggle with my weight but I have seen so many have success with PCOS post op as well. Has anyone hit a wall like this and has been able to get over it without having additional surgeries like bypass? Thanks in advance for any advice!

So I was wondering if anyone else has had the surgery on sept and what are the hardest parts as of yet .. I know with myself I’m having trouble reaching my fluid Intake. Also not being on any vitamins has me feeling sluggish. Thanks 🙏

10 day post opt and have to say lots of questions still although I know it's Normal. Def having issues with being able to get all my fluids in because I feel so full and then my stomach hurts .. I know that when I tried the primer protein shakes I got sick immediately and I believe it was the milk .. which I never had a problem with before .. but now slowly introducing like almond milk and taking it slow .. but I'll admit I'm scared of food .

Dizziness and fainting 10 weeks post op
Ryan Witner posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey guys I'm 10 weeks post op gastric sleeve. I have times where i stand up and get really dizzy and last night was at a friends house and ended up getting really dizzy, then lost my eyesight and ended up fainting in his kitchen. and luckily he caught me before i hit my head. Im wondering if anybody else experienced this. Not gonna lie i kinda ate a little shitty for dinner and had some fries and cheese sauce from chick fil a. So im curious whether or not what I experienced was dumping syndrome. When i woke back up i was a little shaky in the legs for a half hour and just drank a lot of Water and ended up feeling fine within like 45 minutes. Was a scary experience honestly. Also i started out before surgery at 328 and im down 65 pounds already. Which seems like a lot of weight to lose in 10 weeks -

jraymond270 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I am nervous but excited at the same time regarding finally making the move to schedule my date and start my new weight loss journey. I was wondering if anyone has had their VSG with Dr. Shillingford and if your surgery was done in Palm Beach Gardens. I am as I mentioned nervous but know it will all turn out fine. Also what pre-op items did you have do complete prior to surgery. Thanks in advance for answering my questions. -

So just about 10 weeks post op. No issues at all. No pain, I have had zero issues with any foods i have tried, zero issues with any drinks i have had. scars have healed up very nice, Vitamin intake has been good. only causes nausea once in a while. still taking medication for at least a year to prevent gall stones. Heart burn has been zero after the first couple weeks (which was very bad) My daily meals typically consist of either a chicken egg or 2 quail eggs with onions, banana peppers and cheese (Or if i am not feeling like food, i have a core power protein shake) Lunch typically either grilled chicken or tuna Dinner for most days i have grilled king salmon I went out to eat for the first time a few days ago. Friends and I were on a boat fishing and we decided to ride over to a restaurant on the water and i ordered the Grilled Shrimp that came with French fries. Out of the 10 grilled shrimp i could only eat 5 of them. I also had probably 7 fries out of the basket. But still it was nice. Gave the rest of the food to friends to eat since we were still going to be out on the water for a bit. Clothing has been a change. I have had to buy a new belt as the old one was too big as well as my pants. Shirts so far i am down from a 3-4 XL to 2XL ALMOST DOWN 60LB so far
