    What is wrong with me????

I think if you feel good about it, it is an NSV.

    My 1St Nsv!

I work at a semiconductor plant in a cleanroom. We have to wear these white jumpsuits and hoods to keep particles (i.e. dust) down. I've worn a size 3X jumpsuit for 10 or 11 years. But yesterday I tried on a 2X and IT FIT!!! I asked my friend if it looked too tight and she said it looked almost too big! I'm so excited.... It makes all this hard work seem like there was nothing to it and I can keep going and fit into even smaller jumpsuits.
  3. I posted this on another canadian board, but I wanted to share with you guys too, so apologizes to whoever ends up reading this twice!!! I'm just very happy today :biggrin1: ******* Woooooo! I decided to kill some time and go to Penningtons to see what I could find. I mostly wanted to try on some jeans and see if I've gone down very much in size. The jeans I have now are loose-ish, but I just wanted to see what actually FIT. So I grab a couple pairs... I was aiming for a size 22. The ones I was wearing were a 26, but I've also got some in 24 and 25 (weird Walmart size). So, I try them on, and they fitttt! Not tight, not loose, just fit. They're a tad tighter in the thigh than I'd like, and of course too long. One has some kinda yucky embroidery on the back pockets, and the other's back pockets are covered with rhinestones! They were both on sale from $60 to $45, so I decided I'd just get one. I haaate to spend money on clothes, especially now that I won't be able to wear them for years! (or until I wear the inner thighs out and they rip open... anyone else do that?) I decided on the rhinestone ones, cause I figured they'd be easily picked off, and I wear long shirts anyways. There were 30% off signs all over the store, so I played dumb and asked the clerk if the jeans were (more) on sale too, knowing full well that the rack I pulled them off of wasn't marked 30% off. I was hoping I'd get lucky. She scanned them for me, and her jaw dropped. $25, she said! I ran and grabbed the other ones she'd put away, and asked her to check those too. Same thing $25 ! Yeeeeehaw! So I got both. $120 worth of jeans for $50! Anyways... so not only did I get to buy size 22 jeans, but I got a super deal on them. Lucky for me, cause now I'll have to pay someone to shorten them for me. (my days of wearing holes in the backs of my too long jeans are over!) I'm still gonna hold on to my 26,25,24 size jeans, cause I still like them, even if they're starting to look stupid. The day they literally won't stay on, will be their retirement! And some day, my size 26-ers are going to be the ones that me and 3 friends (LOL) stand in and take a picture with! Just wanted to share this with 'yous' (I'm learning NB speak). Mandi

    One month at goal anniversary

:clap2:  :hail:  :wow2: :cheer2: :bounce: What a wonderful NSV!!!! You are truly an inspiration. It's good to see that people CAN hit their goals!! WAY TO GO!!!
  5. Thanks to everyone for their support and advice. I am constantly learning things about myself and my habits as I go through this process. One early learning was that I am compelled to finish what is on my plate. Somehow I just can't leave food that is available. So I bought small bowls that are just the right portion size and that helped there. The other learning is that I like the feeling of having a full mouth. So these little bites just don't yet provide the satisfaction I need with eating. But they will have to eventually. But I had a NSV today. A month before the surgery we went away to Italy to Celebrate my 50th birthday. I needed to buy some bigger clothes to feel comfortable on the trip. Today I tried them on and I cannot be seen in public with them or they will fall off my tuch. Yippee!

    NSV's for she...

Hurray! Please tell MsJoy how happy we are for the NSV and congrats on the Aniversary! Being able to fit into a booth is a major mile stone indeed!

    NSV's for she...

Uh, that is truly a great NSV. A few weeks ago wen went to Chili's (their booths have very low tables that would squeeze not just the belly, but the thighs too)... and I fit, and it was fantastic, so I know she's walking on clouds about that one!

    NSV's for she...

MsJoy wanted me to post this for her. We recently went to the Dallas area for some family, friends and fireworks. After spending the night at the local motel, we went next door to the Waffle House. Do you have them in your town? They are rather small, condensed little restaurants. The staff rarely comes out from behind the counter. They stand back there and shout out orders to the cook in a language only they understand. They are fairly cheap and they make some of the BEST waffles. But one of the problems with the Waffle House is that, being condensed, there isn't a lot of room. And if you have to sit at one of the booths, it's a tight fit. Which explains why we don't go in there much. But being our Anniversary (#31), MsJoy let me entertain my love of waffles. OF COURSE, the only seats left open were in a booth. I was trying to flag down one of the waitresses to get one of the tables reserved, when Joy steps over and slips into the booth. I was about to tell her that we could get a table in a few minutes, when she looks up at me and says, "No, that's ok. I fit..." ***INSERT BIG, HUGE SMILE*** The Anniversary trip was good....hehehe

    Feeling FABULOUS!

Let's call it metamorphosis - the closest thing I can liken it to is a caterpillar cocooning and turning into a buttterfly. Except my cocoon has mirrors and I allow the occasional visitor. I'm definitely undergoing a transformation, my fill is working, I'm rarely hungry and when I am I eat small portions. I'm officially a size 22 dress which is for me a BIG deal, even though I've been a size 22, 20, even an 18 in jeans, I haven't gotten below a 24 top. So my dresses were always in the size 24-28 range depending on the cut and store. Officially a size 22 which is for ME a HUGE deal, I feel GREAT.. I feel fantastic.. I feel....FABULOUS! I'm definitely in the middle and midst of something great and I can't wait for it to continue. NSV this week - Down from a size 48D to 40DDD - yes they actually got BIGGER! lol.. Down from a 24/26 dresss to a 22 Double chin has almost vanished completely! Taught myself how to do "professional" looking makeup. Rocked absolutely everything I wore... And then ran into an old friend who just CHEESED when he saw me and couldn't get over or stop saying how great I look. That was just amazing (especially since he's the best friend of an ex boyfriend lol) this is absolutely 100% the BEST thing I ever did for myself.. I know I'm experience God results and my change is rapid and I'm SO thankful for it. Praise Him!

  11. So true. I lost ALOT of weight on MANY of the diets I tried. I could lose, just not for long. And what I lost in 3 months could be gained back in a week, no joke! Among those I've tried: Jenny Craig ... Grew tired of the packaged food quickly, and was discouraged by the very slow losses. New Direction and Optifast ... These worked great, as they were liquids only; gained it all back as soon as I went back to work. The Diet Center ... I did this plan a couple of times. It worked extremely well the first time (back in the late 80's) and I thought I could stick with the new eating lifestyle forever; I couldn't. Atkins ... Also worked well, but same issue as above. Diet pills ... They were ok when I was younger; less tolerance for them and less results as I got older. Plus I would get too snappy. Hcg ... Actually would work well, just could never stick with it long enough to get to goal. Nutrisystem .... See Jenny Craig above, The Beverly Hills Diet ... Does anyone remember that one? Or am I giving away my age? Lol. Anyway, I fainted and gave up on that. Those are just my majors, lol. I had tried probably every diet out there before being saved by the band. My biggest NSV with the band is the freedom of mind from the dieting mentality I lived with every day since my teens. . Me too. I could never understand why I could gain the weight back so quickly. I forgot about Diet Center I did that one too. All the money involved with all these diets wow! I still find myself being drawn into any ad I see for weight loss. I think to my self maybe I should try that one. I have to stop myself and remember I have done something about it lap band surgery. Old habits are hard to break I guess.
  12. Hey Guys, I know I haven't posted in a while... I went back to work 2 weeks ago and I've been exhausted.... so, no, I haven't been neglecting you... LOL... I've been trying to sleep!!! I've been feeling great.. the scale has started moving (Thank God!!)... This is a list of my NSVs to date: I can comfortably wear a 22/24 from a 30/32 My lower back pain has decreased considerably I can walk around for hours w/o breathing trouble or exhaustion At church, I can slide right into the pew without holding in my stomach (YEAH!!) I can sit in my students' desks without getting stuck or struggling.. I just slide right in! I feel like my old, confident self (pre-back/foot injury) I'm willing to share my journey with others freely!!! I love, love, love my Sleevina Have a great day guys!!!

    Nsv At Grocery Store

got to love them NSVs !!!!
  15. I have been trying to get about 700 calories daily. (At six weeks out, my initial goal of 800 was too ambitious.) I use MFP to track and it’s interesting to see how I have this cycle of more hungry followed by less hungry. I think “normally thin” people perhaps eat like this. We keep hearing them say, somedays I eat a lot and then the next day, I eat a little less to accommodate for the treat from the day before. I’m not sure I understood that before, because when I tracked my calories, I was always trying to stay under some ridiculous minimum that left me hungry all the time so I ate every one of the calories I allowed myself. But now, letting my hunger dictate my caloric needs seems to be producing this nice up and down curve (A sinusoidal curve, us geeky statisticians would call it). But it’s sweet nonetheless. Another NSV! Listening to my body and feeding it appropriately. Are you guys seeing the same thing?

    Best Decision I Ever Made!

i was sleeved 9/12/12 like mgsmith. i have lost 19lbs prior to surgery and 35lbs post surgery total of 54lbs. my NSV is my work uniform was way to big for me, my daughter gave me some cute jeans that at first i couldnt fit now i rock them. my feet are much smaller which means i can wear my smaller shoes. my face is way thin and younger looking i love it, and ppl tell me how good i look almost everyday. i get down because i see ppl that had surgery around the same time as me and they have lost way more. but my nut said i am on target, they expect 30lbs lost in 3 months i did that in 2 months. i dont eat bad at all i eat all good healthy foods ive had maybe 1.5 cookie at work since surgery. i dont crave sweets anymore and when i do eat them it taste like sugar to me. i get all my protien through food my carbs are under 100grams a day, my only problem is i cant get enough calories in thats the hard part. the down side is i go through periods of naseau for days and then i feel better after a few days. i can only eat 2 -3 bites of dense foods. soft foods i can get in with no problem (exp) cottege cheese yogarts, cheese chili. but whole meats like chicken i get really full. some days i feel like im not going to lose all of the wieght but i guess thats a normal feeling, trying not to feel like im on a diet. trying to just be normal.

    New milestone reached

Woohoo !!! Congratulations to all for those NSV's !!! Way to go !!! One of my first NSV's was sitting on the couch and pulling my foot up to my rear to give myself a pedicure !! No more big tummy in the way, and I did it without gasping for breath !! Hope that happens for you soon ! Good luck to all ! !
  19. dont get me wrong i am grateful for having the procedure. but there are moments i am so down. i have NSV and scale loss but just not enough even though im averging 2lbs a week. i might have to get off this foroum because i see ppl with larger amounts dropping and it is kind of upsetting to me makes me ask why am i not losing as fast. i am scared to wieght train because the scale will go up more and that will only freak me out. smh. i have good days where i am so happy and gitty and then there are these days where i dont feel progress. my daughter fussed at me and said mom you are you and just because someone is losing more dont mean you are doing bad. maybe i need to speak to my nut again and have her tell me again how im expected to lose 30lbs the first 3 months and i did in 2 months. so i guess i can look at it like in another 3 months i will lose another 30 which will put me an 60lbs in 6 months. ( light bulb over my head) lol. ok im breathing now lol

    NSV....I DID IT!

I made it 10.5 Miles today & ran 2 of my fastest miles. I have never ran that far in my entire life. I signed up for my first half marathon on Labor Day. If any one has any tips I'd love it. My foam roller is my new BFF ~LA
  23. You have made some significant NSVs. The great thing about the band it that it is always there to help us.

    Question Bandster Family??????

Don't worry about Bandster hell! I don't consider that I have gone through it and was banded in 08. The worst part was right after I had surgery, then again after I had a fill a few weeks ago where I thought.. what did I do? I got over that right away, and frankly do not want to be without the band. I have PB on Occassion since I got the recent fill, but never before. I have found that feeling sad or mourning food choices is the worst of it for me, but I think about how fast I started to feel better and any negative thoughts go away. I think alot has to do with the way your looking at it. There is little you cannot have in moderation when you think about it, take it one day at a time. You will find that when you go to bed you will wake up wondering what subtle changes your body has done... at least that is how I think about it.. think of the NSV... not all of it is on the scale!

    YUP! A True Story!

Yes. A definite NSV. And I would share a picture with her from a year and a half ago. It might help her to know that we're all in this together. Fighting our wars against society's expectations and our own inner battles.
