Sorry for not seeing your post before now! I imagine you've already been to Mexicali and back? I did take a small ($5) fan but I didn't need to use it. My room was quite cool and comfortable...the pain killers helped too! How are you doing? My friend Debbie looks great! We both have lost about 33 pounds in 2 months. I'm a solid size 12 now and losing about 1 pound a week.

Glad you wrote. I am overall doing good. I am down 20.6 in two weeks YEA. I have had a little trouble but nothing bad, just sometime I forget that I cant eat fast or alot and get overfull. I have been able to swallow normally since about the thrid day home. I have been fuzzy in the head since I got home and have not been working (sales) However I am hoping that I will this week. I am back taking my protien which I think was the major issue, since I feel good today! What problems are you having? I really have not had any other than listlisness, and not being able to sleep when I frist got home, now things seem to be settleing down. Keep us informed. Susan is doing much better, thank god she was beginning to worry me but now she is getting in some protien with out tossing it. Talk soon.

Week 3: The dreaded stall that everyone talks about has happend to me. Only lost 1 lbs this week! (22 lbs in 3 weeks) Heard this can last for up to 2 weeks....hope not! Will stay off the scale for an entire week or I'll drive myself crazy!

Finally 2 weeks post surgery! I try to set a goal each day and today's goal is to remember to eat. ... guess my sleeve is really working!

Surgery 6 weeks ago today! It's still so surreal...the whole taking out 85% of my stomach thing... It still hasn't hit me that this is a life change and I will never go back to eating like how I did before. But when will it start becoming comfortable to eat? I still feel like whenever I eat anything I have to get up the nerve to do it because of the discomfort I feel as its going down. Am I possibly eating too fast still?

Been stalled since adding full liquids on Monday, so frustrating!! Working out daily and tracking calories but the scales won't move. So maddening...

Today is my 1 month surgerverasary!!! This has been the longest month food wise but I do not regret a day. I totally look at food differently, i have more energy, my clothes fit lighter, and I am down 24lbs.
I have been on a stall for the past week, hopefully it ends soon

I am so glad you are also doing well!!! I still have some nasty gas pains. I hope they go away soon. How are your incisions? I am a little sore around the main port site. Are you having any protein drinks yet? I started yesterday to add protein drinks with my clear liquids. I feel much better doing that. i have lost about 17 lbs in total from the start of the pre-op diet (I did two weeks of it). So I am pretty happy with the results so far.
Keep in touch!!

The baby in the pic is my youngest. The pic was taken at their birthday party when he turned one. All of my babies were born in November, so we do one party for all three. I wonder how long that will last? lol.
I'm feeling really well now that I'm on full liquids. How are you feeling Christina? You're already in onderland! Woo hoo!
Sleeve 4 me, you are in my prayers. I can't wait to hear from you after surgery.

I made my decision to do this in less than a month and then booked an apt. and did the surgery two weeks later. I had surgery on July 8th 2010 and have now lost 26 pounds already.
I went on my own which was scary but it was the best thing I ever did - time to heal with no one to worry about. Hospital is in a plazza in Tijuana but it is super clean - small though but they keep you there minimally and take you to the Recovery House. They took such good care of me it was beyond my expectations.
Dr. Ponce does not speak English but Dr. Battincourt (retired now at age of 30 something - doing well with this venture) will translate. Nurses there were awesome - wrap your legs up tight before surgery, IV went in like a charm.

Going okay, experiencing some frustrations with losing so slow it qualifies as a stall. Missing raw fruits and vegetables. Being in NorCal for vacation and not being able to partake of the Farmer's Markets = sad for me!

Kim,
I was so scared to tell my family. My dad is an army man. He did thirty years between the Army, Army Reserves and National Guard. He still loves to run at 66. He's also into all natural eating (though he has a sweet tooth and pastries are his downfall). But he hardly reacted at all. He told me to do what I thought I needed to do. He told me he was worried about scar tissue (I had three c-sections). And he didn't protest when I had to "borrow" my mom from him for three weeks to help with my recovery. You'd be surprised. I got positive reactions from almost everyone I told. Besides, if you've prayed and feel at peace with it, no one can deter you. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Hey - I had the surgery appt last Wednesday and hope to hear back from them soon to get a tenative surgery date. Then start in with the preop stuff. Hopefully by the end of September I will get my surgery date. This is a big week for my son, me and my husband. My son starts kingergarten so it has been kinda of hectic right now. Not to mention I am a little sad that my baby has grown up and going to school now.
How is things going with you? I hope that everything is not too bad, but the stuff we all go through, I know in the end it will all be worth it. Hope to hear from you soon.

I am right in the middle of the two week pre-op diet. It was suggested to only do a week, but I thought that I would try two weeks. It's been a little harder than I thought. I have forgotten what it's like to feel hungry...lol.. The hardest part for me was giving up coffee. I hanging in there.

Hi there, and many thanks. I'll add you to my friend's list so you can view my photos. To upload your picture to your post, go to USER CP at the top, and on the side hit Edit Avatar, you'll upload a picture, and it will appear with your posts.
Stalls are normal, but just be patient and know that you will succeed. I feel amazing now, and love being skinny. It's just a great life, and the sleeve gave it to me.

I'm doing great! I can easily meet my protein and liquids and I'm down 35 lbs. 10 was pre-op. I'm going back to work today. wish I had another week off
I was weepy too! I was watching the show Ruby my second day home and cried like a baby, it was so weird, but it all gets better. The hardest part for me so far is learning my new tummy and watching other people eat. I have no regrets though. I hope the rest of your recovery goes well, you'll feel like yourself in no time.
