It's been 3 months for my and I am losing about 9 pounds a month. I had 4 weeks where I lost nothing but just kept my chin up. As long as I don't gain, I am happy.

Memorial day...to date I have lost 74 lbs. Life is getting better by the day. Can't ask for better than that. Weight loss is slower powst-op than I thoguht, but the weight did not come on overnight, so what can I expect? I am working out 3 days per week, mostly water aerobics. Only 3 times that I have had food stuck and it made me sick, so now I am being extra careful. I want to succeed and have no isses. I want to be at goal I by Christmas. I have redone my wardrobe already once, and getting ready to do it again within the next month.

Well I was just banded the 17th. I lost 34 pounds before surgery and only 5 since the 17th. Its kind of frustrating, but I cant expect much, all i did for the first week was lay around and recover. I need to start working out. Im looking forward to being able to eat normal foods * one more week* so I can make better choices and I need to start working out and then hopefully I will start seeing the scale move a bit more!

Hey, just checking on your progress, I have a question, my scars are new, I'm only 4 weeks out, what did you do for your scars, everyone says Mederma, I was wondering what you use because I see no visible scarring! Thanks!

Well the MRI showed nodules all over my head.. they don't think they should be bothering me but since they are they are removing one next week in surgery to take apart and check out see what is up... a little nerve racking.... but all the times I am feeling up to it I do my 30 to 40 min.. which is about 3 to 5 times a week.. still at a stand still with losing.. but I know the stress does not help so I am not worried right now

Weeks 3-4: 1.5-2 oz. of soft, moist protein (meat, eggs, fish, poultry) 3x/day/ bariatric multivitamin
Weeks 5-6: All protein allowed--2 serving 3x/day; bariatric multivitamin
Weeks 7-8: 2-2.5 ounces protein 3x/day; bariatric multivitamin
Week 9: 2.5 ounces protein 3x/day; bariatric multivitamin
Week 10-11: 2.5-3 ounces protein 3x/day, add 1/2 cup nonstarchy veggies 1x/day; bariatric multivitamin

Hello, Jasmine
I am new to the group. I had surgery Febuary 15, 2010 and I saw your post and wanted to introduce myself since we had surgery the same week. Look forward to following "our" progress.

How you doing, Bubba? I've been feeling the Bandster Hell the last week or so. Back on my blood pressure/water pills.
I think I'm more hungry now then before my fill. Could be just the water bloat (I hope). Can't wait until my 2nd fill in June!! Hope you're well! Chat ya soon! Tina

Hi. I'm pretty new to this site and still trying to figure out how the messaging/friend thing works...
I'm in central VA. I'm guessing the "72" in your name is the year you were born...Me too. :smile2: Your family picture is sweet. My family is similar. One girl (almost 4) one boy (almost 19 mos). Looks like you recently had surgery. I'm 10 months out. It's going slowly, but going. My 5th fill is next week. Still glad I did it, but it is certainly a long learning process (moreso than I thought it would be) despite all the pre op preparation and 15 yrs clinical nutrition experience. All I can say, is stick to the guidelines as much as possible. I tend to fall off the bandwagon a lot since I don't have full restriction yet, but I know eventually, I will reach my goals.
Hope you're enjoying the mushy stuff! I know it was great to get a little texture back in my diet. Best of luck!

Wow, you look amazing. Can you let me know what exercises you are doing for how long and how many times a week? thanks, m-

I'm doing quite well. My first fill is 6 weeks post off, so I think thats some time at the end of June. I am also fighting the head hunger, but I just keep reminding myself that I didn't do this to mess it up.
I have talked to other gals who had the surger and their docs ok'd soft foods after a week or so, so since mine wont do it, I kinda cheated with poached eggs today and some thicker soups. My doc didnt even want me to blend anything... get real!! hehe
Well I am glad to hear that you are doing better, keep me posted on your post op process.

Well for my meals i do make healthy food choices, and as for my protein intake i make sure that every meal i have has some type of protein, so that does include 2 protein shakes a day, but if i don't drink my shakes i get tempted to eat more during my meals... i feel i have no restriction though so i cant wait till i get a fill. My weight is still the same for past two weeks i also workout 3 x a week on the elliptical for 30 min and do weights as well... so that is why i am getting a little discourage...so will see i am hanging in there!!

Hey! I was suppose to be on a liquid diet for two weeks but I started eating soft foods 5 days early. The doctor himself said most people can not wait that long. I did see that if you eat mash potatoes that can be filling for you if your still on liquids and all. I first tried scrambled eggs. Now I can eat just about anything but I watch my porportions. I get filled monday and can't wait. I have lost so far close to 25 pounds all together! Hoping that I don't gain any of it back by next monday!

Hi, I haven't been on line much. I had a horrible surgery. The dr perforated my bowel during surgery and I had to have a second emergency surgery the next day to repair it. I was in the hospital for 5 nights and 1 of those nights they put me in intensive care. I am feeling better now, but its going slow for me. I have started to eat solids this week, and everything is staying down fine. I really don't have much of an appetite yet, and I am hoping it lasts because after all I have been through, I honestly don't want to get a fill for awhile. I am working on getting my positive outlook back. I am sure once I start feeling better, I'll be back to my old self again. I am down about 24-25 lbs which is nice, but I still am having lots of second thoughts about this whole thing right now. I am just so afraid of needing another surgery! Anyway, how are you doing?

I just got my band on May 4th and the hardest part is not to expect too much. I have lost 14lbs and keep thinking it should be more and I am doing something wrong, it has only been two weeks! I know it will come!

Hey Heather,
Just wanted to check up and see how you were doing. I joined a gym but can't go until my three week visit. I am amazed at how the soreness has all but gone. I hope your doing as well. Let me know. Mikissa

Hi Newmsa
I am 5'5" and went into surgery at 201 so a BMI of about 34. Tried and tried and tried and just couldn't change my eating habits for long, couldn't stop at just 1 or 2 cookies. This surgery forces me to do just that. I have lost 10 lbs within the first 10 days and know it is slowing so am staying away from the scales. Need to start exercising to get it moving again. Food is 80% of weight loss. I used to do a serious boot camp 5 days a week and didn't lose a bit - just goes to show.

The port site is the most tender part and the only real pain I have right now. I took 2 weeks off because I work at Verizon Wireless and am on my feet there at least 9 hours a day. When is your surgery date again? As long as you have like 4-5 days off I would think you would be ok at a desk job. Sitting up is hard the first couple days. Keep me posted on how it goes!! I'm sure you are getting excited!
