  1. I"m happy that your home and feel well. I want 2 get it over with my self. i went to my last visit on the on the 17th a week ago just waiting for approval. I have aneta ppo. How long did you wait from your last visit?I hope i can have it b4 the 1st. Can you see of feel the port? Have you been up walking around?

  2. Had my band put in the 20th of July. I fell a lot better i have lost a total of 20 lbs in 3 weeks i had a little pain in my left shoulder every thing seem to be working the way to should

  3. Hi Kakki! I love your name by the way. :o) I, too, am really tired of the protein stuff. I was using the ATkins shakes, but almost 3 weeks of those things makes my throat close up. I bought some new protein powder at Target today and mixed it with 8 ounces of skim milk and put some splenda in it and ice and it tasted like ice cream. My little one even liked it. He's my taster LOL. Also, there are some really good sugar free syrups out there that are different flavors like peanut butter and mint and a lot of other flavors that are pretty good in the protein mixes. Let me know if you try any of those.

  4. Hi Jessi! Good to hear from you. I'm doing alright. I saw my nutritionist today and I've lost 6 lbs. since I saw her a month ago. At least I'm heading in the right direction. Next week I get my second fill. I hope it helps more than the first fill did. How are you doing lately? Any complications? Are you in bandster hell right now (hopefully not!) or feeling restriction? I hope everything is working really well for you. Stay in touch. :) Willow

  5. i decided that if the band wasnt going to do it i would. so i got gym membership and started swimming. yes its emabarassing to be in a swim suit, but i promise nobody is going to say anything! i started swimming 3 - 4 times a week, and walking everyday about 2 miles. i cut the mash potatoes and bread, and started making myself soups, with veggies, lentils, beans, any protein sourse, i cut meat, and started making fish, and i have not had a bite of bread since march, once i started doing this the pounds shed off. heres my last piece of advice. DONT weigh yourself everyday! its not steady. and it only made me feel depressed. weigh only once a week, or once every 2 weeks. i have lost 94 pds. but its been hard work, and dedication.gastric bypass is the easy way out, give this a chance you can do it! may God bless you on your journy.

  6. Hi You are a sweetie!!! Yes, I have been planning my Birthday Vacation. I am very Well Thanks for asking. How are you my fine friend? I had some fish yesterday day I know it was a no no but I was ok with it I chewed real well and cut it into tiny pieces. I just needed to chew something. I have done well on the almost two week liquid thing. I am getting sick of it now, how about you? How is your MOM? My sister has been keeping mine busy for a few days now she is well. I see my Dr. on Friday. I think I can now feel what is inside of me and it kinda gives me the creeps when I think about what I have done to myself. I needed another tool and I hope this one works if I work at it. I have been walking 30 mins. a day briskly. Other than that, glad we are pals thanks. Please let me know how YOU are doing OK

  7. Hey you, actually haven't been on the site much, we are moving to New Mexico this week, which actually has NOWHERE to get filled....grrr. Right now I am pretty tight, but going to leave it there since I don't know when I can get to a band-friendly state. How are you doing so far?

  8. Have you read J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series? It's awesome! I hope they eventually make them into movies. I haven't read Twilight yet but I think I might. I saw the movie and I actually really liked it.

     

    See, I've never PB'd or slimed. I do sometimes get some pressure in my chest if I eat too fast or take to big a bite though. I don't stay full for 4 hours like they say, even when I have solid protein. I got a fill today so I'm at 7.3 cc. I hope this one does the trick.

     

    I'm what I call an inconsistent exerciser. I will do it 4 times one week and then none the next, then 2 times the week after that. I know I need to be better about it. I'm hoping to be 185 by my b-day so here's hoping!!

  9. Im preop. i hopefulyl will be having the surgery in september. it's hard Im 382 so they wanted me to lose 40 lbs before surgery. I've started a 6 week diet and the first 2 weeks are all liquid and I'm dying because it's 4 ensures/glucerna or protein shakes not to exceed 1000 calories per day and 2 cups of vegetables.   10. hi janice, not doing too bad been having my homemade mushed up soup but going onto the soup which is less blended now.also had a small portion of tatties and mince the other day that was left over from jakes tea went down no probs.

    i am feeling hungry but do tend to fill up reasonably quickly without over eating etc.

    had a treat on sat night a small pkt of chocolate buttons they were mmmmm!lol

    im gonna try possibly a fish pie later in the week see how i get on....what u thinking of having rest of the week?>

    no drink yet but i do have a stag do next sat so will be having a few then i would def think!!

  11. Hey :) Things are going ok here...Im trying to stay on my gym routine but haven't been to the gym in over a month ugh! My dad passed away on may 30th so I've been down in the dumps for a while :( But I'm hoping to get back on track by the end of the week...I've only lost about 5 pounds the past month.

    How are you doing? Did the surgery go ok? How was your trip back to the states? Mine was a little bumpy. Three hour flight back to Chicago and we hit turbulance for about 20 minutes. I felt very nauseated. I held on until we got to the baggage claim and then lost it. I started vomitting...Then got very scared that I had made the band slip or damaged my stomach! I called my Doctor and he told me if it had slipped I wouldn't be able to swallow liquids or saliva. He thought that I would still be ok. Once we got to my car we had a dead battery and I was still facing a 3 hour drive home from the airport. The 3 hours turned into 5 because I kept getting car sick and we would have to wait until my stomach calmed down before we could drive again! Hope your trip was better then mine! Let me know how you are doing.

  16. OMG!!! Your pictures are great! Hi! I'm Kim, a math specialist from Texas. I was banded on April 9th and have lost 37 pounds so far. I've had one fill and will get another one in about 3 weeks. Please let me know what has worked for you!

  17. It's going well now. It reminds me of that cliche motto for rehab, "It works if you work it." (Haven't been through rehab, but a friend has and we spent a good while mocking the obvious statement.) I lost about 30 lbs before I started eating fast food again. The portions were smaller, of course, but it's still high-fat food, so the weight loss was less and less. I got banded 12/30/08 and finally hit my -50lbs mark this week. But I'm pretty excited, because I lost 5 lbs (total, not each) these past 2 weeks just from not eating fast food junk anymore! LOL! I've also buckled down and gotten serious about working out. I can handle two days in a row, but have to take a break the third day and then start over again, lol. I did three days this week, but am gonna work up to five days for a while.

  18. That's awesome. I know I was excited when I got my date for the surgery. They are doing it differently now though because I knew mine after my first appointment with Dr. Lutfi. Erin will have you go on a 2 week liquid diet pre op. I did the slim fast low carb and lost 20 pounds. I bought a case of 15 from Sam's club for about $20. Then after surgery I bought the sugar free jellos and sugar free popsicles. I had broth too. You will be on clear liquids the first 2 weeks then full liquids. On the full liquids I had the slim fast and the 80 calorie yogurt , jello, sugar free pudding. I even made egg white scrambled and added a slice of fat free cheese. Just wanted to give you an idea of what to look forward to post op. I got my staples out a week after surgery and was told I could exercise again. I walk and go to the YMCA. My seminar was Feb 17, my consultation was in March, that day I got my surgery date of May 18 so yeah you are close. I am excited for you.

  19. You are so sweet---yes I have 2 more weeks. You are done to 12 days!!! ;-)!!! I'm starting to get a headache from all of these test. I'm nervous about my ekg because it has been abnormal in the past due to a minor heart murmur. I promised myself that I will not worry. I'm sure it will all workout. I've seen websites were you can discuss your lapband journey. I was thinking about doing that but I'm very skeptical about putting my picture up. Afraid someone may see me. Living in MD you know this metro area is very small...

  20. Hey! How are you? I am 2 days away from surgery---- lost 11.5 lbs since a week ago Sunday! I am very excited...let me know how u are doing!! Recovery go well?

  21. I think that the only reason I was able to do the liquid diet was because I was afraid of complications with the surgery, so that kept me in check. After the surgery, I went back to classes the next day, I was sore, but it wasn't too bad at all. The first 2 weeks after surgery, I didn't feel hungry at all, so it wasn't hard to not eat solids at all. I barely ate anything at all because I felt really full and uncomfortable even after a couple of spoonfuls of soup.

  24. I'm lucky I got a picture of myself for the avatar! No idea how to use the weight ticker thing. If you figure it out, let me know. I have not microwaved the egg beaters. I'll have to try it. I havent lost any weight this week, granted I havent gained any either. I'm a tad disappointed but at least I'm not gaining. And I'm doing the regimen the nutritionist gave me. So I trust them. I'm just so impatient about the weight loss. Have a great weekend!! IT's finally not going to rain in Boston this weekend, so I plan on enjoying the sun! Jen

  25. ur such a big inspiration.. wen did u get the band put it.. i am going to see my doctor next week to get this started and after seeing your pics and everything i know that it is possible.. Ur very beautiful and congrats on your loss hopefully one day i can do the same
