Thank you so much for your comment on my profile pic. My weight loss was very slow, it was hard to watch others lose so much faster, but I finally feel like I"m getting there now. Good luck to you too!

Hello,
I actually saw you post something on another person's page and I was wondering..... I just got banded on 5/20 and I have lost 10 lbs post-op and 6 pre-op so thats 16lbs total. Buuuuuut now I am on puree and for whatever reason have not lost anymore weight!!! I'm super upset about it because I liked stepping on the scale every morning seeing another lbs gone.... any suggestions... I try to get my protein in but its rather hard with the amount of space I have. I have also noticed today that I can eat more than usual... I can't wait to get a fill!!! Thanks for your help! ttyl

Hello,
I had my surgery on May20th and I am starting to feel better mentally and physically now. I'm not going to sugarcoat anything it was wayy harder than I expected! It's painful after the surgery ( mainly the incisions sites). I am sooo happy that I did it though. I am very proud that I made the decision and now I am looking forward to my first fill. I lost 6 lbs pre-op and then since my surgery I've lost another 10 lbs... I am now on the puree diet and I haven't really lost any weight since. My doctor informed me that once my band/stomach recover from the surgery I will have little to no restriction on eating. I'm trying to start exercising by walking now because I don't want to push it. Feel free to ask ANY questions! I don't mind at all..... I'm glad I came to this forum because it really helps to have people to talk to. Talk to you later!! Good Luckkk I am super excited for you!!

I Minnesota. First of all if you want to ask questions and have people post to your blog you need to let people comment. After your ticker is set up in your signature you don't have to copy and paste. You can change it and it will change it in your signature. You will never need to copy and paste again, even if you change your weight or ticker style.
Good luck!

Hi Jenni! I am so glad to hear from you! You were in my thoughts on Wednesday and Thursday and then to get a note from you, how cool. I have already had my 2nd adjustment. I went at six weeks po and I am needing another one now. I will call on Monday to see if I can get in on Wednesday. I was going to ask Dr. Feiz how you were doing......How is life with your second adjustment? I felt more restriction with it for about 2 1/2 weeks then I was able to eat more again but I have kept it to a minimum of food intake. I am still not drinking enough water nor am I exercising enough but I am down 30 pounds. How is your weight loss going? How is work going?
How was you visit with Dr. Feiz? Did he find anything wrong with your tummy?
Thanks for getting in touch! I will be talking to you again soon! Cheryl

I had my lap band surgery on may 5th and find i can eat anything w/out really feeling a restriction. My first fill will be on june 8th. I hope that will really be when the weight loss starts. I've lost 10 pounds so far because I am making an effort to eat less and exercise. Is this typical?

Hey Anya. I am having a MUCH better time now. I have restriction. I am having a hard time eating in the morning, as I've said. My protein shake holds me until lunch time. For lunch I find that I can only eat about a cup of food. This holds me until dinner time. In the evening I feel like I can eat a little more.Great job on the weight loss! With almost 40 lbs gone, I would be surprised if your husband can't tell. It is hard to explain what the tightness felt like. It felt like whatever I swallowed went half way down my throat but then it was stopped by a HUGE bubble of air. Sometimes it did feel like when something gets stuck. I didn't get to see Dr. H. I think they said he was coming in the following day.I can't wait to see him again. I feel more comfortable with him I think. And you are right... he does give better shots. Have you noticed any difference with this new fill? Do you go to any support meetings or do you have any friends that are banded? Keep up the good work!

Hey there! Congrats again on your approval! A July date isn't so bad, I just found out today that after the last of my tests are completed and pending insurance approval, I'm looking at a September date:thumbdown: I guess my surgeon is booked out that far. So you weight 239 right? How tall are you ? I'm 5'2" and 235. I'm nervous about getting approved because I have comorbs but not THEIR comorbs. I have high cholesterol, acid reflux/GERD, sleep hyponea(not apea, but almost) and joint/back pain. I've heard its hit and miss with Tricare...some people get approved with no problems and others get flat denied! Anyways, good luck!:smile2:

Continued (message was too long). That's what I'm giving her for her 50th birthday -- a new and improved older sister. We lost our mom 5 years ago and they lived next door to each other and it was very hard on her and I know she's worried about my weight for years. She's an RN so she knows all the risks. She and my brother never had a weight problem -- I was always the fat sister (and middle child). Hoping you are feeling much better when you read this. Linda

Wow,
you really have had great success with your lap band.
How did you do it.?? Did you exercise and stick to your nutrion plan...I am considering having the band or the gastric bypass...we are the same age and I am close to your start weight! If I can work it like you did! THanks for the posted photos they are very encouraging!

Girl, I am haning in there. My weight loss is actually going well. 15 more pounds and i will have lost 100 lbs. Yay!! But now I got other issues brewing. It's always one or the other. I am either happy with myself and everthing else is crappy or everything else is going well and I am unhappy with me. One of these days they will both be on good terms!! lol. How are you? You doing well? You are looking good, Ms. Mami Caliente.

Hi Dani! I had my 3rd fill yesterday (Thursday too). I'm up to 6cc's and finally feeling some restriction. I want to get this weight off at a faster rate than what it is coming off since the surgery but maybe that will be taken care of with this fill. My port can still be pretty touchy at times but it seems manageable. How about you? Can you tell had the fill Thursday?

Hey there, just checkin in on ya! How are your incisions! How are you doing on the weight loss front? I hope things are going well !

I am down a total of 25 lbs from my pre-op until my 1 week post op check up... then in the last week I have gained 1 lbs back since adding soft foods which didn't impress me. My daughter is having a tough time not being able to be picked up and carried around all the time... but everyone is VERY excited for me. I am sorry to hear you have been in so much pain. I am glad to hear though that you are feeling better. When and where do you get your first fill? I am excited to hear your new job is going GREAT! It's great that you don't have to tell anyone about your surgery yet they can watch the weight fall off of you!
How exciting!! I am glad all is well and look forward to seeing some of your progress pics and success along our journey!
Have a wonderful and stress free week!!!

Hi Laura!
How are you doing? I know it's been a busy time for you. I hope that are doing well. I am doing pretty good. I had my 2nd fill on 5/11/09, .5cc fill (total of 3.5 cc). The first week I felt improved restriction, but now it feels the same as the first fill. I have noticed that I can eat slightly more food that when I first got the fill. I have been yo-yoing with the weight loss as well. 2 lbs. up, then 2 lbs. down, etc. It's frustrating. I am scheduled for a 3rd fill on 6/22/09, but I am thinking of going back sooner. I hope this is all normal and trying to keep my head up and keep on going! I am loving that I am dropping sizes and feeling better everyday! Have to count your blessings where you can!
Write me when you can!
Shelley : )~

Yes, we'll definitely keep in touch. I had been at the same weight for about a month and had missed a fill appointment. But when I went in last week & got my fill, things really started moving in the right direction. Going back this Wednesday to weigh in . . . pray for me!!! It's a great feeling, though. Like you said, despite the slow process, I'm really grateful to be losing real weight. And fitting into smalleeeeeeeeeeeer clothes, Sister!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got your message this time!! I don't know what happened , maybe it is the weather. Boy!! You sure are doing good in your weight loss! And you did that without a fill!! That is awesome! I sort of dread my fill, I DON'T like needles! Of any size, but if it helps me lose some more weight, I'll try not to be a big baby about it! Well I need to go, I'll catch up with you next wkend!!

Hi from Australia. I was rejected for back surgery last tuesday because my surgeon says it would be safer to operate on me if I can lose some weight first. I just read your story & now wonder if trying Optifast 1st may be easier to try being a liquid diet... rather than cutting back on normal food? I have so much back pain & sciatica now & need slow release 'Oxycontin' plus Panadeine Forte for pain as well. Would taking slow release meds be a problem after being banded?

55 lbs lost but I have skipped out on my workouts the last two weeks. I am 5 lbs behind my goal weight, but that's my fault. I better pick up the workouts again!
