abbypoo, I have not been on for so long! How are you doing? I am down 31 lbs, as of today and I have 8cc of my 14 cc band filled. I am finally in the "green zone"; lsoing weight, eating healthy and getting full and don't think if food all the time because I am satisfied! It took 4 fills before I got to this point and my last fill was about 6 weeks ago. I definitely have a lot more restriciton now and I eat at a much slower pace so as not to have any problems! Getting banded was the best thing I ever di for myself.

Hi Fredicole2001,
I'm doing well, thanks. I've lost 28 lbs and go for my first fill on 11/30. I'm thinking that more lbs will really start coming off then. In the meantime, I've just been concentrating on eating the right foods and staying away from junk. Upcoming challenge = Thanksgiving:-) Let me know when you are approved.

Hi. I just read your thread. It sounds to me like you need to have some of the saline taken out of your band. If you feel uncomfortable, and cannot enjoy food, than something is wrong.
I had a really bad weekend last weekend, it started Friday night, i ate a corn tortilla tostada shell, and it got SOOOOOOO stuck, it screwed me up for 3days, everything I ate got stuck. If felt the same way as you.. Like what have I done to myself? I went back to softer foods this week, and I am feeling much better.
Do you mind if I ask? How much have you lost total, to date?
-
thanks caldwell, I have to say I followed the band rules especially no pasta, rice or carbonated beverages since those can stretch your pouch. I also never ate more than a cup of food at a time. Also getting your fills and excercizing as much as possible.

Thanks so much for your encouragement to know things will get better. I have had this problem for a very long time and just knowing something will be done about it gives me alot of comfort. I have given up any type of spicy food(s) all together due to my hernia. It would be a treat to eat something and not to fear the after affect. I really can't wait until am approved (banded) for a lot of different reasons.
Again, thanks. How long have you been banded and your total weight lost?

Wow you got surgery 10 days after me and you already feel no restriction? I know 10 days ago I was still having trouble getting most foods down. Now though I am definitely getting hungry and am able to squeeze in too much.
I will definitely keep you posted and let you know how the first fill thing goes!

Thats great! Im glad your feeling full. I am getting another fill in 3 weeks. I hope I can make it and actually manage to drop some weight in between time! Anyway..peanuts are the devil! Be careful not to eat too much peanut butter, high in fat, carbs, calories. Although it is a "healthy" food, Its not to good for the "lap band" way of life...

HI! Glad to hear from you! I have been close to stalled for the last two months. I went to the dr and was surprised that I was down 8lbs. But than I got an even bigger surprise....get ready......I'm six weeks pregnant! I am soo shocked. I was just banded in November and got pregnant in December. I have no Idea what my lap band surgeon is going to think about this. I should call him today. But, we are happy. Scared because I am still so heavy, have diabetes and high blood pressure but, happy. My sugars and bp have been good and I'm on medications that are safe to take while pregnant thank goodness. I have never prayed more than I have in the last week
Going to have to work really hard at food choices now. I should have known something was up when all I want to eat is malt o meal. Ha! I wonder if they will want to empty my band, I hope not. I am able to eat about two cups at a time. sigh..this is very big news in my life. I want to loose about 100 too. Thanks for staying in touch.

Hello Chaval,
I was happy you wanted to be a friend. (smile)! I had an appointment this morning with my Dr. and he encouraged me to be patient. The six months will fly by before I know it. He also wanted me to start using behavior as if the band was already in place. One of the biggest things was no water while eating and smaller portions. It's funny becasue as a child my mother did not allow us to drink while eating. She did it to encourage us to eat all of our food. Therefore, I have never really had anything to drink while I ate. So, little things like that will help the process go a lot faster in the long run.
I pray everthing goes well with your insurance. Hopefully the wait will not be that much longer for you. Soon enough we both will be enjoying the band life. Good luck and may God bless you every single step of the way.

Ok, bought everything I need, tomorrow preparing food for my 2 week pre-op diet. This is the ONLY time i've been excited to go on a diet!!!
-
Sometimes it still amazes me how satisfying a small portion of food can be. Now if I can just get satiety to last more than 2-3 hours, I'll finally be in the green zone.

I'm changing the location of our meeting from PF Changs to the food court at the Tyler Mall, Riverside. There are different places to choose from PLUS there will be enough room for all of us to sit together (right now we have 8 +), PLUS we can take as long as we would like . We are still meeting at 11 am.

Hey Becca, I haven't been too tired. I've felt fine, in fact. Regarding food, I've been on mushies for a week now, so I haven't had any problems (but I also haven't tried any new foods). I think if you want to try something new, maybe try it in the evening when you aren't at work if you are concerned.

Hey Deb, If you have time, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind telling me some of the typical foods that you are eating now that you're a little farther out...my body is really stalling on me, and I am curious what others are doing who are still steadily losing weight! Any thoughts?

Yes, I go for my final weigh in and final lab slip today after work. I'm hopeng for a big loss. I've been on the dietary suppliment since Dec 2. I feel like i've lost a lot and I have not had one morsel of food that wasn't in my package.
I'm looking forward to the sexy mama stage. You don't even look fat in your picture???
