    Clothing for Hospital

I would add, a bottle of water for the ride home. Especially if you have the scopolamine patch. (This is especially true if you’re out patient like I was) that patch gives you cotton mouth so bad.

    Weight loss stall

I’m having the same issue. Currently at week 8 here. Been bouncing up and down around a lb for a while. Prior to hitting onederland I was losing consistently too. I’m also walking 2miles a day but haven’t been tracking food. Fingers crossed this breaks soon!

    Timeline for Revision process?

I made contact with my surgeons office and my first consult was 3/9/17. My approval came through in July and I was originally scheduled for surgery 7/18 but had to push back due to moving. Had my surgery on 8/8/17. From 3/9 until request for approval in the beginning of July I had 4 appointments with the surgeon with weigh ins, 3 NUT visits (which I didn’t realize I needed until a month before approval so squeezed them in a month. A Whole host of tests as required by my surgeon. And then I was approved within days of it being submitted. I have Aetna pos II, my revision was band to SIPS DS all at the same time. Good luck

    Should I be concerned? Incisions...

Me too, can’t wait for it to be over. I’d love to soak in a tub!
  7. Two of my incisions keep opening. Morning they're sealed then by afternoon they're open. No pain, no fever. They're not warm to the touch or sore. They're a little weepy but it's not thick like pus. My surgery was almost a month ago. Should I be concerned?? Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6ish HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 206 GW: Healthy

    Should I be concerned? Incisions...

One has finally scanned over. The big one on the left side I still have covered, I shower and debride. The doc said it will take weeks. That it won’t look like much is happening then suddenly it will look closed up. I guess if I had to have a complication of sorts this would be the better one to have...

    Flatulent and fretful

For me the gas in the day was really painful. Then by night when I’d lay down and my body relaxed they’d all start letting loose. Most satisfying feeling ever.

    Flatulent and fretful

It is a strange nasty musky odor. Ever since my original wls the torture band, I have been a total gasbag. Since 2010 I’ve burped and farted more than my previous 30+ years of life combined lol so this transition wasn’t too shocking to me in the gas department.

    Eating is a chore

Nice! I didn’t get purées til week 5! It was a long long 5 weeks. Now I’m just waiting on week 9 to get here to begin solid foods!
  13. I’m so sorry that you are dealing with this. How stressful. [emoji25]. Have you thought about changing pcps (again) I don’t what kind of doctor says I’m going to ruin your day, drop a bomb on you and then leave you hanging. It’s your right to get a second opinion. I hope everything turns out ok 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

    Best Scale to Buy

I have a Weight Gurus scale. I love the app because it tells me so much detail. There's graphs, your weigh in streaks etc... I included a pic of what I see when I open my app. It's just helpful info

Charcoal pills! They help absorb the gas... They saved my *ss the first few weeks LOL I don't need them anymore.

    Got my date

Good luck to you. As it was already posted, walking is the best thing for you. So totally helps with the trapped gas. Gas kicked my *ss those first few weeks. My doc told me to get charcoal pills. I was never so happy to rip a toot in my life. hahaha good times I tell ya

    Eating is a chore

I understand your pain. It was like that in the beginning for me too. I'm just on the "soft food stage" and life has gotten so much better. Couple more weeks then I can finally eat normal foods.. i.e. chicken, beef etc. Good luck

    Iron infusion

I’m sorry you haven’t received a response. I hope they get back to you soon. My surgeon was the one that wanted me to do it so I can’t imagine it would be a bad thing. Good luck [emoji256]

    Lap Band vs Sleeve

I was banded in 2010 at 239lbs. I only lost in the first few months. My memory is shot but I think my lowest weight was 185ish. Then my gallbladder threw a fit and had to be removed. Once they unfilled my band for surgery that was it. I never could get back into the sweet spot. I couldn’t eat solid healthy foods without stepping away to go vomit up what was stuck. It was embarrassing because everyone knows why you have to leave the table and run to the bathroom. Finally it became too tight and caused heartburn. I never had slippage or erosion. 2017 rolled around and I had enough once water started giving me that stuck feeling. Had my revision consultation at 242lbs. I weighed more than when I went I for my band! I am almost 7 weeks post revision to the single anastomoses duodenal switch and already hit onederland. So freakin happy to have my torture device removed. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to get a band. Just sayin.

    Hospital vs Outpatient

Outpatient here. Had a revision from lapband to SIPS DS in one surgery. [emoji1360][emoji173]️

    Fobi ring

I had to google it. It sounds like a version of a lapband.... no thank you, never again!

    Iron infusion

I had two iron infusions prior to my surgery. It was my surgeon that wanted me to have it done. Now I’m post op and take iron 4x a day.
  23. I had band to SIPS DS revision surgery on 8.8.17 and went home the same day. No overnight stay. You will be ok with one day [emoji4][emoji1360] I did ask my surgeon why no hospital stay and his response was that we get more rest and heal faster at home and have a less risk of infection.
