Hairloss :(
3 months post surgery My hair started to fall out like crazy. It lasted a couple of months and then quit and has come completely back. I have super thick hair tho... so nobody really noticed. But it drove me crazy! My dr. told me that usually after a surgery people will loose their hair. (?)

Protein Shakes
All of them, I tried a couple of different ones. Just couldn't do it. I used the sugar free Carnation Breakfast.

Do Not Want Protein Shakes
Well. I drank a total of 2 in the past 2 years. Hate them. Yes, I absolutely get all of my protien from chewable food.(I track it) My Dr. doesn't want me to get any calories, at all, from liquid (beverages). It's worked for me! Good Luck!

Are You Stretching Your Pouch If...
I think you can with repeated over eating, but supposidly every bite should go through your band before you take the next, if this is true I think it would really take a lot to stretch it. (this is just my thoughts - I could be way wrong) Until I had good restriction I could eat way more than my cup of food. It had been a year since I had a fill... And I had gotten so I could eat quite a bit more food. went in and only had 0.2 cc put in my band. I now have trouble getting a cup of food down. So I don't feel like I have stretched my pouch with overeating. Although it is not something I repeatidly do. Uff... stopping when you are full is still so hard! Ultimately... getting it under control is the only answer for so many reasons. Best of Luck!

3 Slips, No More Band.
So is there no chance, with a complete unfill that it can go back into place? I would be devistated if I lost my band. Wishing you the best.

Frustrated.
I would let it run through the insurance also. It doesn't take that long, a few weeks probably less if they say no! Good luck to you.

No Weight Loss In Over 2 Months
Well, I don't think you need a fill. Yes a tiny bit can make all the difference. I went almost 5 months with out losing an ounce 294.4 every flipping time I got on the scale. I seen my dr. we both agreed I did not need a fill. Seen my nutritionist, she said everything I was doing/eating was great. Exercise - great. She suggested I add strength training to my exercise routine. I joined the "pump it" class twice a week. After the first week I broke that plateau. That was 3 months and 15 pounds ago!

- First Visit Back To Surgeon In A Long Time...
Interesting journey you have had so far. Best of Luck to you!- When Will I Start To Fill Some Restriction???
I was definately lucky as I had restriction right from the start, and I was scared to death not to follow the rules! (unfortunately, the fear has left me) I measure, weigh and log... just like Mis73. It really helps me be accountable. I still struggle with eating just because i want to eat something, not because I'm hungry. Good Luck- When Does Weight Loss Start
I don't believe it is that easy to stretch your pouch. If you have little or no restriction the food is going through relatively easy, you won't stretch it. Even with great restriction it is sometimes hard to quit. I have over eaten many times. I don't feel that my pouch holds anymore than it ever did. While I definately think you can stretch your pouch I don't think it happens that easily. (these are just my thoughts... from my experiences, I could be way wrong) I could definately eat 2 cups at first. Try to fill up on lots of veggies and good for you stuff! Good Luck Also... 1/2 cup is not much food. My dr. thinks you should eat about a cup. They all have very different opinions on many different issues. Listen to your body.- Bariatric Surgery
I've lost 152... 80 to go. Don't doubt it at all! I WILL DO IT! Good Luck!- When Does Weight Loss Start
#1... the nurse is not very bright or educated in the "band" in my opinion. There is no magic # to start to feel restriction. Some people never have a fill and have great restriction, she has no idea that it will take "7" cc for you to get restriction. I think if I had 7 cc's I wouldn't be able to swallow Water little own food! Ok... rant over. It all depends on your body, everybody is different. The only advice I can give you is to follow the lap band rules. protien first, eat slowly, chew well. Really think about your hunger, make sure it is your stomach telling you you are hungry not your head. It will start to move. Make good choices, stay away from junk food. Lots of protien and veggies. I would stress tracking your calories. Log EVERYTHING (ketchup, oil you cook in etc. everything adds up) so you can see exactly how many calories and how much protien you are eating. The weight will start to come off. Exercise is like gas on a fire with the lap band... so get moving. Every little bit helps. It's by no means easy. I have been on a lot of diets and I have never worked as hard at losing weight as I have with the band. Good Luck!- Question R/t Fill
I'd go in and have a little taken out. I had to much after a fill once. I waited a week and it never got better. Went back and had a smidge taken out after a week. - First Visit Back To Surgeon In A Long Time...
