I am very frustrated.I was banded in October and have only lost about 20 lbs. I have to admit I do eat more potatoes and ice cream than I should but was under the impression when I inquired about the band before being banded that it would limit my intake. I am not hungry and do not eat much and most times nothing at all for Breakfast but coffee, lunch I eat moderately and dinner I can eat a plate full of a small size plate (try not to do). Is this normal?

I saw this 17 day diet on Dr. Phil today. Alot of people seem to be excited about it. I was banded in October, 2010 and have only lost 20 lbs. I am very frustrated. I have to admit I do eat more potatoes and ice cream than I should but was under the impression when I inquired about the bad before being banded that it would limit my intake. Excuse me while I toot my own horn a bit, but today I hit the 65 pound mark! Half way to my goal. Banded 10/5, I feel great and I LOVE my band!
Wow. I was banded in October too and have only lost 20 lbs. Are you feeling alot of restriction? I have had several fills and still can eat alot. I have to stop myself.

What does it feel like to be at your sweet spot? I was banded with a realize band on October, 2010. I've had 5 fills so far and am at approx 7 cc's and still can eat almost a plate full of food. I have to stop myself. How much can you eat when you get to your sweet spot? Thanks for your help.

what do you think is the average # of fills a person needs before they are just right? Will I spend the rest of my life filling and unfilling, or will I find that spot and be good for life?
I have a realize band. I had my surgery this past October and have had 5 fills and am still not at that sweet spot but I am getting close. Good luck.

I had my surgery on Oct.25 and haven't had a fill yet. I have no restriction so have to be real careful with amount of food and food choices. Can't wait to feel some restriction. I go back to the doctor on Friday hopefully I will get my first fill. Sounds like it will take 2 or 3 before feeling any restriction.

I was banded on 10/25. My doctor highly recommended ordering a medical Bracelet. Just wondering if most people were getting these?

I was banded on 10/4 and had my 1 week (and 2 day) followup appt. I have been on the scale every day and was upset because I was 1 lb lower yesterday than today and thought I was failing (I am extremely hard on myself and hope learn to cut myself some slack). So, here I was thinking poorly about my loss. When I got weighed at the Dr office I was down 8lbs since my preop appt and 10lbs total since the appt before I started my preop diet. So much for thinking I was failing. What I learned from this is forget weighing every day as it will just cause disappointment in the short run. I am putting up my scale until I am better able to cope with it and will just wait it out until my 4 week post op appt.
Was banded on 10/25 and have lost 11 lbs. Thought I would have lost more considering I've been on liquids for 3 weeks.

How long post surgery did take off work? i'm trying to figure out...everyone says something different. I'm planning on my surgery on a Wed, and returning to work on Monday or Tuesday. I have a fairly light duty physical job at this point. How long did everyone take off?I was out of work for 7 days.

Wow! Its amazing how different all of our post-op instructions are. I was banded Monday so im on Day 3. Clear Liquids only for me for days 1-2, Days 3-14 full liquids (protien shakes), Week 3- Week 6 puree foods only. I can start mushy and solids after 6 weeks. I had a hiatal hernia corrected also though. Im down 10 lbs since I started pre-op diet. Im suppose to walk a little bit every 2 hours. The biggest problem for me now is drinking enough. Congrats to you guys I cant wait to keep on hearing how you all are doing.I had my surgery Monday, Oct. 25th. I also had a small hiatal hernia and the recovery seemed to be harder. I was in alot of pain for 2 days taking tylenol with codine every 3 hours. Did you find your recovery to be harder because of repairing the hernia?

Just had my surgery on Monday and I had a small hernia. Recovery has been tough. More pain than I expected.

Praying for you. I will be having mine on Monday Oct. 25th.

My surgery is the 25th of October. Today was my first day on Optifast and no caffine. Feeling very tired and hungry.

My surgery date is October 25th. I am concerned because I have seen many people on here post about their pre-op diet. The only diet I was told to do was the 2 days before and that is a clear liquid diet. Did I miss something?

I finally got my date today!! Woohoo! Feel like I have been waiting forever. October 18th they offered me the 5th but b/c of my work schedule I could not do it  I feel so much better though that I have a date and can now make plans, with time off work etc...Who else is getting banded in October? I think it will be nice to have others to compare feelings and stories with, as we are going through this.
Good Luck to everyone! New Chapter here I come
My band surgery date is October 25th. I am excited and so ready to do this but have to admit a little nervous.

Thank you all for your responses. New day starting tomorrow. I will get rid of the ice cream and potatoes and start using my food diary again. Big question....if a band is adjusted just right how much should a person be able to eat at a meal?
