  1. I was at a two month plateau, I just made sure I drank a ton of Water daily and it started the weight loss again.

Mom got rid of my thin clothes! so sad

I know it's not the same, but I went out and bought a pair of pants a couple months ago that were too small for me, knowing I'd fit into them soon enough. I try them on every once in a while, this morning as a matter of fact. It gives something extra to look forward to.
  3. After a two month plateau, I'm finally consistently losing again. Feels great.

    Resistance Bands for Weight Lifting

I've been preaching about resistance bands on here before, not sure if many people know how effective they are. Considering how cheap they are, how many different exercises you can do, and they take up zero room....you really can't go wrong.
  5. They put in too much actually, I had to get it completely unfilled two weeks later

    NSV

Oh yeah, and how much do you weigh if you don't mind me asking? I haven't been to Knott's Berry save for the halloween events in a really long time. Worried about fitting on the rides and all that...I don't think I'd have a problem now but you can never really tell.

    NSV

I went to Universal Studios Hollywood a few weeks ago, and went on the Jurassic Park ride. The ride seats five people to a row and it's one lap bar for the entire row. Imagine my surprise when the lap bar didn't stop on me, it stopped on someone else and I actually had room to spare. A lot of room actually. I thought the thing was broken.

    How often do you weigh?

Every day, if I see two days in a row of constant gains I want to scream
  9. Yeah, I've noticed this in the last few weeks. Everyone seems a lot more talkative, and I get compliments on my clothes...even though I've been wearing the same stuff for months...maybe a year even. Overall people are a bit nicer. But lets look at the whole picture here...as we lose weight, we generally gain confidence and are happier with ourselves. We project that outwards and people definitely pick up on that. If you're walking around with your head hung low and frowning, most people will assume you're angry or are just a miserable person. No matter what stage of weight loss you're in, I think we're all walking with our heads held higher and in general are more approachable.

30 Weeks Post-Op: VLOG #2 and What Works for Me.

Please tell me there's some kind of cherry picking tool, because I'm picturing you picking all those by hand and it's even making me tired.

    Full of Doubt

I didn't have to do the six month pre-op diet, but I did try losing the weight on my own after going to all the required meetings. I just had one last thought of "Do I really need to go this far?" I lost about 40 pounds as well, but then in a few months put it back on, and then some more. With the band, I can still eat anything I want. I have to take bread and chicken slower, but I can have as much as I want. My main problem was fast food. I ate it everyday, sometimes twice a day. And it was definitely go big, or go home. I hated healthy foods, and when you're hungry, you want to eat something that you'll enjoy. And you want to eat plenty of it. The band makes it so I can just a little healthy food, and then I'm full and it's on to whatever else I have to do. It is destroying the hold that food had over me. Eating isn't a big deal anymore. Of course, I still spend 1.5 - 2 hours a day working out. So what I'm saying is, you can probably do it on your own, but the band helps a lot of people in a lot of different ways.

    Band isn't working for me

You have to remember that the band is really just there to help curb your appetite and to make sure you don't overeat to a certain point. Calories burned off > calories consumed = weight loss. This is assuming you aren't eating so little that your body is in starvation mode, because then you won't lose anything. Also, make sure that you are getting enough Water each day, water retention can really hold the numbers on the scale back.

    2 Week check -up

You probably noticed it with the wine, but you're going to get tipsy / drunk a lot quicker now. After two beers or so I am more than feeling it. So drinking will be cheaper, at least there's that.

    STAYCATION

Just yesterday I cleaned out my closet too. I bought some storage bins and filled them up pretty quickly with my bigger clothes. I'm not getting rid of anything just yet, they're already stacked in my garage. When I lose more weight, possibly pass the 100lb milestone, that's when I'll get rid of them. But for some reason, can't right now.

Day 5 of Pre op Diet

Milk + very little dextrose (corn sugar) + whey protein (chocolate, vanilla, etc) = almost a milkshake. And it's actually pretty filling. I take the scoop for the whey and use it to scoop out the dextrose. I barely cover the bottom of the scoop and it's plenty, it actually sometimes tastes too sweet. Tastes a million times better than just water and whey.

    Liquid diet starts tomm :)

I remember on my liquid, I would be sitting at work staring out my office window, and all of a sudden get in the worst mood possible. I hated everything. That happened on day two I think, hopefully it passes and your body gets used to it.

    Liquid diet starts tomm :)

Have you tried Isopure protein drinks? Honestly, they don't taste very great but they do fill you up. You can buy them at the grocery store, vitamin store, anywhere really. I only had to do a three day liquid diet, and that was bad enough. Can't imagine doing two weeks.

    Extreme Fatigue

I felt the same way. I pretty much slept the whole week after the surgery. Sleep - wake up - drink something - watch tv - sleep and repeat
  19. Yeah, I get the same thing. I actually got a bad cramp in my port area earlier tonight when I was doing some exercise where I lied facedown on the floor. Seems like I never get traditional cramps from running anymore, the cramps go straight to my port. It's really annoying, and I hope it isn't something I'll have to deal with from now on. But it probably is...

    Psychological problems

Have you told the guys about why you keep the lights off or why you aren't comfortable with them touching you? Asking a guy to put up with it is one thing, but if doesn't know why, then he's going to assume he's the problem. If I were in the guy's position, I'd assume I was the problem and would probably distance myself from you. Some guys will understand and respect it, the others will show their colors soon enough.

    Negativity Stinks

I'm all about being supportive on a support forum. The thing is, some people just need some tough love and reality checks. When you have people admitting they aren't following their doctor's orders "because they can handle it", what are we supposed to say?

    Mindset regarding Exercise and Fitness

The only thing that keeps me motivated is actually seeing results. Scale numbers aside, I wouldn't enjoy the weight training as much if I didn't actually see muscle definition starting to form. It's not a ton mind you, but it's enough for me to know it's working. That being said, I hate doing ab exercises because I can't see any definition there and won't be able to for a very long time. I think for you, the increase every week will help. It'll be your way of seeing progress.

    The Land of Wonderment!

Try eating your bigger meal during the day, not at night. When you eat it during the day, your body has the rest of the day to try to use up some of those calories. When eaten at night, all it can do is digest while you sleep or otherwise take it easy.
