1. As far as broth goes, are you all speaking of just regular chicken broth in the can?
2. I've had a physical, blood work, upper g.i, ekg, chest x-ray, breathing test, psych evaluation and finally on the 12th I'm having a sleep study.....and I'll be done until surgery.
3. My surgery date is 07/11/07, sounds like a pretty lucky date to me. I start my pre-op diet on 06/28. I've been eating pretty lousy lately, but I just bought some atkins and slim fast drinks, I'll start having those for breakfast and see how it goes. I'm also 95% weaned off cokes.
4. My deepest condolences to you and yours. I know it must be a very trying time for you right now. Just keep on trucking and with every pound lost think how proud of you your mom would be.
5. Good. That's just what I wanted to hear. I like the idea of grabbing a can when your on the go and taking them to work with you as well. I'll see which ones I like and stock up. Thanks
6. Hello all.... I start my pre-op diet on the 28th, It's liquids all day with a low fat dinner. I've heard the raves about unjury, so I'll probably order some, but has anyone used the atkins shakes with any success?

10.
Thanks you guys, at leat now I know that I'm not alone. I'll just have to do this for me and not worry about what everyone else thinks. and Laurend.... my word, I know it's not funny but I couldn't help but laugh at what your mother said about, pretend you had the surgery and lose weight that way... mothers... you gotta love em!!

11. Ok all, I finally broke down and told my mother about my surgery. When I told her she actually said, "you don't have to do that, just keep the food out of your mouth" :straight ...I was speechless, I just sat there with this blank expression on my face. Now, my mother is the sweetest person in the world, however she is a bit old fashioned. I tried to explain to her how it works, and how it will help me lose weight and keep it off. She still insists that diet and exercise will do it. Well let me tell you, I've dieted and exercised my way up to being 100lbs overweight. She finally gave up with an "if you insist" type attitude. I absolutely give up explaining this thing to people, I'm so frustrated.
12. Those 8 days will fly past.. Let us all know about it when you get home and feel up to it.
13. Hello all.. just a short update on what's been going on so for. I've have my general checkup, met with the nutritionist and had an upper G.I. done , chest x-ray and blood drawn. Today, I had an EKG, polumanary breathing test and an ultrasound of my heart. I think the only other test I'm waiting on is the sleep study. I know it sounds like a lot, but I just have to keep reminding myself the reason for it all:) . After all this it's finally sinking in that I'm actually going to have this done, and I can't wait.
14. That's great. To the average person that would not seem like a big deal, but for one of "us" to lose 12lbs, and good lord, KEEP it off!!! That's enough to jump for joy.. keep up the good work.
