1. I've read somewhere on here about papya and meat tenderizer. Is it just papya juice? and the meat tenderizer, do you just mix it with water or what? I'm getting all of my things I'll need post-op. I want to be fully prepared for any mishaps. Thanks
 2. By the way, Lynette your day is finally here, Yaaaay:clap2:, I know you can't wait. God Speed and let us know all about it when you can.
 3. Lynette, I never thought of the last "fat encounter".... I can't wait to have mine
 4. They accept medicaid where I am being banded. Dr.Bonomo @ Mercy hospital in Chicago. The seminars are held on the 1st Monday and Third Tuesday of the month. Call his assistant Florence at 312-567-6167 so she can put you down to attend one of the seminars and get the ball rolling.:biggrin1:
 5. Hello all.... I'm on my 3rd day of pre-op liquids and I was doing fine until my FH came in with 2 bar-b-q steak burgers .... If I had killed him I don't think there's a jury out there that would have convicted me. Glad your back and feeling better Dini.
 6. WOW...You guys reaaly did a great job, you both look wonderful
 7. My CPAP machine was delivered yesterday, I slept with it last night and my FH said I did not snore one little bit:clap2:, which is really good because I sound like a buzz saw. I did feel somewhat refreshed this morning I must say. Those of you with the machine, has it made a big difference for you?
 8. Hi Clairabelle, I just started my pre-op yesterday, so I know how you feel. I just chant to myself all day , it's only 2 weeks, it's only 2 weeks. It's hard but you have to stick to your guns. I went to a meeting last week and the nutritionist was saying that the Dr started surgery on another lady and closed her right back up, because her liver was still fatty. We do NOT want that to happen. Can you imagine waking up and having them say, we couldn't do the surgery because you didn't follow instructions:think, I would be devastated, to say the least. I drink my slim fast, fill up on water and crystal light, chew gum and stay busy......WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!
 9. I was just wondering if anyone has lost a significant amount of without having a fill? I read somewhere that there are the "rare" few that lose quite a bit w/o needing a fill. Just wondering if any are out there.
 10. Oh by the way, my CPAP machine was delivered today, can't wait to go bed and try it. Do any of you have it? has it made a difference?
 11. Hey guys, so far so good on my pre-op, no cheats:clap2:.... I see you all mentioned goals, here's mine. 1 - Wear shorts and actually look cute in them. 2- Shop where ever I please.(If I never saw the inside of Ashley Stewerts or Layne Bryant again, it would be to soon) 3- Walk without my feet hurting. 4- Upgrade my sex life. 5- Feel healthier. 6- Cross my legs. 7- Not have people say "but you have such a pretty face".. I hate that. 8- Wear tucked in shirts. 9- Be much, much healthier all around.
 12. Thanks for the support guys....Chimboree I just saw the calendar, that was a wonderful idea.
 13. Congrats to you. One day out and your feeling good, what a blessing.:biggrin1:
 14. Hello my fellow July Bandsters, Old and new... Dini I hope you feel better really soon...... Well.... today is the last day I can eat, I'm having meatballs and mashed potatoes, my last coke and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, for my farewell dinner:hungry:. My fridge is stocked with Slim Fast Optima shakes, crystal light, etc. I am so nervous, I'm afraid I will cheat and ruin everything. I'm hoping I won't, I just have to keep saying it's only for a short period of time, compared to a lifetime of eating crap. Wish me luck.
 15. Yaaaay:clap2::clap2::clap2:.... Your on your way, I'm sure all will go well...keep us updated.
 16. Hi Tinkerbell... You and I are being banded on the same day,,yaaay:)... anyhow... I know how you feel, but I really don't worry about it much, people will be people and we can't change that. Once you lose the weight and people that you know, who have never given you the time of day are all of a sudden being chummy, chummy you know that they are not being sincere in there friendship, you don't have to be rude, but keep you distance. As far as strangers go, and all the xtra attention from men, etc, Just sit back and enjoy it I say, you'll have worked hard for those wolf whistles:D
 17. I know how you feel. When I first decided to have the surgery, I mentioned it to my mom & sisters and they said I didn't need to have it done, I could do it myself, yada, yada, yada. I said if it were that easy, it'd be done already, DUH.....anyway, my surgery date is right around the corner and I've decided not to tell them. I'm an adult and I make my own decisions. If they ask, I won't lie, but I'm not volunteering the information. Bottom line, your doing this for youself, your health and well being, no one elses. One naysayer said to me, people die from those surgeries! my reply was, more fat people die from strokes, heart attacks and lord knows what else every day , what about that? he shut up.
 18. Hello all...I'm here Dini..... my surgery is in 18 days!!!!!, getting closer and I'm so nervous and excited. I start my 2 week liquid pre-op on the 28th. Which means I have to go thru the 4th of July with no bar-b-que and my fiance's birthday with no celebration dinner. I have a question for those already on the liquid diet, which protien drinks keep you full the longest? I will be doing my shopping this week, I want to have an idea on what to buy.
 19. That's wonderful Edie..... Hopefully this time next year, I'll be able to toot right along with you. :biggrin1:
 20. Welcome aboard, we are happy to have you.
 21. I had my sleep study the other day. I slept from 6am to 2:30 in the afternoon. It wasn't too bad, they hooked up a million connectors. I was sleep for about an hour and the tech rushed in and gave the cpap mask, he said I was snoring horribly. When it was done he said he is ordering me my own cpap machine. Hope it works for me, I know I sleep horribly.
 22. I was just telling myfiance that I need to get one of those. Maybe he'll catch the hint and buy me one
 23.

HERE GOES.....

I no longer want to be the "fat" one when me and my friends go out, I want to wear a hoochie mama outfit like everyone else.

Cross my legs

Belly Ring

Upgrade my sex life

Shop for clothes wherever I damn where please

Wear short shorts

sleep better

also, I'm getting married in 08/08, I REFUSE TO BE A FAT BRIDE!!!!!

 24. I'm having a sleep study done at 6:00 in the morning, they didn't have a evening appointment available until after my surgery, so that means I have to stay up all night tonight in order to be able to sleep when I get there. Hope they have something good on t.v tonight, It'll be a long one. I'll let you all know how it went.
