  1. Julie -

You inspire me! I have followed you, watched each of your videos and feel like I have taken this journey with you! SO proud of you and you look healthy and happy! I hope to have the same success as you! I just want to thank you for sharing your journey and story - it is so helpful to those who are pre-surgery and in the middle of their journey too!

Sending my love and continued support your way! Congrats to you!

    Kim

  2. Sending my prayers and best wishes your way! Just went through this with my mother in March. We were lucky - stage 2 - opted for total breast removal and she is now starting hormone therapy - no radiation or chemo needed.

I am having a routine physical today and mamogram next week. Scared me enough to get back on track with my preventive care schedule! Please keep us posted on the course of treatment you elect. Again - hugs and prayers coming your way!

  3. I have been working with a personal trainer 3 days a week and here is what we do on those days...

30 minutes of strength training (weights) then 30 minutes cardio.

She/he (I work with a woman 2 days and a guy one day) both said always do weights first - and it I can only get one thing in to make it the weights because you burn more calories and tone more by the strength training. But I think it really depends on your goals -and the most important thing is that you just get to the gym and exercize!

Here is a good short article on this topic... My link

  4. Congrats! Heres to making Onederland soon! I know who nuts those stalls can make a person - I have had a tuff month of April - I am hoping May will be kinder to me. But always take measurements - because I lost about 5 inches this month - body is just adjusting - and I love it!

Keep up the great work and focus on how cloths fit and how you feel. You are doing wonderful!

  10. Yesterday I made my modeling debut....LOL! We had a spring fashion show for work on business casual wear and I modeled for The Limited. This is something I would never,,,, EVER do before my VSG - but since losing 56 pounds I am gaining confidence! Not to mention it was a ton of fun! Here are a few photos.... One at the salon after hair and makeup (yes we were pampered!) The other me - doing my best Tyra Banks impression! Do they have a Americas Top Model for Middle Aged Women????

  11. Ladies and Gentlemen

I think we all agree to disagree.... on the coordinators that is. But we all agree Dr Kelly is a fine surgeon!

I personally would ask to speak to Dr Kelly and get his take on the entire situation if I was pre-op. I am post op and can only speak from my personal experience - I would not change a thing. I worked directly with Dr Kelly and Trish and had an amazing experience.

Stop the "he said, she said" and go directly to Dr Kelly if you want the truth.

  12. I used Dr Kelly and had a great experience - read my blog and you can see my experience. I would send any friend or family to him without hesitation. I would work directly with Trish his coordinator rather than a US coordinator.

Regardless.....do your research, do not let cost be your only determining factor. The difference between the 2 Doctors you have listed is vast - from cost to facilities. There are also many in between these. I can only speak from my personal experience, I too looked at every doctor that has been mentioned. Once I chose Dr Kelly I never lost a minutes sleep over my decision. See if you can talk personally on the phone with the Drs you narrow it down to - interview them! This is your life that you are placing in their hands - proceed with caution, knowledge and strength. Once you make your decision you will be confident that it is the right one for you!

Best wishes on your journey! We are all here for support.

  13. Grrrrrrrr, dang, censored.gif

I don't think I am going to make it!!! I just am finally breaking an almost 3 week stall (cheer2.gif) but, dont think I can possibly drop these 4+ pounds by Sunday :(. I love this challenge tho and will certainly sign up for the 4th of July one! coolgleamA.gif AND I will keep working hard to get to my Easter goal - I will take every ounce I can get!

On a better note...every size 14 has been removed from my closet and now it is filled with 12's and 10's! Today I am in a fashion show for work - Spring and Summer wear ( business casual appropriate). Both of my outfits are from the Limited - size 12 and 10's! I will try to get some pictures so I can post my modeling debut! Look out Americas Next Top Middle Aged Model Search - here I come!
