    Here it is Halloween 2010. In 66 more days I will be having my WLS surgery! Hard to believe but getting more real each day. Next year at this time I hope to have lost 60 pounds by this date. That would put me at 177 - my final goal for now is 160, but who knows. This is a journey and I don't want to get to far ahead of myself. One week at at time or one month at a time is a good way to go. I have read all about post op diet, stalls, living, gas, acid.. and I think that mentally I am ready. I am currently wearing a size 16 jeans and all tops are 1x or XL. I would love to be in a 12 or better yet a 10 at this time next year. I cannot remember the last time I bought a medium top - that would be SO exciting. My hubby is super supportive now pre-surgery and hopefully that will continue post op. I have found several websites with lots of post op recipes and food tips that I have bookmarked and will turn back to when the time is appropriate. I am excited, nervous and anxious! I am worth this trip, cost, $$, time, effort and pain. I can do this ...I will do this.

    Congrats everyone on your surgery dates.... He Octobers, Novembers and Decembers save a little room for us January sleevers! (and I mean a little room - we don't plan on taking up much space any more after our surgeries!) Kim

    Congrats on your success! I appreciate the update as I am pre-surgery and trying to gain as much knowledge from those who have gone before me (like you!) I am insulin resistant as well and am prepared to be a slow loser also. But the way look at it - it took me 47 years to get here and it won't come off in 6 months. Be patient and enjoy your journey! You have come a long ways! I bet you are in those size 14's before Thanksgiving. You have lots to be thankful for this year! Again congrats on your amazing success and keep up the great work! Kim

I am preparing for my recovery time stocking up on some shake samples (I don't want to buy the big containers of Protein only to find I don't like some things).     I am with you ringing in the New Year and new lifestyle! I will be sleeved on Jan 6th - just a little ahead of you. I had to wait for the new year for tax purposes and to use my Flexible Spending Account from work. Oh well.. it took me years to gain this weight I guess its going to hang around just a little longer than I wanted. Those pounds are going to be shed in 2011! Stay focused and healthy and prepare your body for the change now. Start taking vitamins, biotin (hair) and perhaps journal your thoughts and goals for next year! Best wishes and blessings! Kim

    MN Mary - I am in Minnesota too... just up 35W in Farmington. I am being sleeved on Jan 6th in Mexico...How is your recovery going? I think youa re about 2 weeks out. I hope all is going well for you! Please let me know if there is anything I really need to know about the sleeve.
