Thanks everyone for getting back to me I got a lot of great information.

I have a question does everyone that has the lap band work out? I have a friend that got the lap band done a few years ago and she never worked out but lost a lot of weight.

I new here just had my surgery 9/22/10. I need someone to talk to and I hope you don't mind it being you :smile2:I am so emotional I knew what I was getting myself into but now that I have done it I found myself thinking what did I do:sad: I'm also having this burping thing going on where I feel like I need to burp but it doesn't happen. It's uncomfortable I hate when it happens :smile: I've read so much on this website at times it helps me to get over this bump I've been feeling. I know that I did the right thing because I want to be health and happy I'm just all messed up right now. I hope this gets better for me.

hi, i had my surgery on September 3rd. i did have the same prob;em with that burping feeling. it does go away. the food shopping is definitely overwhelming deciding what to and what not to bring in the house is very different.

Congratulations!!! Oh great I can't wait for that burping feeling to go away. Its so uncomfortable for me :smile:

That is exactally what I had to do to get rid of it. Then the hiccups started....boy what fun.

Hi, I just had my band placed on 09/17/10. It has been tough some days, especally in the beginning. It gets better. I am 1 week ahead of you and feeling like a million bucks now. I do still have some pain at my port site, but that is because my Dr. sutured the port to muscle, another Dr. told me it hurts more this way, but at about the 6 week mark I should not feel it anymore. I hope so, it goes from burning to very sensitive to numb. It's weird but it is something I can live with. I look forward to the new me! I have a wonderful support team here at home and here on line.

Just some questions....I don't understand all of the acronyms used here on these posts. what the heck is PB? I'm assuming it's not peanutbutter....LOL. Anyone have a list of the meanings for the acronyms?

Congratulations!!! By the way I also don't understand the acronyms LOL!!! I've also got a great support team at home as well. That's great I can't wait to get to that point where I'm feeling better. Especially having this burping issue I have to go away. Did you have the same problem? I think maybe I should start walking more.

I'm just curious I got my band yesterday no nausea or anything just gas lol and I just eat cuz I need to get something down but not at all hungry wondering how long that will last :crying:

I just got my lap band 9/22/10. 3 days in and I'm not sure if I'm HUNGRY or have gas. I'm also having this issue where I feel like I want to burp but nothing happens. It feels uncomfortable and I can't stand when it happpen :biggrin: will this feeling go away? If so I hope its soon

I had my LAP-BAND® surgery on Tuesday the 21st of September and I dont know what has come over me but, I was talking to my husband about how i am feeling depressed and I couldnt stop crying. Its only been a few days since my surgery but, I just keep thinking about how I wont be able to eat a whole bunch at a time and its crazy to cry about that. Maybe I am emotional because I am sick of Protein drinks and sugar free popsicles who knows. Since my last appt with my surgeon on Sept 9th I have lost 11 pounds and 4 pounds since Tuesday so thats something to be happy about. Am I alone in being emotional after surgery?

No your not alone in feeling emotional after surgery I felt the same way too. I just had my lap-band surgery 9/22/10. Being home that night I remember crying I thought to myself what did I do? Its hard but we can do we just stay positive :biggrin:

I think we all go through these stages. The LAP-BAND® is awesome it has completely changed my life. Someone said to me the other day I can't believe you were ever fat. I just have to laugh. There are many changes coming your way just remember this is a marathon not a sprint. Stick to the instructions you are given by your MD and then make the band work for you.. Good luck and welcome to our world.

I'm new to this site I just got my lap-band 9/22/10. Everything went well with my surgery. However once I got home I thought to myself what have I done . I was so overwhelmed with everything I cried I knew what I was getting myself in to but now that the time has come and I've been banded it just hit me hard:crying:. It's been 3 days and I'm doing a lot better:smile2: the only thing is I don't know if my stomach is growling because I'm hungry or is it because of the gas:huh2:. I'm also have this feeling like I want to burp but it doesn't happen. However once this burping feeling has passed I'm ok. Does anyone else have this problem and if so does it go away? Also is anyone else also overwhelmed when you go food shopping? I'm on full liquids but I find myself walking around and around the food store like a crazy woman I can't wait to hear back from you guys since coming home from the hospital I have been on this site reading the post and they have been very helpful to me :smile2:
