    too little fill?

For my first fill, my doctor gave me 6 cc's. Then I found out that for each fill, he takes everything out and starts all over again. My second fill was 6.2 and my third fill (a week ago) was 6.8. I have a 10cc band. Does anyone else's doctor do this?

Congratulations! I love hearing happy updates. It keeps me encouraged!

    1cc at a time?

My first fill was 6 cc's. When I went in for my second fill yesterday, I was surprised that he removed all of the liquid first before filling me to 6.2 cc's. I asked him why he did this and he said it was a more accurate way to determine how much liquid I had in my band.
  7. My first fill was 6 cc's. (I have a 10 cc band.) I was surprised by this large amount, too. Please take it slow and easy. I never threw up before my fill, but find myself doing it every couple of days. And it's true, I felt more restriction a couple of weeks later.

    Best thing for scars???

I've been using Mederma gel. It has worked great!
  9. I have a 10cc band with no fill at surgery. My first fill was 6 cc's. That seemed like a lot for a first fill, but after a week, I have great restriction. I guess each doctor is different. I'm glad my doctor didn't take baby steps with me.

    Social drinking and lap band

Thank you everyone for your responses! I went out with friends for my birthday this evening. I had one margarita that I made last the whole evening.
  11. What is the rule about drinking alcohol? I think I read somewhere to wait about 6 months after surgery. Is that correct? In the past I averaged one drink every month during social gatherings. Has your doctor recommended anything to you about this?
  12. I didn't have that stuck feeling until my first fill. It is always caused by me eating too fast or not chewing enough.

    Not drinking while eating

I found out the hard way this evening. I was eating and I felt the food getting stuck. I thought it would be a good idea to sip something to get it to go down. Instead, everything that I sipped came back up! Lesson Learned!!
  14. I went for my first fill this morning. I was banded about 8 weeks ago. I was more nervous for my fill than I was for my surgery. My doctor put 6 cc's in my 10 cc band. I was surprised that he put in so much considering it was my first fill. I was instructed to go back to a liquid diet for one day, but my stomach was growling so much that I ate a banana. It went down just fine. I'm surprised that your doctor has already scheduled a fill. My doctor wouldn't even discuss it with me until he asked me specific questions like the ones above.
  15. I was banded on 08/31/2010. For the past week I've noticed that my stomach growls between meals and I've also had painful stomach aches. As soon as I eat a couple of crackers, the pain goes away. Is this just something that I need to get used to? I was instructed not to snack between meals, but it's the only thing that takes the pain away.
