  1. I actually received the lap band in 2010. I lost and keep off 100 lbs for almost 4 years. I started getting very sick with the band and had to make a decision to remove it completely or remove and do another selective surgery. I decided to get sleeved. I went 9 months with no band and gained back almost 50lbs. I had my sleeve surgery in 2014, I lost the 50lbs that I had gained back but that was it. The past year has been a very stressful year, losing a family member and watching my 19 year old daughter make one awful mistake after another. I was placed on an anti-depressant and just started packing on the pounds. From October 2015 to October 2016 I have gained 30lbs. I am struggling and frustrated. I feel like everything I try just fails. I can use any advice/feedback that anybody has......Thank you!!!
  2. Hello my fellow sleevers.......I am looking for someone out there that has converted from the Lap Band to the Sleeve, and is struggling losing weight. I was originally banded in 2010 and lost 100lbs before I started having complications. I made the decision to remove the band and have the sleeve done in December 2014. My surgery was a success and almost pain free; but since then I have not been as successful as I was with the lap band. I am wondering if anyone out there is having the same struggles??? Since surgery (6 months) I have only lost 45lbs and I constantly plateau. If anyone has any advice or feedback please chime in!!!!
  3. NewMrsSmith....we are two of a kind!! we do everything the same from the exercise to boxing the food at the restaurant immediately. I have been struggling with Water intake so that is my main focus is drinking at least 64 oz a day!!! I am staying positive and only weighing in once a week. I will do this, thank you for your support.
  4. What you are saying makes sense....with the band I couldn't eat anything without vomiting. I was either too tight or no restriction, I never really had the "sweet spot". My health started deteriorating and that's when I decided to do the revision. I love the sleeve but it really does force you to be accountable. With the sleeve I can eat almost anything but my portions are small and I do get full fast. I think my body is almost in shock because I went 4.5 years with no food lol. I feel healthier with the sleeve. Honestly I need to stay off the scale and only weight myself once a month.
  5. Hi there. I'm doing this surgery soon. Was your starting weigh lower this time? Yes It was my weight was lower at the point of converting from the band to the sleeve.
  6. Thank you New Mrs Smith. Do you mind me asking how much you lost with lap band?? Any tips you can give me on what your doing now to loss the weight!!!

  19. Yes at first they said it was a gallstone stuck in my bile duct so they went down my throat and there were no gallstones after 2 more days in the hospital they decided to remove my gallbladder I thought everything was better until I tried to eat again and the pain came back full force. They said when they removed the gall bladder a stone must have dislodged and became stuck in my bile duct, they had to go down my throat again to remove it!!! After a 6 day stay in the hospital =( they pain finally went away!!! Everytime I went to the ER they wanted to blame the pain on my lapband not once did they every check my gallbladder the ER's around my neck of the woods are not lapband friendly!!

    Stomach Ache

Anytime I hear stomache aches or any type of pain in the stomache I advise everyone to have there gall bladder checked out. My pain started in the upper part of my stomache after I ate almost anything and the pain would go away after about an hour or two that would happen like 2x a month. Eventually the pain got so bad I refused to eat anything.....bottom line they did an ultrasound and it was my gallbladder.
  21. I started out with discomfort like that around my 10 month post-op it would come and go, until the pain got so unbearable I would have rather gave birth naturally to ten babies!!! It was my gall bladder which is very common when losing weight. If the pain doesnt go away or it gets worse ask for an ultrasound of your gall bladder you dont want to go through the torture I went through for months!!
  22. Ok so I am hoping I am not the only one....Everytime I eat lately I get this weird pain in my left shoulder/neck area and it generates all the way down my arm into my hand. I find myself constantly rubbing my shoulder and hand hoping the pain/irritation goes away! Is anyone else experiencing this???

    Weird Pain......

Ok so I spoke to the Doctors Office she said that it sounds like the nerve is rubbing on the diaphram and it may just be that I need to be unfilled a little bit. Also, we've noticed that when I am menstrating I experience tightening of the band so both of them together can be the reason for the weird pain that I am experiencing. She wants me to do liquidy foods for the next couple days to see if that helps calm everything down.....please let me know what your Dr says

    Weird Pain......

I got banded in November of 2010 so it's been awhile and I would occassionally get the pain when I ate something I shouldnt have ate or over ate but it would go away within an hour or so. However the past 3 or 4 days its just kinda there, after reading some of the your responses Im getting kinda worried. I will be calling my Doctors office today. Thank you for all your responses they are greatly appreciated.
