  1. I am having surgery on Valentine's Day. I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck this month. If you are anything like me, you are in final count-down mode. I dont have to start pre-op diet until the 9th, but I was thinking of trying the 2 shakes and 1 meal just to wean down. Have to start somewhere...

    12 more days:)

  2. I'll be brutely honest, If you can't lost 11 lbs in one year, I wonder if the band is going to do you any good.

There is a lot of sacrifice and deprivation involved. Will power is probably the most valuable asset in a

successful bander. The band, by itself, won't cause you to lose one pound. This is like a diet with a little

help. I'm not trying to be cruel, just honest. Talk to a respectable weight loss doctor and get some

guidelines to see if there isn't something you can do. At this time the band probably isn't it.

Finally, someone with an opinion! thanks. I started this with a friend and she got her band back in august. she has since lost 40lbs and asks me every week how its coming for me. i dont know. if tomorrow goes well, i will be banded. if not, not sure

  3. how do u use that site?

    www.therecoverygroup.org

    or search the recovery group

click go to online meeting. they have rules for sharing just as you would find in a face to face meeting.

I also became a member of the wls group and they have an online meeting twice a week

  4. if you are not ready, don't do it. If you think you will like being restricted in your eating, go for it. If you are only afraid of post op pain, they have meds for that. it is really your decision, no one can make it for you, but i wish you the best of luck no matter what you choose.

  5. I am still in the works with nutrition. I have to lose 11 lbs before I can get to the next step. this has been very hard for me, in fact, so hard that I have actually gained 8 lbs since starting with the nutritionist.

So, in an attempt to get this thing going, yesterday I started with 2 Atkins shakes and a lean/green dinner.< /p>

Today I am having stomach cramping and rushing to the lue. Is this to be expected on a shake diet? Should I go about this thing from another angle?
