Thanks for the advise .....I never thought of head hunger, but now that you have mentioned it I would bet it is most likely the reason because I don't have a growling stomach and sometimes I do want to reach for a snack that I shouldn't be eating like chips. I do go for Water first or my Decaf coffee and if not satisfied I get cottage cheese or string cheese.

Welcome...I had surgery 1-13 and I am doing good. I have been eating soft soids and so far everything I have eaten has gone well. I am losing weight slower than I thought I would... but then again I know it won't come off in just a matter of weeks . So much snow over the past few weeks that I don't go out walking and I hate the cold weather. But for excercise I have a Tony Little Gazelle edge that I do as often as I can, which is about three times a week for half an hour .

I had my bypass surgery on 02/19/14. During my two week pre-op diet I dropped 15 lbs. My surgery weight was 303. Two night hospital stay was OK. the only real issue was sleeping....I sleep on my stomach. I have had very little pain or discomfort. Other than some very minor gas pain Sunday, not much to speak of. scale said 295 this morning! Pleasantly surprised how this has gone so far....especially since this is just the beginning of a new lifestyle. On my way to a new me!

I just turned on a program I have never heard of and they just did gastric bypass on a 600 lb woman. She is up and walking and feeling good. Her husband is an ass though, called her up shortly after surgery and told her that he was having tacos. Then he picks her up from the hospital and on the way home stops at a drive through and since he's driving makes her hold his burger right after she tells him the smell is nauseating. Can we say DIVORCE shortly? We all need to stay far away from relationships like that.

Hi everyone! I had the sleeve 1/10 and want to join this thread. My surgery went well except I had 2 sutures that were pulling very tight so I could hardly move for the first 4 wks. The sutures finally popped and since then I feel much better! I'm 6 wks and 3 days today. I got clearance to go back to the gym so I signed up today and took a class. I hit my first stall the past 2 wks. I keep fluctuating between 2-4 pounds. Very frustrating! I'm excited for this journey and glad I found this app! I can't wait to buy smaller clothes. As if today I'm down 20 pounds. How is everyone doing that had surgery early Jan?

NEWDEANNA...I cannot wait for spring to get here too. I am so over this winter with all these arctic temperatures. I hate the cold weather. And warmer temps will make it easier to get out and do some good walking. I did go out yesterday and walk the mall. That was ok

I'm 21 days out of surgery and I'm pretty happy with my progress. I'm walking over a mile a day on the treadmill, don't have any problems with staying hydrated or getting all Protein. I was back to work 10 days after surgery.
My wife and daughter had the gastric sleeve and both said that I'm progressing a lot faster than either of them, so that makes me happy. Not trying to brag or anything but I'm so happy with the progress that I wanted to tell some folks.

I just placed an order for a nectar sample pack. I am hoping it lives up to its hype. I have been using the Walmart version of crystal light but it would be awesome to have the great Water flavoring with the added bonus of Protein. It would be easier to drink my Protein in my Water when I am on the go then have to worry about packing a snack when running errands or when I got back to school next term. But good news is that I fit into 26/28 sweats. I haven't been able to do that in years. When I started my journey to a better me I was fitting into 38/40. Woot! And I can cross my legs (somewhat).

Hi all just wanna say my band revision to rny went good dr also repaired a hernia which he said he finds common after the banding. I am up walking around a bit here and there and have a lot of gas yet as my body isn't so cooperative in letting it out. I may even get to go home later today just have a few things to wait on yet. I start Clear Liquids this am and want to see if I am capable of holding them down before making that decision

So many... I use a normal towel after I shower instead of a beach towel. I use a normal public bathroom stall instead of the handicap stall. I cross my legs all the time. I don't sweat as much. I am never out of breath. I can run up the stairs at my house instead of hanging on the banister all the way up. I'm in single digit clothing. I don't dread being in a picture... In fact I'm front and center now. So many more.... I smile all the time now!!!

Me too. My dietitian tells us repeatedly at our support groups and office visits that it's most important to get the Protein in. Body fortress is low sugar and low fat. And low price!

But I stopped pain meds Wednesday morning because of being sick, doing ok a lil pain it really hurt when they removed the drains. Had my first Protein Shake today only got about 3oz down, drinking lots of Water & crystal light. Going to try & go to the mall with the wife tomorrow.

Vicki1205, congrats on 23lbs! that is fantastic. I was slightly disappointed with my 18lbs, but i was told the same thing about anesthesia and the healing process...surgeon said "be proud. When was the last time you lost 18lbs in less than 3wks" and reminded me that this is only the beginning. Turned my attitude around into being more determined than ever...my energy level is at a five year (or more) high.
    Keep on keeping on, lady!

I had my surgery in PA also. Small world! I am 10 days post op and finally feeling myself! I'm so excited! My only problem is my hunger. The Protein Shakes just don't cut it anymore. I'm trying cream Soups, but they are a little rich. I'm trying cream of potato tomorrow. Today I had Tomato it was yucky. The yogurt is okay sometimes, but I want something that is not sweet. Does anyone have any suggestions? It's not head hunger, I get lightheaded and dizzy. After my 2 oz I'm good as new! Doing real well with the Water, working on the Protein.

I have not walked since I was discharged last Friday. I hate the deep freeze -40ish with windchill . And very slippery roads and sidewalks! I am very afraid of slipping and ripping my staples out. I have been sitting feeling guilty for not walking then 2 days ago my husband asks what I want for my Birthday and today there is a treadmill in my van waiting for my husband and another strong man to bring it in!! So excited to set it up and move!! I love that I can just go out and buy my own gift lol!

Well, against all good advice, I was weighing every day. I was losing a pound a day for a while, so it was pretty awesome. When I hit 297 (started at 344) I hit my first stall. It was at 3 weeks. I was ok at first but then on the 4th day of stall I gained 2 pounds to 299!! I had a BM and went to 298.5. I knew then I needed to stop weighing every day. So I went to every three days -- only in the morning only after a BM. (Sorry tmi) -- this morning-- voila. Down 5!

This morning my three week stall was broken. At one point, I'd actually gained a pound. How's that even possible?! Lol. This morning I'm down 5 pounds!! Don't get discouraged.
