I have been considering this procedure for over a year.  Finally went to one of the seminars given by Dr. Eibes and took my sister with me.  My sister is having the surgery also!  The seminar was so informative, it sold me on the procedure.  Called my insurance company and discovered that my employer added a rider on to our insurance to cover this type of procedure.  So, my out of pocket would be about $260.00 tota.  Can't beat that!  Made my initial appoitment with the surgeon (my sister came too) and decided to go ahead.  Jumped through all of the "hoops" and my information was submitted to my insurance.  It took only 6 days to approve my surgery.  I was shocked!  Met with Dr. Eibes and set my surgery date for 9-7-10.  Surgery went great.  Ended up staying the night because the technician who did the barium test after surgery said the barium was moving kind of slow, believed to be because of swelling.  When the surgeon's assistant came in the next day, he said I could have gone home the same day but better safe than sorry.  So, I went home and have not had any problems.  No nausea, no vomiting and actually no pain.  Just sore.  Started my pureed diet today.  Go on 9-15-10 to get my staples out.  Weighed this morning, one week after sugery, and have losy 16 pounds!!!!!!!!  Unbelievable!!!!!!!  Look for nothing but good in the future.
