  4. I had my lapband surgery on Tuesday the 21st of September and I dont know what has come over me but, I was talking to my husband about how i am feeling depressed and I couldnt stop crying. Its only been a few days since my surgery but, I just keep thinking about how I wont be able to eat a whole bunch at a time and its crazy to cry about that. Maybe I am emotional because I am sick of Protein drinks and sugar free popsicles who knows. Since my last appt with my surgeon on Sept 9th I have lost 11 pounds and 4 pounds since Tuesday so thats something to be happy about. Am I alone in being emotional after surgery? Melissa
  5. I have to say I am surprised at how well I have been doing since surgery on the 21st. The only thing that really hurts is the incision area when I get up from a chair or bed. I have had horrible gas but, no shoulder pain so far. I have had a protein shake, beef broth and a sf popsicle today. I go in to have my staples taken out in a week and I cant wait cuz Im so worried about moving the wrong way and them coming out. I walk like a old lady around the house but, other then that I am geat. :smile2: Melissa
  6. I had my surgery at 7 this morning which means we had to be at the hospital at 5 and had to leave at 4 in the morning. I couldnt sleep last night at all so I cleaned different things all night. Anyways, my doctor said it couldnt have gone better during surgery and to tell you the truth I didnt hurt at all like I had expected. Giving birth hurt alot more at least for me. I took the xray afterwards and I could kinda see my band. It was neat. I left the hospital around 11:30 and was home by 12:30 in the afternoon. Since I was so tired I came home and have been napping and my husband wakes me up every 4 hours to give me crushed up percasit which is gross but, hey it helps. Overall I have done great and if this is as much pain I will be in I am really happy. Thanks, Melissa Huff
  7. I love diet coke too and I gave it up cold turkey a couple of weeks ago. My surgery is this tuesday and I was drinking way too many so I had to just give it up. I had headaches for a few days, but they went away so its not that bad.
  8. Thanks for the support!! I know this is the right thing for me I am just thinking of how my life will change and it is kinda like getting ready to loose a crutch. I have only told a few people and one of those people said what if you want to just go pig out after surgery you wont be able to. I said how do you think I got this way I dont want to have that sick feeling of eating way too much anymore. I just have to remember why I am doing this and stop letting myself think about what I am gonna miss out on. Melissa
  9. I have read all the posts where people are days from getting lapband and all of the sudden start to freak out. Well I am becoming one of those people. I am scheduled to have my surgery on Tuesday the 21st and all of the sudden I am a nervous wreck and I am thinking this is such a life altering thing am I really ready for this? Is this just normal presurgery jitters I mean do most people start to doubt themselves this close to surgery? I hate that I am doing this to myself it makes me a nervous wreck!! Melissa
  10. My surgery is Tuesday the 21st and I just have to do a 1200 calorie diet for 5 days and then full liquids for 2 days. I started this last Friday (a few days early) and as of this morning I have lost 6 pounds! Woo Hoo!! I told my husband its crazy but, I have never done so well and why now when I am about to have surgery? I cannot wait to get this going!! Melissa

    1st day with the band

I will have my surgery this Tuesday the 21st and I am so excited and nervous. I also have Triwest and will pay $25 and have my fills covered and its wonderful!! I think I am most nervous about the pain afterwards and the fills kinda make me nervous but, I am so ready to get this going and feeling better about myself. Melissa
  12. When I was approved with insurance and went in to schedule my surgery I had to pay $200. I was told it was for the cost of meeting with the dietician and exercise person. I have never had to pay for anything else so far. melissa
  13. Thanks for all the input. Honestly if I can get through the surgery then the fill should be the least of my worries. I have just read some posts where people are like if I didnt get numbed I would die but, like several of you have pointed out it is different for everyone. Melissa
  14. At my last appt. before surgery i asked my surgeon if he numbs the area before a fill and he said no that usually causes more pain so he doesnt do that. I am having my surgery on September 21st and I am already worried about the pain of a fill with not being numb. Just curious what everyone elses dr. does and if I am worrying for nothing. Melissa

    Can I do this?

Thanks for all the comments I have done great today and I just need to not be so hard on myself. I am so excited and nervous about my upcoming surgery and i am just wandering if I am the only one who is consumed with all the information I can get on the lapband? I am addicted to all the different sites that deal with having this surgery which can have be a bit overwhelming so I need to probably loosen up I just want to be prepared. I can hardly wait to get this weight off!! Melissa
