  1. I live in League City, I would be interested!
  2. I have the same thing. The nurse said it was scar tissue?? When I went in for my fill this week she actually pushed around and stuck the needle in thinking it was my port but after moving it all around realized it wasn't, that it is actually a little to the right of my big incision after looking with the xray thing and marking the port spot so she could poke me again! Luckily she made a note in my file where the port actually is! Maybe yours is the same??
  3. I was banded at True Results in Houston. I have only had one fill, I am scheduled for my 2nd one next week. I have not yet seen any charges but I was self pay so not sure if they make any claims..that seems really high but I guess it is the xray like you said!

    New to forums

Hi Theresa, I am in your neck of the woods, League City - far south but close none the less..I was banded on Sept. 30th. Where did you have your surgery? I was doing great and then stalled for a week or so after I started eating regular food but getting better now. Thankfully my first fill is this Thursday, I am ready!!
  5. I noticed today when I got out of the shower, I could wrap a regular sizes towel around me and not be hanging out!! lol

Hi everyone. Just wanted to check in. I was banded 9/30/10. Today I offically passed the 20 pound loss mark (6 pounds pre op and 15 post)..actually it is 21. I feel so great. I am so excited. I guess I had cleaned out my closet too well, I am already running out of clothes. My skinny stuff already fits..life is great. Laura:thumbup:

    Clothing Sizes

It is so strange how sizes work. I too was jeans shopping yesterday and so happy I could fit into a misses 14 again. A 12 fit but was tight - I don't like too tight. But I weigh 179, weird how figures work! I am super short - 5'1" so I am compact!! I know what a great feeling it was!! Congrats..
  9. Hi everyone. I am in Houston area also, League City. I was banded 9/30/10 by Dr. Christopher Reilly at True Results. I am doing well so far - just the persistent shoulder pain! I am down almost 9 pounds since day of surgery and 15.2 over all including pre op. I am so happy!!

    Resturant ideas needed...

I need that info too! We go as often as we can and will hopefully be making a trip in the next month or two. My husband is already asking, where are we going to eat and will they charge you full price at the buffet?? We like to eat at the Wynn Buffett, that is our favorite. We usually eat a meal or two at Lux Cafe in the Venetian. I am sure we will end up just splitting meals whereever we go. Have fun, I LOVE Vegas!!
  11. I was banded on 9/30 too. I am doing ok but like you feel like I am not getting enough liquids. Although I am thrilled to be down 8 pounds since surgery - I feel it is a little too fast and I am dehydrated. The shoulder pain is what is killing me. It is still so awful! I am trying to get down an entire protein shake right now. I don't mind them, I kinda like them I just haven't been able to finish one yet. I am curious to see what your dr. says.
  12. Awesome, will have to check it out!

    Negative comments about getting LapBand

I am feeling some of this as well. I was banded Thursday 9/30. I pretty much told anyone I needed to that I was having the surgery and mostly people were supportive but some acted like I am crazy. I have a lower BMI, 35 but I am also only 5' tall. I hate hearing oh your not big enough for that or you could do it by yourself. Then I feel obligated to tell people my starting weight was 197 before pre op diet. I also have sleep apnea and high blood pressure. I HATE feeling like I have to justify it to others. My mother in law actually told my husband "that doesn't work for most people, I hope it works out for her" I just don't get why people can't support you and see the reasons I am doing this. I have four kids ages 17,9,6, and 3 I want to be around for them!, they deserve a happy healthy role model.

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

Hi everyone, I am 2 days post op today, still pretty miserable. Just real sore and shoulder pain is awful. I feel like I am doing pretty well otherwise. No appetite at all but I have been drinking fluids and broth. I ate some sugar free jello too. It is really great reading about everyone's experiences!
  15. Hi, banded yesterday I am a stay at home mom with four kids from League City,TX, a suburb south of Houston.

    Anyone from Houston

Actually, I think Physicians Surgery Center is the same place that my surgery is at, on Main?

    Anyone from Houston

Hi, I am from the Houston area too. I live in League City. My surgery is 9/30 with Dr. Reilly from True results - it is also near Reliant Stadium.
  20. Well, I had my sleep study. I was totally shocked to find out I DO have sleep apnea. I was truly shocked! If I had not I would have had surgery today but since I have have to have cpap I have to go back to the sleep study place for titration?? So surgery should be next Thursday. I'm ok with it, I just wanted to get going so bad! But, I realized by losing 11 pounds so far on the pre op diet, I have begun my journey!
  21. I am so upset to find out late today that my surgery might have to be pushed back! I had an EGD yesterday. Good news since I am self pay, I do have a hiatal hernia and cost goes from $12900 to $5500, since insurance will now cover the hernia repair. Bad news since I was snoring after my procedure, my doctor now wants a sleep study. My surgery is supposed go be next Thursday. They are supposed to be ordering a stat split-study, whatever that is. The sleep study place is supposed to call me Monday, I just don't see how it could be done in time for me to have surgery Thursday. I was so mentally prepared and now I am so upset and disappointed!! I just want to cry...not to mention the fact that I have been working so hard on my pre-op diet and have gone from 197 to 188.8 in one week! (I am only 5'1") thanks for letting me vent!
  22. Thanks Susan, I really appreciate it! I am so focused on the goal, I have wanted this for a long time. I am glad I finally decided it was time, I am ready - no regrets! I just have to keep reminding myself that it WILL happen, this week or next - I will get there!! Thanks so much!
  23. Thanks so much to everyone who responded. I so appreciate the support. Those of you who have sleep apnea, did you have symptoms?? I think that is why I am so frustrated about the sleep study pushing back my surgery is I feel I don't have any sleeping issues. I sleep great, no daytime sleepy issues, I don't nap, nor do I feel like I need to. I understand it is in my best interest, I know everyone understands my anxiousness! Also, another question, with the preop diet I have almost dropped below a 35 BMI, will they use my starting weight or since I am self pay does it even matter at this point? I have lost almost 10 pounds on the pre op diet thus far. Thanks again so much for the support, it really helps and helps to read everyone else's posts about surgery and their journey!
  24. Thanks Brian, best of luck today! Crazy as it sounds I am more nervous about the IV than the EGD or lap band surgery itself! I hate needles! After four kids and three c sections you think that would be the least of my worries! Also, has anybody felt they were too lax about recovery time? I guess I figure after 3 c sections I can handle anything. I am worried I am not being realistic about my recovery time, telling everyone "oh, I will be fine."
