    August rush 2010!!!

Is anyone having trouble with thirst? I am thirsty all the time, even thought I try to drink a lot of water.
  5. Mary, I was about 11 pounds down on surgery day, but I knew it was mostly Water. then when i went back for my one week check, I was the same 11 pounds down. I figured I probably regained a little water weight and went back down. I'm hoping by 4 weeks, and my first fill, that I'm down more. Try not to worry too much!

    August rush 2010!!!

I'm 14 days out and finally had a scrambled egg. I've also had oatmeal and yogurt. But I need to find some protein shots. Very tired of the protein drinks. Where did you get yours?

    August rush 2010!!!

Today is day 14 for me, and my stomach is feeling better and better. My little wounds are healing and I am sleeping better. I was surprised that I was having so much trouble sleeping -- I wasn't in terrible pain. I wondered if it was some sort of result from anesthesia (sp!).
  8. How are you doing? I have a bit of trouble negotiating this forum. I need to figure out how to find the threads I want more easily.
  9. I've been so busy that I forgot to check the forums. I feel great. Went back for one-week check and had "lost" about 10 pounds of water weight. I think I've lost a bit more now, but I have been eating a few things I probably shouldn't. And I have to force myself to drink protein shakes. Of course I have no saline in band. So a bit worried that I'll overeat. But so far, so good!

    It's beginning to show

Cancer (and AIDS) are the illnesses that people fear most and that are associated with extreme weight loss. I just got my band, and I'm not sure what I'm going to tell acquaintances. I don't want to lie about the surgery. But I'm not sure whether they need to know.
  11. My surgery went perfectly at Des Peres Hospital, my doc says. I got out Thursday night. Slept a lot Friday but not much on Saturday. In fact, I'm kind of restless and bored. I feel like I've done 50 sit-ups. Just kind of sore. I am also surprised by the amount of gas I have. I don't feel hungry. But it doesn't seem difficult to eat several ounces of Jell-o or a full cup of broth. That seems sort of surprising. I confess I'd like something like pudding or soup. So I need a way to distract myself, I guess. Any ideas?

    August rush 2010!!!

I have told a few close friends, my teenage kids, my ex-husband. I asked them not to tell, but I assume that others will find out eventually. I guess I just don't want to talk about it with everyone until I feel like I'm succeeding.
  13. Congratulations Sharon! I'm having my surgery this afternoon. I know you're probably not on the web today, but let me know how you're doing.

    St. Louis anyone?

I'm having surgery with Dr. Minkin. I've heard good things, but I'm still nervous!
  15. I'm having my surgery this afternoon. I'm not sure how I'll make it to 2:30 without Water. But I'm getting very excited. Nervous, too, of course. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
