    January Bandsters???

Lisa, I know you probably have posted this earlier but I was wondering which scale you use? I have a weight watcher scale that if you weigh three times in 3 minutes will tell you 3 different weights! I need one that I can trust. I know I shouldn't be so scale driven, but can't help myself!?#*! Thanks, susie

    January Bandsters???

Hi everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. Audree you look great. Thanks for the pic and update. Tonya I'm starting to really get into the exercising thing.. I know you are doing a challenge, is there a link or could you tell me a little more about it? I have been eating too much, or at least the wrong things, I have to get back on track. I actually got up at 5:15 this morning to go the the club to walk. I've been really depressed and haven't been taking care of myself. The scale has been stuck for this whole month since we lost my daughter. I don't think I need a fill just more discipline....:help: Thanks all, Sue

    January Bandsters???

Thank you to all my band family. Your kind words have meant so much to me. You have been her with me through thick and thin. It really means so much. I talked to the coroner today. She said that my daughter died of a heart arythmia. When I found her she looked as if she was just sleeping. She didn't look like she suffered at all. That is bringing us some comfort. Again my friends, thanks so much for your support.

    January Bandsters???

Well my bandster buddies I made it to onederland today, but it was bittersweet. My daughter, Pam, who was only 31 passed on Thursday. She was my biggest cheerleader. She herself was always slender and athletic. I found her and I felt that my world had ended. We think she probably had a heart attack as she had 2 small heart attacks in March. She leaves behind 3 children, her father and I, and her brother Jonathan. She will be missed... If you would like to see how wonderful she was her picture is on the funeral home website of Sujkowski.com.

    January Bandsters???

Hi everyone, I went to the my family dr. last week. I don't know if I told you all but I'm having problems with hair loss. They did a whole bunch of blood tests and I found out today that I am not doing well with B12. Starting tomorrow I need to take one shot per week for at least one month and then one per month after that. Is anyone else having this problem? I also have to take one biotin vitamin pill per day. What do all of you think? Thanks, Sue

    January Bandsters???

Hi Bandsters, Just a little update. I have had my 4th fill last week and I think I may have a little too much restriction. I can hardly get water down first thing in the morning. About lunch time I have 1 poached egg and I'm full till supper time. For supper I eat very little. And for my late snack I have a sf popsicle. I'm kinda worried I may not be eating enough. Yesterday I had about a half a small scoop of chicken salad and was sliming for about an hour even though I took small bites and chewed well. What do you all think. I am now at 3cc in a 4cc band. Thanks for your advice I need your thoughts. Susie

    January Bandsters???

Hi Amy, :welcomeB: to the January Bandsters! How are you enjoying your band experience? I had my third fill today. It's really kickin' my butt. I am not used to having any restriction. It feels like just after the surgery! I actually pb'd and slimed, that has never happened to me before. I was even taking small bites and chewing very well. Hopefully, it will calm down a little. I now have 2.5cc in my 4.00cc band. Hope everyone else is doing well!!

    January Bandsters???

Hi fellow bandsters, I had my second fill this week and I'm happy 'cause I'm finally feeling the restriction again. I haven't pb'd or slimed but definitely can't eat the quantity I was eating before this fill. Maybe we should all go back and read the bandster rules from the beginning of this forum. I know I've gotten kind of complacent about following all the rules perfectly. This link was posted by Sunshine sometime ago, good info to review... http://www.lapbandlifestyle.com/Pages/LapBandLifestyleRulesroad.shtml Keep working toward your goals susie-q

    January Bandsters???

Hi Everyone, I have a question, is anyone else concerned because they seem to be at a standstill in weightloss? I have been on lots of diets and always lost weight on a weekly basis. I am eating less than ever and my weightloss is totally at a standstill. I know we are healing but it kind of makes me wonder what is going on... My diet is usually 2 scramble eggs for breakfast, a sf pudding for snack, a cup of soup for lunch, a piece of chicken(pureed) with mashed potatoes for supper and a sf popsicle for evening snack. Do you thing I'm eating too much? I go for my first fill on Feb 27th. I totally want this to work but what else can I do? Thanks for your imput I do need advice and I guess reassurance. Sue

    January Bandsters???

Sherilyn, Have you been drinking your water? Have you been able to go to the bathroom okay? Are you constipated? Sorry to get so personal but I had the same problem with nausea about 9 days after surgery. I was admitted to the hospital to get hydrated because I had been vomiting. They found out through xrays that I was constipated and gave me a laxative. also had a lot of air/gas in my colon. Do you also feel chilled? Tell the dr. about your whole picture, not just the nausea.. Hope this helps, sorry to be so graphic, just thought you needed to know.
  24. Hi Lisa, They told me I could take pills no larger than a m&m. I don't think taking antidrepressants would be a problem with anesthesia. I thought I was doing enough liquids but I was vomiting for two days. I also was constipated (didn't know it, xrays told on me). Had a lot of air or gas or something in my colon. So I guess that is what started the problem. I felt great after iv fluids and a laxative. Sorry to be so graphic. lol When do you think your insurance will give you the go ahead? Really the surgery isn't that bad. Most people have no complications, I am always the weird one. Would I do it again, absolutely! Let's talk again soon, Sue
  25. Lisa I know how you feel. I was 100 lbs overweight as well. I'm 55 and I so wish I had the surgery at your age. My knees had to be replaced about 3 1/2 years ago because of osterarthitis. I woulld like the time back I spent hiding behind kids and potted plants in photos. I know all aspects of my life have suffered because of my weight. My husband and kids are all slender and I can't help to feel out of the loop. I have lost the 100 lbs before only to gain it back like you. I just think the band will give me the willpower I lack... My surgery was about one hour from home. There is no metal that I know of in the band. I'm allergic to lots of stuff so I questioned the doctor pretty thoroughly. He said no one has ever been allergic. Also the mortality rate is pretty much nonexistant. As for slippage and erosion these are very rare occurances as well. It's something like 1% of all bands done. They keep a close eye I you for quite awhile. I'm comfortable with the odds as heartaches, diabetes, hypertension are a lot riskier. If you have any other questions I'm always happy to help. I'm now down 23 lbs I'm happy with how things are going, I'll keep you informed! Thanks for listening. Sue
