  1. Happy 23rd Birthday pandaFD!

  2. 1 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 1st Anniversary pandaFD!

  3. So i was banded on jan 4th, i was feeling horrible and by jan 14th i went to the ER with pains in my chest. Found out that due to smoking, birth control and not moving a lot after surgery i had gotten pulmonary emboli (blood clots) in both lungs! im not on blood thinners and the clinic that moniters my blood levels told me that i shouldnt do more then walking for awhile until we know my lungs are clear, dont want anything moving around and getting stuck somewhere else like my heart..... my question is how long did u wait until u started excersizing and what did u do? should i walk then try some stretching stuff or jogging, crunches, etc i have an ab lounge, how long till i can use that? these are questions that my blood center cant answer n im snowed in so i cant even make it to my bariatric dr
  4. thanks so much guys, im doing ok since the whole thing happened. i finally slept in my own bed!!! first time since jan 3rd (the day before my surgery) it felt amazing! had to start all my crazy dr appointments n blood work today. it was kinda hectic today, but on the bright side, i started soft foods today and was able to have maccaroni!!!!!! thanks for all ur support guys and gals
  5. well turns out it was pulmonary emboli, i had it it both lungs! not just from surgery but they said between being a smoker, on birth control and then the surgery are all factors. i now have to be on heprin and cumadin for at least a year and watch every single thing that i do. thank you all who kinda scared me into going to the ER cuz i would have been sitting here going "oh its just gas it will pass"
  6. i think it may be gas cuz i have been reading aaaaaaaa lot more since i posted that (15 mins ago lol) and i noticed people talking about kinda hunching over and feeling some relief and i noticed that now im not on the couch and im slouched up typing on my computer i do feel a little relief. i can breathe at least. still pain in the shoulder ribs and neck but at least i can breathe. also a read a lot of entries about people taking gas-x....do u think that will help?
  7. im now currently 10 days after surgery. last night i finally was able to sleep in my own bed instead of the reclining couch but after about two hours i got the most horrific pain in my life, i was about to call 911 cuz i thought i was having a heart attack. my left shoulder, neck and rib area are in horrific pain. when i try to inhale it feel like my lungs are going into shock and they start freaking out. this pain is by far the worst i have felt and im reading things about other people having gas problem and it hurts the shoulder but no one is saying anything about not being able to inhale, im having a really hard time with this and im 21 years old and dont have a whole lot of knowlege about how the gas effects the body and my dr is basically non-communicational. i got my staples removed 2 days ago and i asked him a question and he ignored me, no bed side manner at all.....some one please help!
  8. Hey girl, keep your head up! I remember I was in a lot of pain the first couple of days as well, but it will get better soon, I promise! each day is better than the last...and it is TOTALLY worth it! Getting the band is the best decision I've ever made for myself!!! Good luck and keep me posted on your progress.

  9. got banded on jan 4th!

  14. hi all, i have my very first appointment in a week, and ill be 21 4 days after. I currently weigh about 270. I dont want this surgery for vanity reasons, i want it for my health. My back, hips and legs are always in pain, i cant lay down flat with out the feeling of my spine ripping out of my back  i have also been hospitalized for numerous breathing issues. i just want all this to end. Im going to school to get licensed in a profession that i need to be active and its difficult for someone my size (as most of you may know lol) im not nervous about the surgery, im nervous for recovery... my school is intense and i can not miss many days or i will never get back on track. im also nervous for my skin. My cousin got the surgery done when she was 16 and she has MASSIVE amount of loose skin, i cant afford to get anything tucked afterward and i dont want things to end that way...ANY SUGESTIONS??? ps. sorry if im ranting...like i said im nervous:unsure:
