Who is your Doctor for the lapband? I am using a Dr.Holover in long Island.

I have GHI and it is a 6 month waiting period. You have to get weighed for 6 monthsssss before approval. I have seen all of the needed to see doctors and have the nutritionist to see in October but I still have to wait. I started the pre op stuff in August.

Congratulations on losing 14 pounds!!!!! I am glad things are going well...... How is work going so soon after surgery? Did you tell anyone??

Mbwalker the surgery through your belly button is HARD!!!! I had my tubes tied and it was through my belly button an it was the worst pain on EARTH!!!! So I do understand and that my be the reason for all of the pain you are experiencing. Keep your eyes on the prize and know that there is no easy way to get anything in life~ Just know you are going to be the best you!!! That you can be very soon! 11 pounds Yeah!!!

Thank you for your great words!!!! I am very excited and I expect great changes in me on three levels mentally, spiritually and physically. This has been a hard decision and one that took me looking at myself and being honest.

I am impressed that you lost weight before the surgery. I am now 262... The biggest I have ever been. I am only 5'5 so you know I look like a basket ball. I am trying to motivate myself to exercise but I am soooooooo discouraged by the number on the scale. Good Luck on losing the rest of your weight! I know you will do well because you are determined.

Hello I am a NYC person as well!! I also have GHI. The Dr told me that I have to wait 6mths to receive an approval. Is that true???? I see that you were banded in August that seems fast..... Tell me the story.

The words that your friend shared with you are very inspiring!!!! This journey of regaining our body and the image that we want people to see is all a matter of believing that we are WORTH it. I will have to read that statement a couple of times but I have the point of it planted in my soul.

I am very funny..... I am the funny fat girl that always has a joke to share. Now I just want to be the funny girl. I went to the Pulmonary Doctor and he cleared me. Next week I have the endoscopy exam..... The nutritionist is in October. I have been cleared by everyone else..... Now, I just weight the 6 months as required by insurance.

How is things going??? I know that you are doing liquids but how do you feel?? You know you have to keep me updated..... At the pre op stage you want to know EVERYTHING..... Well I do because I am nosey.

I am the one in the black dress. My feet have been killing me all Summer long!!! I can barely walk some days. I have been playing with the idea of this Lap band thing for the past year!!! NOW I am at the point where I am not going to be FAT at 40. I want to be healthy for my children and myself. Girl I can share with you some TMI stories. You know "US" Capricorns have stories like no other. I don't like to vomit at all and I hope my body remembers that when I finally have the surgery.

Well, I have the prayers going to GOD that he continues to keep you as you get over your FOOD addiction through the surgery!! lol That is what I call my love of food an addiction.

Good luck on your surgery!!!! I am glad that you explained about the importance of a smaller Liver in order to receive the on incision surgery.

Msdeneen that all about me moment has happen this year!!! I am very happy that you said that!!! I will praying for you and I hope that you get through this time frame with ease. Keep me posted!!! I am aiming for the procedure to be done in November. I have done the weight watchers thing and the Phen fen, so I don't think I will have to go through so much nutritional advice. I have gone to the Cardiologist, endocrinologist, this week Pulmonary.... September 1st Endoscopy and then nutritionist, psy is last.

I am just starting on this journey of Lap Band and I hope you will add me as a friend so that I can read you post. I really want to know the ups and downs to this surgery.

To say the least I am a little scared.

Was you scared anytime during the pre op journey??? When did you start the diet to lose weight without the lap band?? I am full of questions. I just started and I hope to have my surgery by the latest November.
