  1. You need to.start buying your own food if your mom won't. And I agree with other comments that it is YOUR responsibility to make follow up appointments. The key to band success is having follow ups and attending support groups.

How old were you when you had the surgery?

I'm sorry to hear that you're depressed. Try looking into attending a few local support classes and do your best to get back on track.

  2. It's very much similar to Chalene Johnson's Beach body TURBO JAM. It has alot of her moves (that's why I nailed every move

    during my first class) ;)

Loved the class. An hour's worth of constant movements and it's fun!

I actually like it alot more than ZUMBA (sorry people). I don't like the latin-inspired music..

If you haven't tried it, I do recommend trying out BOTH classes to see if you're more of a ZUMBA person or a TURBO kickboxing person.

    Just wanted to share!

  3. I loveee me some popcorn! I buy the smart pops which is lower in calories and fat.

Don't worry honey! You'll be able to eat popcorn again in the future. You can pretty much eat all the foods you once loved,

but just in much, much smaller portions and preferably a healthier version of it.

I still don't do fried foods, but I do fall under the carbohydrate spell...I can't say no to carbs...

  5. That sounds like my family too! They will gossip and spread it like there is no tomorrow.

That is why.....my husband is the only one who knows !

I have been eating right, working out and people relate my weight loss with just that. I would understand if I were to drop ten pounds in a week and people start questioning. But thanks to the band, the weight loss is gradual and very natural.

Next time.. I wouldn't share anything with anyone if you know that's their nature. It will all be okay :)

    Good luck !

  6. Yay for your weight loss success! I think you're not taking in enough calories.

Initially after surgery, you're good with 600-700 calories a day because you're just consuming liquids and mushies.

But it's hard to keep that calorie range once solid foods kick in. I use myfitnesspal app on my Android phone

and it has helped me track what I eat. Protein is super important!!

That's also fantastic that you are exercising. Looks like you're doing well with everything..keep it up !!! :D

  7. I was walking around the house, at the malls, park, etc right after surgery. I felt like crap the first three to four days post surgery, but after that, things took

a turn for the better. At two weeks, I was exercising at the gym on the treadmill and ellipticals. I would say, after your two-week post op

appointment with your doctor, you should be okay. After six weeks, you can do ANYTHING your heart desires.

  8. I would have to vote for hiking!!! I hiked yesterday in Laguna (CA) and it was amazing. I love nature trails.

I don't really enjoy the heat at all, but all in all... it's one of my favorite things to do. Biking hurts my bottom :(

and I would only consider running if someone was chasing me with a gun (ha ha..)

  9. Hi Slm2007, it's a good thing that you were able to vent. I'm sorry that you are going through a tough time, but baby steps

to changing around routines will make a difference trust me. Are you working out? Maybe..try to bump up work out routines .

I'm averaging a 1-2 lbs per week depending on how healthy I eat. The band will work for you. It will take some time. Best wishes!

  10. First of all, let me just say what an amazing job you did to lose that 125 lbs.

Way to go! That is so awesome :)

As for getting your lapband removed, I honestly think it is your decision to make, BUT

a second opinion from different doctors could help you decide. I personally have never

even thought about removing my band because it took alot for me to even get it in the first place.

As some people have stated in the above comments, weight gain is a possibility, but if you

truly think you have full control of your eating habits and new lifestyle changes, then do what

    makes you happy :)

In the end...negative comments or positive, you come first in your own happiness. Wish you the best

of luck with whatever you choose!
