  1. Whey protein is the most common source of protein in shakes.
  2. I'd say back up. That was probably too much food for your first solid meal. Just eat a bit less next time and see how it goes. My first solid meal was 1/4 cup and it stayed that way for three weeks.
  3. I didn't have much post op pain but boy was I tired! I think the lack of calories plus recovering for anesthesia was really draining. I was still napping every day at two weeks out.
  4. Shirley, I looked at the manufacturers website for Muscle Milk Light. It contains whey. What type of Protein does the label for the one you drink say it has in it? What flavor is it? I'm interested because I can't have whey and am looking for a new shake.
  5. What kind of Protein is listed on the label? I looked it up on their website.
  6. Rather than looking for healthy cheese (sounds like you are too much of a cheese lover to sacrifice taste - low fat cheese isn't worth it really!) I would just really monitor quantity. Have two ounces and leave the rest.
  7. I love EA active and EA active 2. Jillian from the biggest loser also has an exercise game but I didn't like it much.
  8. Jaynie, Someone else had the same thing and their surgeon hadn't removed the priming Fluid that the band comes with (allegedly). Seems like something is causing the problem. I'm wondering if the throat thing is from being intubated during surgery - it gave me a bit of a sore throat for a few days. Also, does the chest pain come with deep breathing? Sometimes I felt pain when I tried to breathe deeply - it went away. Just keep an eye on it.
  9. Muscle Milk is low lactose but contains whey. The OP is lactose and whey intolerant.
  10. Do you still have taPe or bandaids on them? The tape itched me terribly so I rubbed a bit if baby oil on them and that helped. Also, I am allergic to bandaids and Neosporin so that makes me red and itchy.
  11. Jaynie, I have a feeling your surgeon might have out fluid in your band at the time of surgery. Call you surgeon and find out if there is any fluid in your band. If there is, ask to have it removed. I see these posts all the time and that is often the problem. Keep us posted.
  12. I didn't but I have seen someone else on this forum post about this. I want to say their surgeon said it had something to do with a study regarding lapbands. I could be wrong but maybe do a forum search for liver biopsy. Sorry I don't have more details.
  13. Optimum Nutrition's Soy protein is delish. The strawberry is not good but the chocolate and vanilla are good.

    Still on plateau, really confused

Hi, Boot camp is too much for me but my sister - who is a normal weight - started boot camp and gained four pounds in a week! It's intense muscle building. Stick with it! You might want to consider doing the body fat weighing or measurement so you can see the positive changes even if you don't see it on the scale. I admire you for doing boot camp.... I'm too chicken!!
  15. Mine was the 9th too! Feels good to be moving forward!
  16. I mix a spoonful of sugar free smuckers jam into my Greek yogurt. The apricot is my fave.

    Healthy Chinese Food?

I don't know if you have PF Changs near you but they make a delicious Steamed Ginger Salmon dish. It's about 360 calories for the whole dish - I couldn't even eat half. It was wonderful.
  18. I didn't have gas pains either. I know that I got lucky.
  19. Hey Robin,

Just checking in with you... today is my six month anniversary date. I'm down 75 pounds - still no fill! Only 47 left to go..

    i dont understand

I have had ZERO complications. Today is my six month surgery anniversary date and I have lost 75 pounds (only 47 left to go). I have no Fluid in my band and have never had a fill. I don't feel like a need a fill. I will say this... I don't think my success is solely related to my band. I feel that the combination of long-term intensive therapy along with the band have made this journey very easy for me. Why not go and read the success stories thread? Or even the "Who has lost 100 pounds?" thread. There are many ways to get inspiration here on this forum. You can do this. You've got what you need to make it happen. If you need some sort of therapy - consider www.foodaddictsanonymous.org - that program helped me a lot too. Best wishes!
  21. This seems like a lot of food each day. I'd say cut your carbs. No pretzels/popcorn/starches/bread. How many calories are you consuming on average? That must be more than 1200.

    Post op weight loss

How many calories are you eating? If you don't know, you need to journal or track your calories. Are you working out? If not, start. Burn more calories than you consume. Get back on track! You can do it!
  23. I agree with Reverie. I used to make up some of my calorie deficit by weighing out and snacking on mixed nuts as my evening snack. You don't have to eat too many to get some calories. I'd figure out how many I needed and weigh out enough nuts to equal that number of calories.

    DEPRESSED

Make sure you are drinking at least 80 ounces of water a day. I can almost guarantee that will help with the constipation. Drug store remedies do not work properly unless you are drinking more water than usual. I hope it gets better soon!
