    Not happy with myself

My first few weeks I ATE... My first fill cut those portions in half... So I"m hoping my next one will do the same. My friend is filled to 6cc and is super full after 3 bites... Good Luck!

    Quick Breakfast foods?

I haven't had a fill yet, but I usually drink a Atkins Protien shake and then about 10 - 15 mins later I have a banana, and then some coffee!! =) Then about noon an early lunch... (dinner from the night before).. Usually chicken & broccoli with cheese
  6. Congradulations!! Keep it up!! I lost alot during liquids too, but not near as much as you have! Keep it up!!
  7. Thats the same possition I'm in. I had my surgery on September 17th 2010 & I lost 13 lbs the first week after surgery since I started the week before surgery.... But I weighed last night and I've since gained 3 lbs back... I'm not restricted what so ever... I sure hope the first fill makes a difference... I've been on solids since about 2 weeks after surgery..
  8. The first few days were rough, but after that its all up hill from there! Almost back to normal. The port site is still tender, but getting a little better! Keep n touch and let me know how everything goes for you!

    2 1/2 Weeks Banded!

I was banded on September 17th 2010 by Dr Speigel in Houston, TX. It was definately an experience. My last preop meal before my liquid diet started I had my Dad make his homemade Fried Porkchops & Rice & Gravy. I was in heaven. Then three days on clear liquids. Wasn't that bad, atleast there was a goal ahead to reach. The day of surgery I woke up in the recovery room thinging "What the hell is wrong with you Billie (me), Why on earth would you put yourself through this torcher. There is a foreign object in your body, and to top it off, you have to go through this crap again to have it removed." I was extrememly worried and scared. But every day after surgery was so much better then the previous day. The gas pains were eased by walking around, as were the nassea feelings. If I could burp, I would feel 100 times better. Its a totally different world burping with lapband. (tmi I know) but it is!! For those of you who just went through it, or are going to do it, just remember each day gets so much better. I'm barely going to reach my 3weeks post op on Friday and I've been eating solid foods for a week now. I feel like I'm over eating. Its time for a fill already, but I have to wait one more week. Keep your heads up and there is a brighter path to come!! Feel free to email or messageme anytime! I would love to have friends who are goign through the same thing as me, considering I have no immediate friends who live close and have had lapband, gastric, ect...

    4 days out

When I went in for Surgery I had a UTI and didn't know it, until my white cell count was up. So he gave me antibiots for that too, but it makes for a MISSERABLE surgery! Hope your feeling better!!!!

    2 1/2 Weeks Banded!

I live in Houston, Tx. Thats so exciting. 15 pounds is awsome!! Since I've started eating solids, I'm sure I've gained a couple pounds, but thats expected. Not too happy about it though! One week after surgery I had lost 13 lbs.. Does your Port side still ache? Mine is very tender still.

    2 1/2 Weeks Banded!

One other thing.. The day after surgery was a Saturday. I got really nasseas and scared because I didn't want to throw up after just having had surgery. I called Dr. Spiegel and had to leave a message on his cell phone. To my surprise he actually called back to check on me, which reassured me and made me feel like even on his busy Saturday at the office, he made an effort to take care of me too. (phenegan for nassea worked wonders). I've heard some bad things about the office and stuff, but over all they have been the biggest help and took time to sit down and talk to me one on one (Dr.Spegiel & Staff) numerous times. I would recomend them to anyone!

    Liquid Diet 09-14-10

My liquid diet consisted of Protien shakes, atleast 3 a day. Up to 5 if needed. Jello, Broth (bullion cubes), sugar free jello, coffee tea water or any crystal light. It wasn't bad after the first day. I think the first day is the hardest, then after that you aren't even really hungry.

    Liquid Diet 09-14-10

Day 1,First 2 hours: Lots of ups and downs already. Had to break the worst habit ever which is fast food breakfast stop on the way to work. Its hard to remember your on a liquid diet when your so used to your routine... But I'm doing it so far, and its gonna be a long day ahead of me, but its all good because I'm gonna look like Barbie ~!!:smile::eek:
  15. Hey Lisa, just thought about you and wanted to see how you were doing. Have you gotten banded yet? I recieved mine on the 17th of September.. Definately an experience. Hope to hear from you soon!

  16. Walking seems to do the trick for me... I started to feel nasseated so I would walk until I burped, then I would feel Great! Hope you feel better. Maybe he can prescribe some phenergan for nassea. I was misserable for the first week and couldn't understand why I would put myself through this, but each day gets somuch better. Hang in there.
  17. Hey Everyone! I'm back!! I did get banded on September 17, 2010. It was definately an experience. At first I wasn't too excited, I asked myself why I would put myself through this willingly, but every day it gets easier! I'm thrilled and I can't wait to start loosing more weight with everyone. Down 13 lbs so far! =)

    Banded today (9/20/10)

Congradulations! I was banded Friday the 17th... Still kinda unsure about everything, but I can tell you this.. The gas pains get easier on day 2-3 of recovery!! I have no gas pains now, but my incisions are sore... If you can walk around and try to shake the burps out it helps the pain near your sternum But the gas pains aren't the same gas they are from where they blow up your stomach during surgery, so if you walk around you'll feel it roll up to your shoulders ect.. Hope you get to feeling better. =) Its good to walk & be active, but you must rest too!
  19. Gargle with salt water or peroxide water mix, if that doesn't help, you probably have a cold, or allergic to something..Always best to ask your doctor. Better safe then sorry!
  20. If your grilling it, what about wrapping it in foil after a few mins of sering the meat... With some extra virgin olive oil, or i can't believe its not butter, even maybe 1/2 cup water...??

    Banded on August 23rd

Congradulations! Hope all is well. Keep us updated!! I have Surgery Sept 17 if all goes well.. Really don't know what to expect!!

    October 2009

    Your pictures are wonderful!!
  23. omg.. I can't believe it takes that long to heal. My doctor told me I should be back to work in 2-3 days as long as I have a desk job. My surgery is scheduled for a Friday, and Monday morning I go back to work! Hope I can handle it!!... Also is there a weight limit for picking stuff up? I'm a little concerned on picking up my son for school and putting him in his car seat.. He's two, but weighs atleast 35lbs...He's my quarterback!
