  1. Alright I was banded first thing this morning. Everything is going well execpt for Two Things.

I heard people talk about this gas pain and thought that it really couldnt be that bad. Yes it is and it hurts more than anything else.

Also I am unabe to keep anything down. I have only tried Water but everytime I drink some I get a knot right up under my sternum. It reall is hurting. anyone experience this.

Congradulations! I was banded Friday the 17th... Still kinda unsure about everything, but I can tell you this.. The gas pains get easier on day 2-3 of recovery!! I have no gas pains now, but my incisions are sore... If you can walk around and try to shake the burps out it helps the pain near your sternum But the gas pains aren't the same gas they are from where they blow up your stomach during surgery, so if you walk around you'll feel it roll up to your shoulders ect..

Hope you get to feeling better. =) Its good to walk & be active, but you must rest too!

  2. omg.. I can't believe it takes that long to heal. My doctor told me I should be back to work in 2-3 days as long as I have a desk job. My surgery is scheduled for a Friday, and Monday morning I go back to work! Hope I can handle it!!... Also is there a weight limit for picking stuff up? I'm a little concerned on picking up my son for school and putting him in his car seat.. He's two, but weighs atleast 35lbs...He's my quarterback!

  3. My name is Billie. I'm from Houston, TX. I'm having my surgery on September 17th. Already I am eating like a pig, trying to get all of my favorite meals out of the way before hand!! My husbands on the loosing side, because he will no longer have home cooked meals everyday! Cereal here he comes! But then again he doesn't have weight issues (lucky)! But overall, your posts are pretty entertaining and make me feel like I'm not alone... Its gonna be one tuff journey, but we'll make it kicking & screaming! =)

  4. Hello everyone, My name is Billie. I'm 29 years old. I have been overweight my whole life. After pregnancy two years ago, I've had HBP & Adema ever since.

Hoping to be able to chase my little man around the yard & not have to take a break, because Mommy's out of shape!!

Recently I went to Dr. Speigals office for a consult. My surgery is scheduled for September 17, 2010. My insurance will NOT cover my surgery so I am financing a personal loan through my bank.

Can't wait to be a thinner me!!
