    Complication insurance for private pays!!!

I looked into Bliss last night. Looks like it covers surgery re-do's, but my surgeon isn't enrolled. It's pretty expensvie too. The comlication insurance is cheap and is kind of like a life insurance policy but pays if an accident were to happen. The payout goes as high as $300k for around $100. My husband and I talked about it and once I get my surgery date, we re getting a policy. What's another $100 is what my husband said. @ GeorgieGirl1957: I called Jason at the complication insurance company last night. He's on the east coast, so it was around 9o'clock his time and he picked up! Apparently his phone routes to his house because I heard his baby in the background. He was very nice and very informative. He didn't mind taking time to answer all my questions. Especially on his time with his family. Just great customer service! pamela

anything that my doc didn't mention?

it's basically a liquid protein diet. No carbs (which I crave and what got me into this mess!), no wine, no sweets. I guess it's what I can't have that's killing me. I know I need to be getting my body and self used to the new diet or I'll just be wasting my money and shortening my lifespan.

    Complication insurance for private pays!!!

I read on here that a user was billed over $10k for the anesthiologist that was not part of the bariatric surgeons fees. Any one else have that happen? I'll look into both the Bliss and complication insurance tonight. Does my surgeon have to offer Bliss? I did a quick poke on the complication insurance site and saw that they are in Texas. Still hating this diet!!! By the way, this is a great site. So much info and support.:lol0: Thnx! Back to work! pamela

anything that my doc didn't mention?

Thank you SParkle! You definitely brought to light some questions I would have never even begun to think of. I am worried about having to have another procedure if this one gets botched. I trust my surgeon, but the leakage and infections scare me. I'm poking around to see if any one has advice or any experiences with either. PS: any advice on this pre-op diet I'm on. Grrrrr!:lol0: pamela
  9. Help! I want to make sure I ask my surgeon about everything. I know he won't volunteer info unless I ask. He has been confident and reassuring so far, but I have a month to go and am getting nervous. Has anyone wished they had an answer or wish they would've asked a specific question prior to surgery but didn't? My Mom is recovering from breast cancer surgery and wished she asked more questions. Need help in Texas!!! pamela

    Complication insurance for private pays!!!

Thank goodness. I got lucky registering here today. I'm going thru the pre-op diet right now and was looking for advice on everything to do with my surgery next month. You know, all the things that my doc may have not mentioned. I'm in Texas and a private pay. Do they have a website to poke around on? Any help on coping with this pre-op diet would help too. I hate it! pamela

    First consultation

I'm having my first consultation tomorrow. Should there be any specific questions I ask my doctor and nutritionist? I guess after the consultation, I file with my insurance company? p
  12. I'm new here and concerned about insurance, too. I'm still debating even having a lapband, but it is good to know there are a lot of people out there going thru what I am. Thanks everyone. p

    Newb Intro :c)

Hey Erin, I'm new here too from TX contimplating a lapband to improve my quality of life. I haven't approached my insurance company yet, but I probably won't get any good news. Plus, I'm nervous. Welcome and look forward chatting with you. p
  14. I'm looking for help and support. I'm considering a lapband due to health issues and because I want a better quality of life with my family. I'm worried about the risks of the procedure, how long is recovery, if anyone has experienced anything negative, etc. Anyone advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. p
