  4. Hi Susan,

I began my journey to bariatric surgery in August. My initial decision was to have the Lap Band, but changed my mind after speaking with a few Bandster and sleevers. I have seen the Psychologist, Nutrionist (1 time), and have to continue my visits until I am done. My insurance is Aetna, and I was told it would take three months before I could have the surgery. I am 350 pounds and want to this for myself, but mostly for my children, Can you offer any words of encouragement?

    Thanks Tenesha

Has anyone else been told this?

Hey, I had a similar experience, at my first consultation. I was told that I should get the GS because of my BMI being over 50. I told my surgeon that I felt more comfortable with the lap-band, and that was the surgery I would prefer. He stated that I would lose weight with the Lap- Band versus the GS. The past few days I have been researching GS, and I still think that with hardwork, I will be just as successful with the Lap-Band. Maybe we can help each other out. Tenesha
  6. Has anyone been very successful with the Lap Band surgery with a BMI over 50. My surgeon suggested the gastric sleeve because of my BMI, and I feel more comfortable getting the Lap-Band. Thanks, Tenesha
