  1. unjury chicken soup is NASTY!!! Tried one sip and the package went right back to them. I was really hoping it was going to be good. I'm glad those who like it are able to benefit from it.
  2. Here's the simple version, You tell people great. You don't tell people also great. For me I kept it on my private FB page with my family and friends (all have been supportive), and then decided to start a public page about my journey. Whatever option you choose you have to be comfortable with and no one else.
  3. Just sent you a PM. Just stay focused. Try not to worry about the ups and downs so much. I've started my journey at 688 pounds, and this past week broke the 200 pounds lost mark. My VSG is this Friday. The nerves are kicking up a notch as each day passes, but I'm ready for the next phase I don't believe there is a way around the pre-op supervised diet. Insurance is going to want verification of the steps each step along the way. I too wanted to avoid a spring/summer surgery because I am unable to swim for several weeks. I totally understand the impatient part. I was that way too. Just don't rush it. The process will work its way out and soon enough you'll be rocking a body that no longer feels like an anchor. Best of luck to you!!
  4. I couldn't even get it down when i tried to tolerate it. I ended up throwing it all away after nearly throwing up. Good luck!!!!! All it took me was 1 small sip and I was like no way.
  5. Good to see I'm not the only one. Surgery Friday 11-6.
  6. Received the unjury chicken soup flavor Thursday afternoon and put it to immediate use for dinner. What I can say here without getting banned is DISGUSTING!!!! As I tried it there were a few 4 letter words. It also smells unappealing as well. I emailed them and they're allowing me to return it to them for a refund. The WORST tasting powder I have tried. I frankly don't know how anyone likes this chicken stuff.
  7. Just has my pre-op yesterday. You get surgery day instructions, when to arrive, showering directions, what pills to take if any, and then I had labs, chest film, and EKG done. That was it. Took about 1.5 hours. Surgery day is Friday this week.
  8. My office also suggested SF chocolate syrup or caramel syrup.
  9. I miss my Pure Protein, this Chike crap the surgeon uses is off tasting.Hello how is that pure protein ? what flavor do you use ? Is it foamy ? What do you mix it with? Have you had Premier Protein does it taste like that? The Chike is quiet horrible in comparison to the Pure Protein. Surgeon's pre-op plane only calls for the Chike, and I use mostly chocolate and on occasion a vanilla one. I can't wait to be done with them and go back to my preferred brand. I use just Water and ice direct or blended. It is not foamy at all. I don't believe I've had Premier Protein.
  10. I miss my Pure Protein, this Chike crap the surgeon uses is off tasting.
  11. Some good suggestions here thanks!
  12. If I went the hummus rout what could I eat it with at this stage? Normally I'd use celery, crackers, carrots before surgery.
  13. I finished my 6 months req visits but I was wondering if it matters that I gained like 2 pounds when I go sign consent omg good luck!! Ugh I think I gained 1-2 pounds I hope it doesn't affect me I don't think it will, but every surgeon is different. I'm on Day 5 of the pre-op liquid diet. Seems the worst in regards to stomach aches and headaches have passed. Just stay focused on the goals and what food you're eating and you'll do fine. I've had my ups and down weeks too. Good luck!
  14. I signed my consent at the surgeons office this past Tuesday, and my surgery is not till November 6th. Dr did weight me as he does at every visit. I already had the date prior to signing @scarlep. Good luck!
  15. Thanks for the tips everyone! Helping me get a shopping list together as I hit each of the post op scheduling.
  16. Chike are my favorite, but my office says the carbs are too high, wahhh! They're okay, but much prefer Pure Protein. After the pre-op diet and surgery I can go back to what I want instead of Chike.
  17. I'm Nov 6th, and started the liquid diet Weds. Day 2 was ROUGH! Day 3 today has been okay. My stomach has been rumbling and gurgling non-stop since Weds night. Should be interesting to see what the scale says tomorrow as it is weigh in day. Had a headache all day on day 2. Day 3 still a headache, but very faint and dissipating as the day has gone on. Good luck!!
  18. @@Andi2522 I feel your pain. Surgery day is Nov 6th for me. Started the liquid diet yesterday. 3-4 Protein shakes per day, broth, and Crystal Light. Surgeon uses Chike Protein Shakes. Today is day 2 and while I feel okay, my stomach is pissed off!! Hang in there!! We got this!
  19. Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet complete. Feeling okay, but my stomach is screaming a bunch of 4 letter words at me.
  20. Riding a bike. Wearing normal clothes. Just getting out of the house more without being in pain.
  21. Pre surgical Dr visit Tuesday. Pre-op diet starts Thursday. Surgery Nov 6th. Can't believe how fast it's coming.
  22. 3 weeks from tomorrow (Friday Nov 6th) it's on like donkey kong!!
