Food funerals
Thanksgiving will be difficult since I will be a day shy of 3 weeks post op. I'll still help the family cook, but my meal will be in line with what my post-op plan allows. I can always have turkey some other day.

scale!
I go with the weekly weigh in approach, every Saturday in fact. Reason being, if I go up I'm able to course correct before 10 pounds shows up. I've had weeks where I went up 3 or 4 pounds, and then refocused the following week and dropped 5-8 pounds. The scale has really helped keep me on track even in weeks where it doesn't move. If anything, when the scale goes up, it motivates me to work harder the following week, to get it to go back down.

Food funerals
I think some are forgetting that a food funeral prior to pre-op doesn't need to be a crappy food feast of McDonalds, Burger King, chips and brownies. You can have a food funeral with healthy stuff. As I mentioned above I love a nice hearty steak, so my food funeral will consist of a fillet migon with some veggies and a salad. This will also be several days before pre-op kicks in.

Puree food ideas
Good ideas all. Going to need these soon.

protein powder
I use pure Protein pre-op, and I plan on using it post-op too. I believe the flavor is called rich chocolate. I get it in the 2 pound tubs.

Surgery Date Set... (November)
November 6th. Got the call this morning. Guess I need to start prepping all my stuff, Soups, Jello, etc. Pre-op diet starts on 10-22-15. Was not expecting that phone call today. Figured I would've found out on 10/7 when I had my appointment with him, but nurse said he reviewed my stuff and we're ready to go. For his liquid diet he uses Chike shakes. Will pick that up a few days before my pre-op diet. Any feedback from anyone here on them? After losing 170+ pounds on my own in 19+ months, I can't believe this is finally happening.

6 Days to lose 10 pounds
Sounds like he's being a bit of a jerk. Had he given you a number prior to reach before surgery or did he spring this on you Thursday? I don't see how that's possible, except without eating which isn't healthy. Best of luck to you!!

haven't lost a lb in 4 days...
Your body is adjusting to the changes. I wouldn't worry. I'm pre surgery, lost 176 pounds to date and there were weeks where I didn't lose, and then all of a sudden 6,7, or 8 pounds in one week with no change in diet.

My story is new gossip:(
Her judgement or lack thereof says more about her then you. I've been very public about my weight loss and my intention to get the sleeve done. My support has been beyond what I thought. People who proclaim the easy way out excuse, couldn't go through this process if they've tried. They should be happy that you've decided to get healthy rather than criticize you. People who put down other people are small and narrow minded. Your success bothers them, so keep succeeding. You do you!! Haters gonna hate.

Anyone have suggestions on decent tasting proteins
What about talking to your NUT or Surgeon and explaining the burden of purchasing them? Provide them with the ones you can afford and compare them to their required ones and see what they say. My surgeon has his preferred ones, but has also approved other ones as well. Or buy what you can afford and don't bring it up unless they ask.

Anyone have suggestions on decent tasting proteins
I use the Pure Protein chocolate ones and they're very good. I usually do mine with 1 scope with 8 ounces of Water and several ice cubes, and drink it over the course of 15 minutes or so. This is my favorite one out of the powders I've tried. I even add regular PB 2 or the chocolate PB2 to reinforce that chocolate flavor. Look on Amazon, as I've found them relatively affordable there. Also my local Target store also carries the Chocolate Pure Protein. My NUT said to just watch the carb count per serving. I usually start my day with this Protein shake. On days where I'm late and miss Breakfast, I usually do a double serving as a brunch type intake. I believe the 1 scope calorie count is 160-170.
