One week post op

Wow, a week already, it seemed like it took forever for approval and even longer for surgery day but once surgery day came , it came and went so fast, after surgery I woke up in so much pain, thinking what the heck did I do to myself, I thought I was prepared. Being as though I had 5 children and 2 of them being twins via c section, all were delivered drug free but my twins. I WAS WRONG, no post, no where on here can even have you imagine what you will feel like until you actually feel it. If you need meds, ask for them, you will not get any regonition or awards for being miserable and in pain, it's a week later and I haven't had any pain meds since Friday, I was in the hospital from Monday, sept 14th, 2015 till Thursday September 17th because I couldn't keep myself dehydrated, and felt like I was pregnant (nauseous ) , It's essential that you sip, walk and rest and repeat and repeat and don't pack a big ol bag cause your honestly not going need none of it, I'm guilty of over packing and wore home the same stuff I wore in, comfy loose clothes and only used , my house coat, slippers, cell phone, charger , extention cord , toothpaste and toothbrush and deodorant, my hospital provided everything else from warm body wipes, chapstick, gas x strips , mouthwash etc etc ....the day of surgery I slept my entire day away but everyday after has gotten better, today I'm in little to no pain and went back to work today, it's strange but I'm not hungry at all so I just sip throughout the day for my Protein and other nutrients and to keep myself hydrated, I cooked Breakfast and dinner for my family for the first time since surgery yesterday, it drained me and, yes it smelled amazing but I had no desire for a taste what so ever more so wanted a fan on me and to rest, Maybe I didn't want a taste, cause it was a fear of the consuquences (after effect) or maybe It's a mind Thing or Maybe both, I have been putting neosporin on my incisions since Friday (check with your dr first) and I have been taking a walk daily everyday a little more, I had a really bad pain in my left shoulder, I freaked out, called the surgeon on call, it was gas built up, he told me to walk more, and wind my shoulder sure enough it went away, if you feel any PAIN or have any type of WORRIES call your doctor /surgery team etc, that's what their being paid for, and drink plenty of fluids, rest and WALK ...thank you for taking the time to read my post and congratulations on your own courage to take this journey, you can do it and you will do it

yw, I had so many fears , biggest one was not waking up, soon as you close your eyes you will open your eyes so no worries and yes you will feel pain but soon as you get meds they work almost immediately, I was in pain for about 15 min tops, At the time it felt longer and stay consistent with it and you will feel little to no pain and make sure walk or u will get gas pains, I had none because I walked alot but didn't over do it, I only had gas pains once and that was in my shoulder , congratulations on your upcoming surgery and best wishes and keep me updated

I have my surgery a week from today. I'm anxious and ready to get it over with.
