    Approved and Scheduled

I'm approved through BCBS of IL. on July 2, but the woman who schedules surgeries is on vacation, but I would say we will be having surgery close to each other. It took eight business days for my insurance to look over everything and get me approved.

    Sleep apnea and sleeve surgery?

I don't know how severe your sleep apnea is so by all means talk to your surgeon and do what you are told...I think it is usually a requirement to bring to the hospital. I was told after a few months I wouldn't need a cpap after losing some weight, no one seems very concerned about my sleep apnea.
  12. Oh, how I hope I can get my fluids in like you after surgery!
  13. I know how you feel. I don't want my daughter to be overweight like me...she is told that she is beautiful, gorgeous, pretty etc. on a regular basis, been told she needs to do pageants, be on The Disney Channel...you get the point! I'm hoping when I go walking and eat less she will too, God Bless!!!
  14. My information started being reviewed on June 24, I'm hoping to hear something next week. In the meantime I went for the part of the sleep study that you sleep with the cpap on, that was FREAKY LOL. The guy giving me the test said it was basically a waste because I will probably not need it after I lose some weight. Another thing, my bariatric pal emails started going to my bulk mail, does anyone know how I can fix this? Have a great Independence Day, God Bless everyone!

    Desperate and panicking

You decided to have this surgery for a reason, think back and remember why you wanted and had this surgery. You will be healthier and happier, just give it some time. Eat and drink what you should so you won't be so weak. You know there are things you can't eat, and you knew that before surgery. Embrace your new self and enjoy losing weight, I think it will get better for you, God Bless!!!

New: nighttime hot flashes, 3.5 mo out

I have thought about this...would I have hot flashes after I lose weight? I had a hysterectomy in 2009, I'm 43 years old and I do not have hot flashes, thank God!!! I was told that heavier women have less hot flashes because estrogen stores in fat cells, so if I lose fat would I start getting hot flashes? I have no home remedies, sorry, but I was just going to say I have thought of this as a possible scenario.

    Psych Eval today

Good...my surgeon is booked up six to eight weeks ahead...I haven't been approved by insurance yet, then I will have Pre-op class and last surgeon appointment and two day liquid diet.
  18. The BCBS of IL already did away with the six month supervised diet but a lot of surgeons and patients aren't aware of it...I got a copy of my policy and sent it to my insurance coordinator at the surgeons office, no one believed me lol.

  20. 1-). The stuck feeling that people talk about, is that usually from not chewing food enough? 2-) What's up with some people having rapid heart rate after surgery? 3-). I hear some people having so much energy after surgery and some feel so weak, any insight?

    getting sleeved 6/26/2014

I made an appointment a few years ago to see a bariatric surgeon and then I called and cancelled. I need this surgery and my information has been sent for insurance approval. Honestly, sometimes I wonder if I will go through it! More than likely I will...I'm about 5 ft 2 and about 240 lbs. so I definitely need it. Good luck and God Bless!!!
  22. A friend of mine and I both had our information sent in for insurance approval today, yay! My friend was told that after approval they are scheduling for September already, which means we may not be scheduled for October! I will update!!!

    Frustrated (((rant)))

I have realized I will not be looking forward to be under a microscope after surgery. Yes, you do have to eat, try your best to not let her aggravate you.
