  13. Here's my story...I wanted lap-band in 2010 and didn't even see a surgeon or go to a seminar because I basically "chicken out". I started the sleeve journey in March, thinking I had a six month supervised diet, then found out my insurance didn't require it. So, I thought I would be having surgery in July, then I had a delay, then I thought it would be August because my surgeon is super busy. Then, I got approved and was for sure thinking I could get it in September. Finally, today I talked to the insurance coordinator/scheduler, she told me it would probably be October because the surgeon is so busy, I was soooo disappointed...then she asked me what my BMI is, I told her, she said that on Tuesdays the surgeon does fairly easy cases early in the morning, only one surgery a day on Tuesdays and she would let me know next week if I will be sleeved on August 5 or 12. I was sooo excited at that news. But I have cried three times after finding out! I know I won't "chicken out" this time but wow, reality sets in, someone cheer me up! I guess I'm back into the August Sleevers posts again! LOL

    Nutibullet or Ninja

I currently don't own a blender, that's why I am looking into one of these. I want to be able to purée foods and make shakes. If your blender works well, no need to buy another one. God Bless!!!
  16. I want to know too...I hear a lot of people on here are fans of Fitbit, so I will probably go with that.

    July 25th

I'm approved but not scheduled yet...I feel the same way, I think it's very common. Most people two months after surgery are super glad they had it!

    new to this

I was just approved...my insurance doesn't require the six month supervised diet...they require a BMI of 40 or higher or a BMI of 35 with a comorbidity. I had lab work, chest x-ray, EKG, Seminar, Nutrition Meeting, Psych Evaluation, surgeon visit, and a referral letter from my PCP. You can go to your insurance website or call them and have them send you the requirements for you to get approved, good luck!

    Juicing

If you have high blood pressure then you might just need a BMI of 35...

    Grocery Bill . . .

My single friends grocery went down considerably...no more spending $30 a day on fast food plus whatever he bought for his house...I know my bill will go down, there is no way I will be able to consume what I do now after surgery
