  1. I did read where someone on here got to back up for talking about weight loss, but not sure about your insurance and I think you have to see a specific nutritionist.

    Want to back out.

You need a mentor who has already went through this...I worry about my hair thinning but it will grow back, and in the words of my friend, "they sell wigs". Good luck and pray about it, God Bless!!!
  3. I am required to get a letter of recommendation from my PCP stating they support my decision to have bariatric surgery, I go in the morning, yay
  4. I'm getting my first set of blood work tomorrow...I haven't heard of anyone in my area getting a sleep apnea study
  5. Im just beginning my journey and I know I have to have a psych evaluation...my concern is that I take anti anxiety medication and anti- depressant to control panic attacks and the medicine controls them extremely well...does anyone know if this will hurt my chances of surgery?

    Anyone wearing bikinis?

Use Mederma cream...scars and stretch marks fade but not completely...I noticed you weighed what I do now and I am wondering if your skin is loose or if it's fine?

    Hair extensions

I am concerned about hair loss, has your hair gotten real thin? That price is a little high but I'm in WV, but I'm sure it will look wonderful, especially two colors.

    Emotions

I think it's normal to wonder...I feel like I will regret later on if I don't do it now
  9. I do not have to take sleep apnea test or upper G.I. I do have to have a letter by my PCP, attend a seminar, see a nut., get a psych evaluation...but I do have to do a six month access chart where I'm supposed to diet and I'm monitored, but my I insurance doesn't require me to lose any weight...I'm very early in so I will update! I'm glad to know my first weigh in tomorrow is what my insurance will go by, in case, I lose weight
  10. My name is Karen, I am 40 years old, been overweight for 30 years. I stopped smoking 5 years ago and went on an anti-depressant and gained about 60lbs, on top of already being fat. I am really concerned about people complaining about the pain of eating after being banded. Also, if people who are banded can only eat a little, why do some people only lose 40 lbs. in a year and some can lose that in the first 4 months? I've heard of people wishing they had never had it done, so I just wonder what is so bad about it? I would like anyone to give me straight forward answers and advice. I would love to get banded!
  11. Didn't the consultation help you??? I feel the same as you...I'm thinking of what I can do to try to lose it myself instead of surgery. I think I will continue to walk, maybe just more, and cut down on my food intake and see if I can manage to lose weight, but at the same time go to the Surgeon and see how I feel about it as time passes a little.
