Yes I need to get back to measuring my food. Especially since I can eat more than that now. Thanks for the advice Mews.

    I Can Eat Anything

My stomach is completely healed and I am eating about a cup a meal. Some foods use to hurt, but now everything is tasting good without any discomfort. Now that I can eat anything, I am having a hard time resisting sweets. I am 18 months out and I am really fighting to keep this in check. Anyone else having this head hunger problem? If so any suggestion to overcome it?

    Sleevers Vs Revisioners

Sleeve was my first WLS. I thought about the band and did a lot of research and realized I needed to go the way I did. Best thing I have ever done for myself. Went from 327 to 155 in 16 months. Hope you do well with your decision.
  6. No, you can continue to lose weight after 2 years. If you exercise and watch your calorie intake the weight continues to come off. What happens is if you aren't careful you will began to eat more and start to gain it back because your stomach is completely healed and you get to where you can eat anything you want. It becomes a case of disipline on your part. Head hunger still plays a great part in your struggle to lose and keep the weight off. I am nearly 2 years out and am beginning to have to use self control more than I have in the past. Remember this sugery is a tool, we choose to use it correctly.

    Insurance Companies DO cover plastics

I am so glad to hear I might be able to get some help with all the extra skin I have. Thanks for all this great info. I am going to see a plastic surgeon next week to see about breast reconstruction because of a lumpectomy I had because of recent breast Cancer. The nurse said the breast had to be bad enough for the insurance to consider implants. I am so saggy losing all my weight then on top of that having a chunk taken out because of the lumpectomy. i sure hope he helps me get this fixed. Maybe even help me get oked to do a tummy tuck. Here's hoping!
  11. You can do it! You made the right choice for a healthier you. I will be watching for your progress. Need anything just ask. I will do my best to help you on your new life's journey! My best to you.
  12. First I want to say the first 3 months were not easy. Once I got used to the change it became a new way of life. I still struggle with head hunger and know this is a life time problem I will always deal with. Sweets were and still are my downfall. Right now I have a bowl of Cheerios and milk 1/2c each for Breakfast. Snack about 10, a Protein bar or a protein smoothie, for lunch a half turkey and cheese sandwich, 1/2 piece of fruit, snack around 3 another protein smoothie with fruit, supper a salad made with chicken breast and all kinds of vegetables and fruits with raspberry balsamic dressing. Snack at night 4 Ritz crackers with a little Peanut Butter and sometimes a sugar free ice cream. Of course this varies. Calories 1000 to 1200 a day. I walk/run 30 minutes 3 times a week on my treadmill and do aerobics 2 times a week for 30 minutes. Another note I can eat anything I want and I can drink Water or tea with my meal and it hasn't bothered my weight lose or my hunger level. I didn't start this till I was a year out from surgery. So please do what your Dr. advises. My life is full of energy, and I have began to leave my house after years of shutting myself in except to go to the grocery store or out to eat. Now I am involved with a local church teaching the youth of all things! I can play basketball and volleyball with them...almost keeping up with them! I feel alive for the first time in years. If I could have only done this 20 years ago. Couldn't so I am grateful that I could do it when I did. Wouldn't go back even if I could.
  13. Thank you everyone. It is really me. I agree I sometimes can't even believe that at one time I looked like the first picture.

    My Texas Sleevers

I'm in Cleveland, Texas 45 miles North of Houston.
  15. I had my vertical sleeve surgery a little over a year ago and have lost from 327 to 160. That's a total lose of 167 lbs. I made my goal of getting to 175 and never thought that I would get to where I am now. Now hoping to go down to 150. The last time I weighed that was when I was 20, that was 39 years ago! I feel amazing! this is the best decision I have ever made in my life! Here is a before shot and a current one.
