  7. I had my first bad dream about my surgery last night. There was a man that kept telling me a million and one reasons why i shouldn't have surgery! I kept yelling at him and saying "you're wrong!" lol I am so excited! I go for my final weigh in tomorrow morning and surgery is friday! 14 days of liquids went by SO quickly. I am eager to see what kind of weight loss I've had the past two weeks. I am so eager to begin this journey already! I am having a hard time focusing at work and focusing on ANYTHING at this point!
  8. My preop diet is 14 days long. I have to drink 3 Protein shakes (Bariatric Advantage brand) and if absolutely necessary i can have an additional 2 shakes as Snacks. Aside from that I can have Water, sugar free Jello and popsicles. I can also do crystal light, but i'm allergic so none for me! I thought it was drastic, but it's really gotten me used to how it's really going to after after the operation. I'd also rather be safe than sorry with the fatty liver business. My insurance required 6 months nutritional counseling, so we did an atkins based diet where I started out at 55g of carbs and was gradually reduced to 20 g of carbs. I am happy to say I haven't cheated at all except for a communion wafer at church! Surgery is friday morning
  9. your pictures are such a motivator for me to work hard with the tool i'm going to get! I look forward to potential bikini days!!! CONGRATS, u look fabulous!

  10. I know i'm so excited!!!! I can't focus at work! I just want to go home and pick out/buy my hospital outfit! Better yet I want to get to my weigh in tomorrow and see how much poundage i've lost on these 14 days of liquids!!!!!!!

  11. WOW! I had this problem the first few days i started my pre-op liquid diet. I even called my mom because I thought I was sick! she said uhhhhh no it's what is supposed to happen to your body! After about a week, i think my insides had finally emptied out because it has subsided dramatically. I am only going when a shake or pudding goes in my body. It's been quite the colon/body detox
  12. we have the same surgery date! finally found another one! I was getting worried thinking OMG i'm the only one so far!

    Time lines

I had my seminar on 12/28/2009. 6 month nutrition program required by my insurance. Submitted a little early to insurance due to benefit changes effective sep 1 and was approved on 7-23-2010. surgery is aug 13
  14. My nutrition wasn't covered by my insurance so i paid out of pocket for it. I just thought of it as the small price to pay for the long-term outcome  I had a friend that went through a PCP, however when she had her last month before surgery with the nutritionist, her PCP hadn't prepped her properly for weight loss surgery! They only had her doing a calorie based diet that didn't focus on carb/fat intake so she's been having a very difficult time with making nutritional changes.
  15. I don't know the exact truth to it, but i was told gaining reflected negatively on your case because it made you look "non-compliant" to the insurance company. Not sure how true this is.
  16. I am looking forward to: - Being Healthy - Wearing cute heels without feeling like my toes are going to have to be amputated afterward because all my weight is bearing down on them! - Cute clothes - Having children - Crossing my legs - Not having to be questioned by airline staff about whether or not i fit in a seat - rollercoasters/amusement parks - sitting in restaurant booth freely without having to question whether i fit - A long life.
  17. your progress is amazing! you totally have made me a firm believer in why exercise will be so important in my journey! congrats!

  23. I have BCBS thru the UT System in texas. I had a 6 month pre op, 5 year medical history requirement, and got approved within 2 weeks of the submission. :blushing: I was rushing for approval and actually was able to send it in a month early (even though I had 6 nutrition visits but doc wanted 7). MY BCBS benefit for bariatric changes on Sep 01, 2010 to a $5000 deductible!!! As it stands now, i'm responsible for 20% maxed out at $1750. only a $250 (already met) deductible. I am VERYYYYYY fortunate i got approved and schedule before then! sugery is aug 13!
  24. I'm getting banded on Aug 13! I got my approval last week from BCBS. I am relieved i got approved before the HUGE benefit change that would've made this surgery impossible!!!!! Liquids so far have actually not been bad at all I am going to stay focused and keep busy to distract my mind from food! I have started crocheting 3 blankets! lol So excited!
