  1. Glad to hear you’re doing better. I understand what you mean by having trouble getting the protein and liquid in. I feel full all the time to and from what I’ve read on this site it’s only temporary and the hunger will return.

I’m sorry about your nausea. I take a couple of crushed meds during the day too. I try to take it with something other than water and although I’m not nauseas I feel like there’s always a huge air bubble in my stomach.

My next Dr. appt is set for 10/25. Let me know how your appt goes.

  2. Hi Jackie,

I'm glad to hear your surgery went well and that you're healing process is going smoothly. It's been a couple of weeks since I've lost anymore weight. I did well during Thanksgiving but I really need to work on making better food choices. I go for my 2nd fill tomorrow and I'm hoping it will jump start my weight loss again.

  3. Hi Jackie, are you familiar with the "My lapband journey" website? They have a few animated video's on pre and post surgery that I found helpful. They also have testimonial videos. Not sure if you have to be a member (I don't think so) but if you're interested the website is: www.lapband.com

Hope you're having a great day.

  4. Hi Jackie, how're things coming along? How're coping with the band? I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch, I dont visit the site much anymore and there have been some changes with my job - all good - but keeping me busy! :).

I've dropped a little bit more weight but not much. I have good and bad days but I try to stay positive and focus on my end result. Let me know how you're doing.

    Lisa

  5. Hi Jackie, I still have some tenderness around the port site and need a little help getting up when laying down but other than that I'm doing pretty good.

Monday was a little tough but I was able to get around ok. Be sure to walk as much as possible after surgery; it really helps with recovery. I walked around my dinning room and hallway 4 laps - 3x's a day.

How're you doing on the liquid diet?

  6. Hi Jackie, I'm really sorry to hear that your surgery got pushed back but I'm thankful that it was caught now instead of later. I felt so bad for you after reading your message. I can only imagine how you felt. But keep your chin up this is just another hic-up in your journey, you will be banded soon.

I've been having some pain with my left shoulder, arm and neck (nothing to do w/surgery). My PT referred me to a physical therapist and I had my first session on Wed. Haven't been on this site too much due to the pain. I'm starting to feel better though and expect to recover soon.

As for the band, I'm currently in "bandster hell". I am so hungry and have had a difficult time staying out of the kitchen. I'm also having trouble balancing my meals. I need to plan my meals better so I get enough of my daily fiber. This is definitely a challange for me.

Jackie, please know that you're in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep me posted on your progress.

  7. Hi Jackie, so glad to hear that you have been given a clean bill of health and are cleared for surgery! I was worried and was glad to see your message that you were approved.

I didn't do so well in the beginning wasn't eating correctly & I began gaining weight. After my first fill I thought I felt restriction but, not for long. I spoke to another bander who had lost 45 lbs since surgery (we had it on the same day), I was only down 20 lbs from the liquid diet. He told me to wait 5 minutes in between bites. I'm sure that was told me before but I didn't remember.

I'm eating solids, mostly tuna and cottage cheese, yogurt and SF popsicles. Not much variety I know. I'm down about 29 lbs since I started my LB journey and only nine of those pounds came after surgery. I'm working out and feeling motivated once again.

Please know that I'm here for you anytime and look forward to hearing all about your surgery and recovery once you're all better.

  8. Hi Jackie, your big day is almost here!! Are you getting excited? I wanted you to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so happy for you and can't wait to hear how it all went. Please send me a message once you are able.

    God Bless!

  9. Hi Pete, welcome to the site!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Let me know if you need help with posting your Avatar...I am no computer wiz but I might be able to help.

I took your advise about eating slower and it really made a difference. I felt satisfied and I stopped eating once there. This is really a life style change and I know in time, as I learn to listen to my body, I will see results.

Thanks so much for your support! God Bless!!

  10. Hi Raychie, how are you doing? I'm doing good only a little sore around my port site so it's hard to get out of bed sometimes. Other than that I'm doing good.

Did you see your DR? Did you get a fill or did Dr say it was okay to wait? I don't see my Dr until the 25th. I think I'll be ready for a fill by then.

Haven't lost more weight but I know my body is still healing. I'm sure next month will be different <>. My feet aren't swollen anymore either. But I can certainly see a difference in my feet. So glad I don't have to take anymore lasix!!

  11. Hi Raychie, how are you feeling today? I woke up feeling pretty good. My tummy is still sore but overall the pain is very minimal. I woke up because I felt hungry. I made me a small bowl of tomato soup and it was yummy.

I hope you're doing well too.

  12. Hi, my name is Lisa. I have trouble navigating through this site too but I'm learning. I'm feeling much better today than yesterday. I have been having leg pain and don't know why. It's difficult to walk at times. It seems to have subsided a little and I'm able to get around better. Tomorrow should be better.

Are you still on clear liquids? I'm afraid to try anything like Jello, creamy soups or sugar free popsicles. Have you started your full liquid diet yet?

  13. How often do you workout? Do you do weights and cardio? You are so tone; I'm hoping to have as much success as you have had. Congrats on your weight loss!

    Have a wonderful weekend!!

  14. How're you doing? Have you started eating soft foods yet? I can't wait until I can eat solids again. I'm doing okay but still a little sore around the port site.

Hope all is well with you. :)

  15. added 2.5 cc's today. I can barely eat my jello but I'm not complaining. Could it be swelling due to the fill? Guess I'll know in a few days. Can't wait till I get to the "sweet spot". :)

  16. Another thing, I got shingles a couple of weeks ago. My Dr. says it may have been caused by the stress of the surgery. It was very painful. I'm doing much better now and will be returning to work this Thursday. Talk to you soon!! Lisa

  17. Bringing in the treadmill, it's time to start working out again.

  18. feeling good about walking during the week. woot woot!!

  19. Feeling great, clothes are fitting better and I'm wearing my high heels again. Even my feet have slimmed some. LOL

  20. Got my first band adjustment today, 3.5cc's. I feel restriction again! Ahhh! :)

  21. Had to put my treadmill in the garage to make room for the christmas tree. I figured I'd walk around the block or school field...sad to say, that hasn't happened yet.

  22. Hi Jackie, how did surgery go? I hope you're doing well. Hope to hear from you soon.

  23. Hi Jackie, how's everything going so far? Have you lost more weight? I hit a plateau and I'm hoping with my recent adjustment I'll see some weight loss again. When is you first fill? Do you plan on going to the support group meeting on 12/22? I have a reminder on my phone. It would be nice to meet you.

  24. Hi Jackie, I'm doing really well although my hunger has returned!!! Not too happy about that. I don't see Dr Q until 10/25, I could really use a fill right now. I worked the day of my "bowel prepping". It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I suggest staying home if possible. CVS has three flavors, to choose from lemon, cherry and grape. I got the cherry flavored one, it was tart but had no problem drinking it. Your big day is almost here. Are you getting excited?
