  1. Hi Jackie, your big day is almost here!! Are you getting excited? I wanted you to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so happy for you and can't wait to hear how it all went. Please send me a message once you are able.

    God Bless!

  2. Hi Jackie, I'm doing really well although my hunger has returned!!! Not too happy about that. I don't see Dr Q until 10/25, I could really use a fill right now. I worked the day of my "bowel prepping". It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I suggest staying home if possible. CVS has three flavors, to choose from lemon, cherry and grape. I got the cherry flavored one, it was tart but had no problem drinking it. Your big day is almost here. Are you getting excited?

  3. Hi Jackie, are you familiar with the "My lapband journey" website? They have a few animated video's on pre and post surgery that I found helpful. They also have testimonial videos. Not sure if you have to be a member (I don't think so) but if you're interested the website is: www.lapband.com

Hope you're having a great day.

  4. Slept on my back last night, propped up on a couple of pillows; it wasn't the most comfortable position so I tossed and turned all night, however, I woke up without any pain - yeah! Guess it'll be a while before I get to sleep on my side or stomach.

  5. How're you doing? Have you started eating soft foods yet? I can't wait until I can eat solids again. I'm doing okay but still a little sore around the port site.

Hope all is well with you. :)

  6. Wishing everyone a very nice weekend!!

  7. My port site was really bothering me last night. found it hard to sleep. Took pain meds before bed and slept okay but woke up at 3am with the same pain. took another dose, slept well; woke up at 9am, still feeling sore only around the port site. It's bareable as long as I'm not laying down.

  8. How often do you workout? Do you do weights and cardio? You are so tone; I'm hoping to have as much success as you have had. Congrats on your weight loss!

    Have a wonderful weekend!!

  9. Hi Raychie, how are you doing? I'm doing good only a little sore around my port site so it's hard to get out of bed sometimes. Other than that I'm doing good.

Did you see your DR? Did you get a fill or did Dr say it was okay to wait? I don't see my Dr until the 25th. I think I'll be ready for a fill by then.

Haven't lost more weight but I know my body is still healing. I'm sure next month will be different <>. My feet aren't swollen anymore either. But I can certainly see a difference in my feet. So glad I don't have to take anymore lasix!!

  10. Hi Jackie, I still have some tenderness around the port site and need a little help getting up when laying down but other than that I'm doing pretty good.

Monday was a little tough but I was able to get around ok. Be sure to walk as much as possible after surgery; it really helps with recovery. I walked around my dinning room and hallway 4 laps - 3x's a day.

How're you doing on the liquid diet?

  11. Today my port site was a little sore. Needed help getting up from laying down. Noticed I was a little hungrier today than a few days ago. Won't have my first fill until 10/25. :(

  12. What a beautiful picture! Thanks for accepting my friendship request. :) When do you start your pre-op liquid diet?

  13. I got on the scale today...I don't like what I see, LOL. Didn't gain but didn't lose either. I know it'll take time before the weight starts to shed but I'm doing everything I'm supposed to. Maybe I'm still swollen? I hope so...let's see what the scale says on Thursday, one week post-op.

  14. Hi Nooshie, not sure if you'll remember me but I met you back in July at the LB support group. I was banded on 9/30 and am doing well. Hope you'll accept my friend request. See you at the next meeting. :)

  15. Glad to hear you’re doing better. I understand what you mean by having trouble getting the protein and liquid in. I feel full all the time to and from what I’ve read on this site it’s only temporary and the hunger will return.

I’m sorry about your nausea. I take a couple of crushed meds during the day too. I try to take it with something other than water and although I’m not nauseas I feel like there’s always a huge air bubble in my stomach.

My next Dr. appt is set for 10/25. Let me know how your appt goes.

  16. Today was a good day. Sat in my PJ's watched movies and sipped my liquids all day. Feelin pretty good so far. :)

  17. Woke up at 3:30am and stomach felt empty. I felt a bit nauseated so sipped a 4oz of apple juice and went back to bed. For breakfast I ate 4oz of soy nf peach yogurt and sipped 4 oz of plain soy milk. It took me an 1.5 hrs to get that all in.

  18. Hi Raychie, how are you feeling today? I woke up feeling pretty good. My tummy is still sore but overall the pain is very minimal. I woke up because I felt hungry. I made me a small bowl of tomato soup and it was yummy.

I hope you're doing well too.

  19. Hi Tsaleen, hoping we can be friends and support to one another. Our surgery dates are only a couple of days apart. Hope your doing well.

  20. Hello everyone, I was banded on 9/30 and started experiencing leg pain before being released from the hosp. They did an ultra sound on both legs to test for blood clots, the tests were fine and I was sent home; however, my legs hurt like it does after a good workout. Has anyone else experienced this?? Thanks, any help or suggestions are appreciated. :smile2:
  21. I am doing a lot better today. The leg pain is virtually gone and I'm walking fine. whew! Not sure what caused it but I'm glad it's over with. :smile2:
  22. I am feeling so much better today. I woke up and was hungry. I warmed up a cup of tomato soup and drank some apple juice. Now I'm sipping water and working on getting in my daily 64oz of fluids; this has been a challenge for me.

  23. Hi, my name is Lisa. I have trouble navigating through this site too but I'm learning. I'm feeling much better today than yesterday. I have been having leg pain and don't know why. It's difficult to walk at times. It seems to have subsided a little and I'm able to get around better. Tomorrow should be better.

Are you still on clear liquids? I'm afraid to try anything like Jello, creamy soups or sugar free popsicles. Have you started your full liquid diet yet?

  24. I was banded on Thurs 9/30. When I was wheeled into the operating room I began to feel more anxious. The anesthesiologist reassured me I was in good hands. She put something in my IV to calm me down and the next thing I remember was waking up in the recovery room. I was told that surgery began at 10:50 and I was done by 11:18am. My suggestion to you after surgery is to walk as much as you can. This will help with the gas and your healing will be much quicker. Good luck to you!
