  3. I did one night and I feel like that was plenty for me. I drove myself home two days after surgery and was walking around the block in my neighborhood after 3 days. I never threw up once (THANK GOD...it was my worst fear). I agree that walking is key. Muscle discomfort and gas pains are probably going to be the biggest factors but movement is very important. Good luck! You'll do great.
  4. Thanks sweetie. BTW...LOOOVE the Celtic ticker. I can't figure out how to get one on mine. Hope you're feeling better now.
  5. I don’t remember one thing between me lying down on the table and telling them that I have kids so make sure I wake up and the moment when they tapped me and told me it was over and time to move to another bed. The pain is the gas. Your tummy will be inflated to make the surgery easier and the gas that is used for the inflation takes its time coming out. Other than that, tomorrow is the first day of your new life. Congratulations. J
  6. I am 4 months post op and have lost close to 40 pounds. My period did not come this month and last month my hair started to thin significantly. I am taking my supplements as directed, but am curious if anyone else had an experience like this?
  7. I can take in about 1/4 to 1/3 or a little less than 1/2 cup of food at a time now. most often about like 1/3 of a cup. I do this about every 2 or 3 hours or so. Sometimes I'm shocked at how little it takes to fill me up. How are you feeling?

  8. Hi newmoo,

How are things going for you? Here's my #1 question...It's been 4 months for you, how much are you able to now eat?

    Band vs Sleeve

Hi Stacy, WELCOME! I feel like I already know you! Everything Tiffykins said is so true. So glad you're here!
  10. Hi Sadiegirl, wondering how it went with Dr. Almanza? I think you said it was 12/20. Just checking in. Hope all is well. :)

  11. Neener Neener I'm your friend now! Welcome. :)

  12. Hi Sadiegirl,

Yes, I was sleeved on Oct. 1st. I don't know specifically what it is that you would like to know but I'd be happy to share with you anything you want. I am now almost 8 weeks postop and can tell you that the results are real. Tijuana is definitely not the U.S. so be prepared for that. However, Dr. Almanza is qualified and personable. We can chat if you'...

  13. Have you seen Dr. Almanza yet? I'm going on 12/20/10 and wanted to hear about your experience. Thanks.

  14. Hi everyone, Today was my first day back at work after my sleeve on 10/1. I was losing at first. Like 2 or 3 pounds a day, then on Saturday it stopped. Dead. Now I'm up one pound from Saturday. I'm feeling discouraged, to say the least. Like...why did I do something this drastic and pay all this money and starve myself for 3 weeks just to lost 12 pounds. I'm not very happy and I feel like I did before I did this. Like nothing's ever going to work and I'm doomed to be hungry forever. I made dinner for my family and started crying because I know I can't have any. The sacrifice would be okay if I were losing BUT I'M NOT!!!!! What the hell??? Did this happen to anyone else so dang quickly? I'm only 10 days post op. I'm following the post op liquids religiously. I'm healing up nicely I just hate that I'm not seeing any results. Sorry if this offends people, but this really sucks. Please tell me what happens now. Thank you. Signed...the whiner.
  15. I had my procedure done in Mexico last Friday, Oct. 1st. I go back to work this coming Monday. Before I left work it was the elephant in the living room. People felt awkward about asking questions or even bringing up the subject. Like I was going away to be executed for a horrendous crime or something. My tiny little 110 pound filipino boss counseled me on the ways of fixing my mind before fixing my body. My sister told me that I will be "stretching this out" anyway and will be right back to where I started. Then there was the Mexico issue. As though I were riding in on a burro and having savages butcher me with filthy 16th century utensils. Ignorance. Prejudice. Jealousy. Yes, it brought me down. My sister, in particular still is bringing me down. But it was performed. 8 days post-op, (or actually 7 days and some hours post-op) I am down 14 pounds. I'm healing up nicely. My knees already feel better. I haven't panted since I've been home. Don't let the turkeys keep you from soaring like an eagle. Most likely these are thin people who have never struggled and fat people who are jealous of your initiative.
