  1. Hey guys - I haven't forgot about you all! Just having a rough couple days. Will check in tomorrow and catch up.
  2. No, but I would love to be from somewhere with Beaver in the city name! lol Beavertown, Tx. That would be awesome. :smile2: Welcome! When's your surgery date?
  3. PS - I am sorry I spelled your name with an H instead of Sara.....
  4. Hey Sarah, Overweight and Ally! Welcome! Yep Ally, we can see your message! lol You'll have to give us all an inside look into the process of the banding procedure overseas - I am sure they do some things differently (especially the stones thing, I don't get it... I will have to learn the conversion....). Sarah - I think your thoughts are SO normal.... I grew up very athletic, did 3-4 sports at at time, was still athletic thru most of college - but even when I was playing sports and exercising constantly, I was STILL "dieting" aka starving myself, etc. While planning this process I've thought, "what's wrong with me? Why am I paying all this money? Why can't I just do it like everyone else and just exercise and diet??". Well, that's because I'm not LIKE everybody else! I've come to realize that.... and I need to make a drastic change... I've been fighting this my whole life and I am exhausted... I don't want to be sick and tired of being sick and tired anymore.... I want a new, weight-worry-free life and I am hoping the band is my first step towards that. GOOD FOR YOU though for doing that bootcamp! Those things are NOT EASY!!!
  5. Can't you take Immodium or something for that?? I feel bad for ya'll... my doc doesn't have a pre-op diet - just nothing after 9pm the night before... :smile2:
  6. I LOVE that - is it Swedish or something? Girl! LA?! Okay, you're officially the big city girl out of all of us! lol My name is Trisha - in case I forgot to mention (the h is silent...) lol :smile2:

  9. We will have to think of something babyk!! What's your name and where are you from? I am excited for you!!!:smile2:
  10. Well, honestly I didn't have "fuzzie" feelings (for lack of a better term, lol) from the get-go. I felt very rushed through my consult - he spent maybe a whole 10 mins w me - I even had a list of questions I wanted answered that I didn't get done with because he kept trying to wrap it up. He didn't even ask about my weight history, if I was having any problems because of it, NOTHING... very inpersonal... which is fine, I don't expect my doctor to be Mr. Personality... maybe it was just a rushed day, I don't know. My appointment was at 1 and they didn't take me back until 2 o'clock, even though I was the very first person there in the waiting room (arrived at 12:30) when they opened back up after lunch - they actually took back about 6 people in front of me that arrived AFTER me... I grew up in medical offices, my mother was a Pratice Manager for many years - and this is just poor office management IMO. On the other hand - his help was really great - they seemed compassionate and honestly concered. My co-worker has nothing but good things to say about them. Maybe I just had a bad experience, idk. I don't want to slam anyone or any doc's practice. :smile2: He's obviously more than qualified, experience wise. I just chose Monterrey because of the awesome reviews former patients have given me of the hospitals and services - and #1 was the price... can't beat it with a stick, especially since I am self pay!!
  11. I have CIGNA open access plus as well but of COURSE our companies policy has an exclusion....:smile2:
  12. lacrecia - I originally was going to him as well - had my surgery scheduled for the end of this month, till I got some advice and decided on Monterrey! One of my coworkers is a patient of his - she's lost 90 lbs or so.
  13. Ok, question here - what exactly is a hernia? What causes it? What are the symptoms?
  14. Thanks mskitten - I've decided to go the cc route. I didn't feel right w that program as I read over the papers, my gut feeling was a red flag for me!
  15. I have the option of splitting my surgery over two Credit Cards or using My Medical Loan's "No Patient Left Behind" program - although while filling out my paperwork I decided to google some info and found some bad reviews about them being bankrupt and people losing their money, etc. Anyone have any advice?? Or dealt w this company?? Thanks..
  16. Hi ahl - how exciting, your band day's gonna be here before you know it - are you insurance or self pay? Where are you located?
  17. Ya I posted over there and no one responded... Which is cool, we gotta good group goin here too! Best of luck to you danide! Didn't I read that you tried to get insurance approval but ended up your m&d are helping out? (Trying to keep everyone straight, if I confused you for another I'm sorry!!) Phershey - thanks for the tip! I got it now! Lol no more searching! Pooky - thanks for the bbm add - looking forward to chatting more later! :frown:
  18. Sorry phersey I'm still new here as well so I'm not sure - maybe someone will help us that has more lbt experience. Lol Has anyone had a chance to read anyone's blogs about they're band experiences? I've ran over several interesting ones I'd like to read some more on. Good insight into the process and emotional, mental, and physical growth as we all go through this transformation.
  19. Hey crecia! How funny that we're both in FW! Who's your doc? I'm going to Monterrey for my surgery - I'm self pay. Welcome to everyone else as well! I can't say I can relate to the insurance process ya'll are going through but I hope it all goes FAST!
  20. Hi everyone! I am self pay and looking to schedule my surgery the weekend Sept 17th. Should know more in a week or so. Excited for you all!
  21. For sure! Pooky where are you located? My name is trisha and I'm in Fort Worth Texas.
  22. everyone that's posted is within a ten year age range, too - alot of us in our late 20's! Even better!
  23. I am hoping for the third weekend in September if everything goes well!
  24. I swear while reading your post I was thinking to myself, "wow, I could of written this myself". It's reasuring to know other people feel the same way I do - sometimes I feel like I am a lepper and all alone in my thoughts and emotions.... You look FABULOUS and should be SO proud of yourself... I am hoping to get banded sometime within the next 30-60 days and am thinking of doing a video journal as well as a blog on it (I am a former magazine editor, I can't shake my passion! lol) and from your entry it makes me definitely want to do it! CONGRATS TO YOU GIRL!!
