  1. Hi, Thanks again for your great suggestion about checking the options program locally about finding a PCP with WLS experience. The one at Panorama City isn't taking on any more patients but they told me to make a consult with him so he can coordinate my care with my PCP.

We went to claim jumper and I got some clam chowder to share with my husband and I felt I had t6o rush to get it in befpore he ate it all no worries I had more then enough but I guess I am not ready for sharing yet(G)

  4. Thanks. Surgery went well and I am doing great 3 weeks out I have lost 20lbs already!

  6. Hi, I wanted to ask you something about celiac disease. I understand the diesease what I don't understand is why everyone seems to be on the gluten free diets of late even though those who do not have celiac's. Just wanted to know if there is something to the diet.

    Thanks

  7. LOL! When will my mind catch up to my stomach!! I have to fight the urge to take two everything before surgery one tub of yogurt, one pop tarte, one taco....as not enough. Now half of one is too much(G)

How did your first post op go? I know you are worried about your weight loss where they happy?

  8. Ugh! I tried some non fat refried beans with a little shredded cheese maybe 1/2 a cup...way too much didn't get sick but it was close finally after an hour I am starting to feel better. I thought I could eat the same amount as I eat with cottage cheese no way!

  9. Hi, The isopure isn't too bad not great but tolerable. Last night our oldest and his family came over plus our nephew and my BIL who is here *again* so we took the whole gang to Hometown. I got some chicken vegetable soup a spoon full of mashed potatoes and a couple of pieces of jello and picked at my plate while everyone else ate and it was no big deal I didn't even look at the deserts which is my main weakness(G) When we left I was full but not overly so the chicken and carrots which I cut into tiny bits and chewed well no pain no indigestion. It was wonderful! The bottomless pit finally has a bottom! So far I have lost about 16lbs.

  10. Hi, I have been good with the protein I think I get in at least 60g a day and I do think it helps with the engery ot lack of (G) I have grape frost flavor isopure and I make sugar free pudding out of the chocolate or vanilla protein powders chocolate unjruy and the vanilla is from about time. I also like the chicken soup from unjury I take a can of chicken noodle strain it so I just get the broth I find it tastier then plain chicken broth. Have you tried the cream soups yet? That is where I started feeling stuffed. Its just so hard to get use to being stuffed by so little I haven't been able to convince my head that a half cup is plenty(G) Feeling full feels pretty much the same as it did before the surgery just quicker no pain just very uncomfortable. So far I have not found anything I can't tolerate but of course the diet has been limited(G)

  11. LOL! I think I got all my gas out with the first 48 hours I thought my chest was going to explode(G) That hurt! Yesterday I made myself two poached eggs for dinner last night way too much1 It gets kind of tricky when you start with the mushies I can not imagine what regular food will be like. Some days if I do not take a nap I can barely keep my eyes open after 9pm. Are you taking any b12? It is suppose to help with energy. Have you found any protein drinks you like?

  12. Lol! 2 miles sounds a lot more impressive then it is. I have no doubt that you walked even further on your hour walks. I also walked a lot pre op and had for years. Every day does get better. I am just sorry that you had such a rough first week.

  13. So glad to hear you are feeling better those first few days of yours sounded brutal. I still have some tenderness and soreness I think that is normal. My biggest issue now is eating too fast and too much my head hasn't quite gotten the memo. I started walking close to two miles on Friday.

  14. I hope now that you are a week out you are feeling a lot better.

  15. Hope things are going better now that you are home.

  16. Hi Humpty, I just saw you note about sleep apnea test and wanted to assure you that Kaiser probably won't make you do it if you neck is less then 20" around. My friend who just finished the Options is 5'2" stated the class at 230 at the end was 219lbs. They never asked her to do one of even suggested it and she wasn't rejected for not losing the full 10%.

  17. Hope you are home and all went well. been thing of you and checking the board regularly. Nancy

  18. You are on the loser bench now! Been thinking of you and praying all went well with your sleeve this morning and you are resting comfortably in your room.

  19. How are you doing? Just think this time tomorrow it will be over your journey will have started and I just know you will do just fine.

  20. LOL I like my surgeon but I think he tends to be one of those chronically late types(G) Journalling sounds like a wonderful idea.

  21. Hi, I was reading about you getting PLICATION and was wondering about something what about the hunger hormone thing? Just curious I have already been sleeved but have a friend who is considering it.

  22. Hopefully your surgeon won't be stuck in traffic and make you wait an extra 30 minutes. Boy oh boy the last thing I remember is scooting over to the operating table and an oxygen mask on my face and the next thing I knew I was in recovery I could not believe it as over I went in around 3 and was out awake at 5. I just found out I have to keep the drain in until next week but other then being awkward its no big deal and I can still shower with it. I think the fact that you are young and not super obese should really serve you well.

    Nancy

  23. Thanks. Still doing well this heat is making things a bit difficult once I get the drain out and can shower I know I will feel better. What time are you going in tomorrow? Just think tomorrow it will be over and you will be on the loser bench with me.! Your pictures are very pretty. Thanks for the encouraging words.

  24. Thanks for the good thoughts. I am sleeved and home and you are day after tomorrow! It wasn't too bad I think the fear was worst then the reality. Last night was a bit rough I have problems with nausea, vomiting and reflux to begin with so that just added on to what might not have been much at all. Had a bit of pain mostly gas and have a drain hanging from my side I see the surgeon in the morning to have it removed. I would have to say the worst parts were the waiting, the barium and the dry mouth while npo until the ugi.

    Good luck

    Nancy

  25. I got some Greek yogurt plain flavor. I won't be able to eat it for two weeks but somehow I seem to be nesting for my sleeve. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts.
